I dove with Narcosis middle January. The conditions weren’t very good but the boat ride with Captain Van and Damian, the dive master, was excellent. Van is a top notch captain and very accommodating. I really enjoyed sitting up on the bridge with him and discussing his boat and the passing of David Bowie and Glenn Frey. Damian, is an excellent dive master!!! I really enjoyed our dive together albeit the visibility was about 10 – 15′ tops. He has an eagle eye for wild life… I saw more significant wild life on that dive than I have with 100′ visibility thanks to Damian. Lot’s of fun. Now I’m taking my wife… so look out Narcosis I’m coming back!

Used them in December. Been diving since 1984, so I’ve seen a few dive boats. The Narcosis crew is very professional — the boat is a purpose built dive boat and was easy on and off despite the chop. I would recommend them without hesitation.

Awesome charter. Crew is very knowledgeable and safety conscious. No egos here… just drama free diving.

Captain of the boat has a terrible attitude problem.

I went out diving with my friends. It started out okay, but at some point we had a very concerning issue. The captain almost ran into a boat that was in the area(it was a family with a few kids that were just having fun). I felt like he put all of us in a japery. Surprisingly shocking, but shortly after he had a melt down on the poor family. He yelled at them and used very inappropriate language! I felt really bad for them. At that point I felt like I just want to go back to the shore! This is all aside from how bad the diving was. He didnt answer any of our questions regarding the area, and the diving locations were pretty bad. In a few words very unprofessional, and not recommended!

Diving with Narcosis Dive Charters was a great experience! We dove 3 Days with them this week and will definitely use them every chance we get. Capt Van was friendly and informative. The dive sites were great. The boat picked us right up when we surfaced, no waiting. Snacks and drinks on board. Crew was friendly and helpful. Bryan Clark assisted us with our Advanced and Nitrox certifications. He was knowledgeable, patient and very attentive to us as we learned new skills. The divemaster actively pointed out fish, eels, turtles, sharks, rays and other cool sites. Jessica, Justin, Jeff, Katie, Bryan and Capt Van — thanks for a great time diving this week! Hope to see you again soon!

Every-time I’ve dove with Narcosis I received nothing but A+ service time and time again. Captain Van and his crew are AWESOME, extremely knowledgeable and attentive when it comes to diving and the needs of those on the boat. I’ve had too many great experiences to count. One recently however was when I went diving and my girlfriend was a «bubble watcher» lets just say she didn’t watch any that day as she was sea-sick during the whole morning dives. Capt. Van checked up on her throughout the morning as well as Finch(one of the DM’s) when all the divers including I was in the water. Can’t forget the other crewman Johnnie and Jessica who where in the water at the time. Upon returning to the dock to pay; Capt Van said, I didn’t need to pay for her as she was sick the whole time. I argued, that I was being honest and still paying him regardless anyway, unless he didn’t want it. LoL. He greatly appreciated it, to my reply. ALWAYS!!! Happy Diving…

Captain Van and his dive masters run a first class dive charter business. I found about the Narcosis from another diver I met during a recent live aboard trip that has been diving on the Narcosis for a number of years. The boat has an excellent layout for diving, they are very safety conscious, and one of the dive masters always leads the drift dives. They have a large screen tv to show you the layout of the reef and wrecks you’ll be seeing during the dive briefing. Their prices are excellent, and weather permitting, they do at least one trip a day. Parking is free and they have plenty of carts to haul your gear to the boat and back. You’ll be diving over some amazing reefs and wrecks. We came across a large loggerhead turtle, moray eel, and good numbers of reef fish during the two dives I did with them.

This is VERY much my kind of outfit. When I called, I didn’t get a teenage receptionist, or a shop employee, I got Captain Van’s cell phone, out on the boat. This is no-frills, doing it for the love of scuba diving at it’s very best. There’s no fancy show-room, there’s just a boat, a captain, and his crew, and they’re all excellent. We met Captain Van on the dock at 7:30am in Riviera Beach Marina, just a few minutes north of West Palm Beach. The boat itself is big enough for 28, although we only had about 12. She’s also very fast. In the morning they usually head north to dive off Juno Beach, and we were able to get out to the dive site in about 20 – 30 minutes. On-board there’s separate fresh water rinses for cameras and masks, as well as a warm-water hose to shower with. They provided chips, cold filtered water, sodas, and peanut-butter crackers which was just right in-between dives. Our dive-masters Bryan and Chris were very knowledgeable, helpful, warm, and friendly. We felt safe, well informed, and well taken care of before and during both dives. Wifey and I have 15 and 10 years of experience and about 20 – 30 dives under our belts. We were the least experienced folks on-board this day. Everybody else had 100+ dives under their(weight) belts. With a diverse group of divers, there were three separate dive groups that went off the boat: spear hunters, photographers, and the main group that went with the dive-master. We had two guides in the water for both dives, taking care of our safety, and pointing out interesting sights. Speaking of safety, I appreciated that they provided signal tubes(sausages) for everybody for increased visibility on the surface. During our two drift dives we saw barracudas, huge porcupine puffers, a giant ray, a hawksbill turtle, goliath groupers, and lots of gorgeous fish. Other divers in our group also saw a huge hammerhead shark and a nice looking moray eel. For equipment, we brought our own masks, boots, and fins, but rented BCDs, regulators, tanks, and wet-suits. They had everything we needed right on the dock, and everything was in excellent condition. For two dives and all the rental gear, they charged $ 120 per person, which is $ 60-$ 80 less than every other shop I called when researching our trip. They were also able to take a credit card payment out on the dock, which was appreciated. I would absolutely recommend Narcosis Dive Charters to a friend, and look forward to diving with them again the next time we’re in Florida.
