Didn’t care for this place much, although I hate it a 2 star because the meal cost was very low because we came during the week. I am surprised at the scoring of this place. Maybe we didn’t order the right stuff. But I ordered a Denver omelet, and the ham was very little. My husband ordered steak and eggs and it the steak was full of fat all over the place. We won’t be back here again.

Mexican Kitchen meets American Diner. Everything on the menu is awesome for a very reasonable price. Service is fast and genuine. Definitely check the place out for a quick breakfast or lunch of Sunday with the family.

Pretty darn good. And always timely. Has become a Saturday morning tradition for my bf and I. Can’t go wrong with the steak and eggs. Me and my very-healthy-appetite-having boyfriend share this plate and are both very satisfied.

I can not believe how lucky I am to have found this local favorite. Do not let the location or the difficulty of finding parking stop you. Also do not park in the Fast Food place that is in front of it because they will make you move your car lol. I was looking for a home cooked, quick, and inexpensive place to grab some breakfast. When I saw the menu prices on Unilocal,I could not believe the prices plus I do not eat much so it was perfect. The food met my basic needs and it was not like extraordinary but it definitely made my mini hangover go away. Their customer service is spot on and super nice, they ended up giving me some biscuits with gravy for free because I guess they were extra but I was soo full that I could not eat them :(but I ended up taking them home. They were okay but i would stick to the basic breakfast combos: D

We were traveling thru Riverside & we wanted to eat at a local restaurant instead of a food chain, so we picked this restaurant. We were happy with our choice. The service was fast and they have inexpensive breakfast specials($ 5.55), yummy potato«home» fries, and it was clean. My only negative comment was that the coffee was just«ok». This appears to be a family owned restaurant because they have a board with family photos, so I would encourage travelers check it out. It has an «A» health department rating too!.

Came here for a quick bite to eat with a friend before our hike, wasn’t bad. Ordered regs with sausage,(sadly it was pork) but the meal was quick and fresh. Hash Browns weren’t bad. Service was pretty quick and friendly, it’s got a small town feel and atmosphere. Only downside was my glass wasn’t clean, but not a make or break.

Great food and great price. The riviera breakfast specials are pretty tasty. The chicken fried steak is the best thing yet.

If you’re looking for a good breakfast place, that’s very affordable, in the Rubidoux area, this is it. Excellent waitresses. Homey atmosphere, lots of locals. Just a good old-fashioned, No-Frills breakfast joint. Try the homemade chili verde sauce. I eat here all the time, and have never been disappointed. I usually order the crispy, chicken fried steak with eggs. They use jumbo farm fresh eggs, and offer sausage patties, and links. If you go on the weekends, get there early, they will get busy. Excellent, fresh tasting salsa with a kick. The breakfast specials are an outstanding deal, with coffee refills frequently offered. There are plenty of comfortable booths, and a counter, for those dining solo.

Well it’s a small coffee shop type family owned restaurant. The type of place you’ll find the older ladies working in as they’ve probably been there since the place opened but in this type of environment it’s what you’d want. Someone who’s caring and knows how to serve their customers. It wasn’t anything special and i’m not sure we’d go back but if you’re hungry the food is okay and quick with a smile.

I haven’t seen the John Wayne on a menu in a while, so I had to order it. It was huge. Starting on the bottom is a corn tortilla, home fries, two eggs over medium, Ranchero sauce, sausage patties, cheese and avocado. I think. I might have forgotten something. I had to take half of it home. They have many breakfast specials for $ 5.55. That’s a great bargain. The John Wayne is more expensive, but still a bargain. With coffee my bill was just $ 10.

The staff was very nice! The food on the other hand was subpar. Needed just a little bit of love and care &SEASONING. …The atmosphere was good, clean, calm & home to a huge horse fly trying to ambush my daughter to duke it out for her not so tender steak, overall for the price the food was ok, just needs a little tweaking, hats off to the staff!

Went with my party of 8, all of our food came out at different times. Didn’t like to watch the others eat while the rest of us watched one by one. I had the steak n eggs, order my steak medium rare and came out really well done burnt. The coffee was good tho. Never going back there again.

Food was amazing, service not so great. The waiter I got was kind of rude. & never once asked us if we needed a refill on our drinks. Also I saw 1 of the waiters drop a piece of someones sandwhich on the counter, put it back on the plate & gave it to the customer like that.

This is your classic family owned local eatery. It has booths and counter seating. The serve a basic menu but do it all very well. I usually get breakfast there it is the #5 special. 4 biscuits 1 egg and 1 sausage patty for only 4.99. The biscuits are light and fluffy and the gravy is very flavorful

The hunt for a good, new breakfast place was on. We had business to conduct in downtown Riverside, and Riviera’s name came up on Unilocal. So, we came. We ate. I have a hard time giving more than 3 stars for this place with only one experience, and one that likely will not be repeated. It was not a bad breakfast. And the service was great and friendly. The old time diner was clean albeit dated and aging. I do not hold that against them. It was primarily the uninspired, inconsistent food. First the good. The plump breakfast sausages. Yes, I say, get them. They are tasty and big. The eggs. Done correctly with no aftertaste of bad griddle or oil. The biscuits. Surprisingly tender and tasty for something that looked like it came straight out of a package. I gobbled them down without jam since their offering was Grape jelly, which I hate. Some honey would have been perfect. Should have asked. Now, the things I will not re-order The gravy. Not bad, just not good either. Creamy but bland. The sausage they used was not the right sausage to impart a well seasoned, homemade flavor. The potatoes. We both ordered hash browns. We left them mostly untouched. Something was not good about the crispy outsides, maybe the spot on the grill where old oil was starting to accumulate. Not like us to push away potatoes. The chicken fried steak. I have to admit, I got a little bite of it from Mr. B. I thought it initially tasted great. He was not as impressed. It seems the meat is similar in consistency to spam, says he. The more he ate, the less he enjoyed it. I thought the outer crust was one of the better ones. Topped with the bland gravy, it did not hit his sweet spot at all. You can get a decent breakfast here without the frills for a ridiculously low price. And I respect that. And our waitress was delightful. With only one breakfast experience here, I can only rate them as average. I would encourage you to come here and decide yourself.

Paid 2.75 for a side of hash browns and got a really small amount. Wasn’t even half way done with my breakfast and they brought the check with no words. Made me feel rushed to eat. Good breakfast specials though!
