History

Established in 1993.

SPC was originally founded as Sievers & Rodriguez in 1968 by Ben Rodriguez Sr. and Eduardo Sievers. The company in those years focused on painting homes, apartment buildings and some commercial projects. In 1972, Mr. Rodriguez’s experience and vision continued to grow and he purchased the full ownership of the company and renamed it Southern Pacific Painting. The list of corporate clients increased as well as their project demands.

Southern Pacific Painting later became Southern Pacific Coatings (SPC). The company continued to evolve with the use of more sophisticated materials and equipment. SPC began to offer waterproof systems along with high– rise scaffolding to complete the high-​profile commercial buildings in California.

In the mid 1990’s, SPC secured a blanket maintenance agreement with Boeing to provide painting and special coatings to its facilities.

When I started SPC over 40 years ago, my goal was

to provide the best service and workmanship at competitive prices for my clients. I honestly could not have imagined that I would be participating in some of the biggest and highest profile building renovation projects around.

I knew that if I worked hard and with integrity, that the opportunities would be there.

Since then, SPC has continued to evolve and listen to the needs and requirements of its clients. We have developed from a small paint shop eager to complete custom homes to a company specializing in a variety of services to better meet the project demands of clients.

We have been fortunate to work closely with companies such as Boeing, Allied Signal, City of Los Angeles, CB Richard Ellis, Douglas Emmett, Holiday Inn Hotels, Embassy Suites, County of Riverside and Southern California Edison just to name a few.

Anyone that has worked extensively with me knows that my passions have always been materials and equipment.
