We also serve breakfast and lunch sandwiches along with homemade soups and salads. We have a full assortment of hot and cold beverages as well as homemade pastries. History

Established in 2004.

Balsam Bagels opened its doors in 2004. It occupies the old Balsam Meat Market. Balsam Bagels chose this location based on the vitality of the neighborhood and wanting to do business in the City of Rochester. Bagel Central is the parent company and has been making and baking bagels, (millions), since 1997. Bagel Central /​Balsam Bagels supplies over 50 wholesale account on a daily basis, 7 days a week. Ron Malek has over 30 years experience in bagel baking and is found on the premises 7 days a week.

Business Owner

Ron has over 30 years experience in the bagel baking and baking industries. He started working literally from the ground up in his parents bakery, scraping sheet pans clean as well as cleaning the bakery floor. As he got older he began to learn the art of baking from the old European bakers who worked for his parents. His keen interest although was in Bagel Baking. In 1997 Ron opened his first wholesale bagel factory and in 2004, opened the retail outlet, Balsam Bagels.
