This is my neighborhood grocery store. They’ve just recently had a facelift and, well, if looks were all that mattered in a grocery store, then they’d be doing alright. This is a very small location. They have a lackluster meat department as far as selections go and no bakery(no oven fresh french bread). There are no prepared foods like soups or rotisserie chicken or ribs. They worked pretty hard in the last few months to vamp up their produce department, so I can tell they are working on things. They do a good job at keeping the shelves stocked and most of the cashiers are pleasant and helpful. My recommendations for improvement: *It would be nice if more cashiers were available during busy hours. *Make better cuts of meat available in the meat department. *Move the carts racks away from the front door. It gets too crowded.

Expect to wait in long lines with only two cashiers working and the manager not doing a damn thing about it! Its unbelievable how they make their patrons wait as if our time wasn’t valuable. Maybe it has something to do with the demographics of their location. The store two miles down does not have this problem perhaps because there are more Anglos shopping at this store, hmmm. The only reason you’re getting a one star is because Unilocal wont allow me to give less! Spare yourselves people, go to Cardenas instead or drive down a little further and go to the Stater by Adams, they seem to appreciate their customers.

Just your average Stater Bros. I had to stop here momentarily because I had to use their restroom. It is located at the far left corner of their store. Their parking lot has plenty of spots since it is part of a shopping center.
