It’s smaller, older, much cheaper, much more friendly and you get great color in a shorter amount of time! Quit wasting your money!

I had never been tanning, so was my first time and Sharae was so helpful. This place is awesome, and customer service is amazing. KBL bed is the best, I highly recommend it! I am definitely going to become a member, worth every penny, and you don’t come out looking orange instead u look like u just came back from a vacation in Hawaii. Loved it so much, wish I had found this place earlier!

This was the absolute worst spray tan I have experienced in 25 years of getting sprayed .
WHEN I MADE THE APPOINTMENT, I was not informed the tan was going to cost 70.00 .
If the service could justify the cost, I would have no problem paying. It was a birthday gift to me .
However I have never paid more than 40 – 45 dollars for a great tan. I am familiar with all the systems on the market, so I was excited to try this system. I am s fan of Norvell organic .
I asked a lot of questions when I arrived, the girl seemed to have a «know it all attitude, she was vague and uninformed, however she ask me to pay first (now I know why) and discounted the service to 50 dollars .
I am a expert in spray tanning. I was the first distributor to bring airbrush tanning kits to the country .
I get sprayed once a week because I travel the country, l know what to look for …
The service was a nightmare. She Provided no disposable foot protectors. No barrier cream, no pre tan ph balancer. She sprayed me till I was dripping wet, and assured me in 24 hours all the clothes and runs and uneven color would rinse off .
I literally left there drenched in chocolate. My clothes were wet, I did not dry completely for 8 hours after and was still sticky. Because I wanted to give benefit of doubt I dis not shower for 24 hours, I literally could not go in public as I looked stained and blotchy, my bed sheets were covered my boyfriends hands were stained for simply touching me not knowing I was rubbing off .
I showered and my tan was awful, uneven color, she assured me it would last up to two weeks, it did not last 3 days. I am now stuck with trying to scrub off blotches of color …
I have photos and testimonies from my friends, I was so disappointed, because it was my birthday …
THE Salon is in Riverside not a area you would expect to be charged 70 dollars or even 50 for a spray tan .
I also wanted to note while I was waiting patrons came in for tanning bed and were told they were having problems .
This was a experience I felt the public deserved to review, before getting a spray tan. There are many other salons in the area and mobile units that may be a better option …

Staff Rene is helpful and friendly she went above and beyond to make it a pleasant experience. Very clean and inviting atmosphere. Will definitely be returning

I was not able to airbrush one of my clients and I called same day and they helped me in a jam and took care of my client. She loved her tan and now I have somewhere to go that can tan me. Thank you to the manager Shelley for her help and professionalism.

This place is clean and the staff is nice. I can’t give 5 stars because the prices are outrageous and I had to talk to a manager about how I was lied to about the Unilocal deal.

I have been coming here for over years now, took a break in between and just started my membership back up. I have been to 3 different tanning salons in Riverside but I’ve come to the conclusion that The Tanning Spa wins in all aspects (great customer service, cleanliness and selection of the best beds on the market) I used to only use the matrix bed which in my eyes was the best bed out there but now they have the KBL bed (it mists you when it gets hot! it’s pretty awesome) so now I switch between both. Thanks for everything Tanning Spa!

I’m a newbie to spray tanning and was a bit nervous about the overall experience and result. Growing up Southern California I was always golden and didn’t need much maintenance in the tanning dept. but after I moved to rainy Seattle 5yrs ago I started to notice my natural skin more, and that I actually DONT have the natural sun kissed skin I thought I did! During my visit trip back home I needed a quick tan and made my appointment the day of. They took me in with no hesitation. Customer service was amazing, and the technicians seem to be very informative and made me feel so comfortable! My first experience was great and the result came out fantastic. I have an amazing tan again! It looks so natural I’m just completely in love with it. I def will be coming back :) Thanks Amber (my technician) for making my first experience so amazing!

The manager and staff are so friendly. I couldn’t express the professionalism on taking care of clients.

I absolutely love this place. I love the beds and the staff. I do not however think that they should be charging $ 100 enrollment fee. Nowadays you can go anywhere and tan without paying a membership fee. The membership fee alone made me not want to give them my business. So I didn’t.

This tanning spa is great! I have gone there for years, even though I don’t live in the area. They have top of the line products and tanning beds. I usually get the airbrushing done. This is the best way to get a quick even healthy tan! Only thing that I would change, and the reason they didn’t get 5 stars, is that some of the front desk girls push hard to sell you up on tanning lotions, after lotion, etc. I understand this is a business, but please don’t get mad at me when I say «no thank you». Other than that, they are great!

I went into The Tanning Spa tonight to redeem a Living Social deal that I had purchased for two Spray tans. The girls behind the counter were really sweet and said that they had to look at the deal to make sure it wasn’t just for first time customers. She asked me if I had been there before, which I was honest and said yes. She said the deal is for new customers only and I told her I didn’t know that otherwise I wouldn’t have purchased it. She then said she would call the owner to see if she would still be able to honor it. I appreciated the fact that both of the girls went out of their way to help me. She got ahold of the owner in which the owner said no but she could give me a great deal if I wanted to apply what I paid to a package with a discount. I told her no thank you.
My reason for writing the review is this: based on the fact that I was honest and told the girls that I had been there before, they couldn’t find me under my married name, so I gave her my maiden name. I could have lied and told her no I’ve never been there before, but I chose to be honest. I understand that I didn’t see the «new customers only» at the very bottom of the Living Social deal, however, I feel it is very shady of the owner to state that in the deal and then try to use it as a bait and switch approach. I get that you are trying to grow your clientele, but with my honesty, I’m very disappointed at your approach to try to up sell some other packages to me when I obviously came there to redeem the deal I already bought.
I feel that it is poor business practice to list these deals on sites when others have purchased the same deal and are getting turned away for the same reason as me. As I told the girls, the two other times I’ve been to The Tanning Spa, I used Groupon/​Living Social deals. They’ve never said «New Customers Only» on them until now. That is something you put on a coupon, not something that someone has to prepay for in order to use.
That being said, I will be calling Living Social tomorrow to request my refund. And the only reason I’m giving this review the three stars is for the two girls who were working there this evening that were so sweet and helpful and tried whatever they could to help me out. They were both apologetic which I appreciated them being geniunely sorry. I wish I could say the same about the owner. Rather than being so focused on up selling packages to make extra money, she could’ve honored the deal for me and I most likely would have kept coming back as a repeat customer.

Absolutely love this place. The staff is so friendly and helpful and show you everything to do for first timers like me. Sarah T was awesome and showed me there products and made really good recommendations to me. This is the place to go if your looking for a really good tan.

Jenae gives awesome customer service. She has the best attitude and is warm and informative. The girls at iTan Winchester didn’t even give me a tour. They just said «we have this this and this.» Jenae showed me each room and explained all their beds and services and packages and even told me over the phone about a coupon I could download and bring in. I was on the road when I decided to check this place out, though. This place is truly a Tanning SPA. It’s clean and relaxing.
Jenae suggested I use their Mystic bed, which is their best. She guaranteed color and absolutely no burn. I went with it and she even gave me her bottle of tanning lotion to use and showed me how everything worked.
I used the entire 12 minutes and came out happy with the bed. Definitely no burn whatsoever and got some color.
When I got out, she was helping some other customers and still accommodated me well; asked me how I liked it and said not to worry about deciding what I wanted to do and we can talk about it next time I decide to come in. Love it when there’s no pressure! I’m thinking about joining!
So, ya, it’s on the pricier side but it’s worth it for the quality tanning experience.

Fantastic news!!! This is once again the BEST place to tan in Riverside! The former owner and management are back at the helm and it is better than ever!
