Select Study Abroad offers the premier academic and travel summer program in Florence, Italy for college students. Select Study Abroad students live and study in Florence and visit cities throughout Italy. We provides students who want to study abroad in Florence with the opportunity to see and explore Italy stress-​free! We offer a unique all-​inclusive study abroad experience. We arrange housing, classes, many of your meals, countless activities in Florence and all your travel in Italy!

History

Established in 2010.

The Select Study Abroad Directors, Carrie, Sean and Kellin, are all experienced teachers and trained Art Historians with a thorough knowledge of Italy’s cities, culture, language, history, and art. We each received Masters in Art History with a focus on Italian Renaissance Art from Syracuse University’s Graduate Program in Florence. We have lead site visits, trips, and activities throughout Florence and much of Italy. Sharing these sites and this history with college students is our passion. Whether you are roaming the streets of Pompeii, riding in a gondola through Venice’s canals, or staring up at the Sistine Chapel ceiling, we will be there to set the scene, create some context, and answer your questions. Our enthusiasm for international education, dedication to mentorship, and passion for meaningful travel is the backbone of Select Study Abroad.

Meet the Business Owner

Carrie M.

Business Owner

Carrie Ann Mugridge has lived in Italy on and off for more than 10 years. She earned her Masters in Renaissance Art History from Syracuse University and also studied Italian language at the Universita’ per Stranieri in Siena. Subsequently, she lectured on-​site throughout Italy and France for Syracuse University in Florence. Carrie graduated from the University of California at Santa Barbara with a degree in Italian Cultural Studies and Psychology with a minor in Art History.
