The Sandler Training authorized franchise in Kansas City, MO has been Effective Sales Development, Inc. for over 17 years. We are proud to be one of the first 40 franchises out of now over 225 locations, and one of the longest running. Effective Sales has trained over 1,000 people in the Kansas City area as coaches helping people realize their potential
David H. Sandler developed the Sandler Selling System® methodology, an innovative, non-traditional selling system, in the late 1960s, and created the concept of ‘reinforcement training’ to support it. From that foundation, he went on to create a series of proven sales training programs for small– and mid-sized companies and Fortune 500 corporations, and founded the Sandler Sales Institute®.
We changed our name to Sandler Training in 2008, to more accurately reflect the diversity of our training offerings, which have expanded beyond sales training to include management, customer service, negotiation, and networking.

Business Owner
Stephen R. Montague, CMS, President, Trainer and Coach — Steve understands the dynamics of sales — the psychology of sales. He knows how to find and keep the competitive edge it takes to be successful in a crowded marketplace. The son of a career salesman, he then added the insights gained from his college psychology studies to create a uniquely successful approach to improving sales.
Never interested in «good enough,» Steve continues to look for ways to improve his performance. His ability to actively listen to you describe your obstacles, then show you how to turn them into opportunities, is what sets Steve apart.
As President of Effective Sales Development, Steve combines his knowledge, experience, and unique perspectives with the proven Sandler Selling System to help you define and surpass your goals. Through his dedication and excellence as a Certified Trainer in Sales and Marketing, Steve has successfully helped a large number clients to higher and higher levels of performance.
