Yes, it’s a relic… but the staff worked very hard to make our stay as serene as possible. We had to extend our stay due to surgical issues, and everyone at 2nd Street was supportive and kind. Immediately moved us to another room when the a/c conked out, helped out with extra linens and kitchen needs, and made sure we were comfortable. Stay out of room 310 if possible… it’s dark. AND…you can’t open the freezer door if the bedroom door is closed… lol…I found it amusing, others may not. You can’t beat the prices and the attentiveness of the staff. The only thing I would suggest is defrosting the tiny freezers in the fridge… yes the fridges are old enough to need defrosting… again, consider it luxury camping and you’ll be delighted. I spent most of my days at Mayo, so coming back to a place where I felt safe and had a good bed to sleep in was fabulous. Had lots of cable channels to choose from, and the bathroom of #321 is absolutely charming… beautiful, old-fashioned tile in a soothing green… and clean clean clean!!! Pizza place delivers, there’s a gas station just a stone’s throw away, I walked to Mayo most days(avoiding parking fees!) and there’s a terrific Salvation Army off of Broadway next to the KMart, if you’re into such things(it was great for augmenting my kitchen needs), as well as an Aldi’s, Dollar Tree, HyVees, Outback Steakhouse, and another little burger joint I can’t remember the name of, but good burgers… all just over a mile away if you take Broadway. No coffee maker, no hair dryer, just a microwave and fridge in the kitchen… but I had my own hair dryer anyway(and there were plenty at Salvation Army… donate it back when you leave). Lots of more expensive places to eat all around Mayo, but I was saving my pennies. My thanks to everyone at 2nd Street Inn and Suites for making a very rough ordeal at Mayo more comfortable. I appreciate everything you did for me.

Hey, it’s cheap! What do you expect. We stayed two nights while son was at St. Marys for eye surgery. Be honest, we paid half to a third as much as all the other inns on 2nd St. The setup is three square 2 ½ story buildings with parking in the back. The staff, for us, was friendly and helpful. They have free wireless internet but for some reason you have to give them your device MAC address. All the rooms have a microwave and a fridge. We had a 2-room king suite in building three, which included a bar sink. Everything was serviceable if a bit dog-eared. The only problem for us was the noise. From our lower level we heard a lot of commotion from the sumo wrestlers above us. At different times during the night we heard a lot of banging and gurgling from the plumbing. As advertised, a free«breakfast» is available in a small room next to the office in building one. We noticed it was quite empty. Once in there we found why. The room is dominated by a shrieking ice machine which generates so much heat a roaring window air conditioner is required. We found a bit of fresh fruit, a pile of pastries, fruit juice and mediocre coffee. All the basic motel amenities are available but it all seems a bit ad-hoc. If you need a cheap nights stay near St. Marys or Mayo, this will do.

Do not come here! Rude staff who make snide comments if they don’t have something that you ask for. I only asked for a hairdryer, and the staff made a nasty comment«You can use an iron, we have lots of those.» Given the weather in rochester(below zero degrees), there is NOHEATER at all. SOYOUSLEEPIN A FRIGIDROOM. The room is dirty and unacceptable. DONOTCOMEHERE! There are better options.
