it’s been a hit or miss for me and my friends, but as often as i get my nails done, i can’t afford a miss.
the first time i went i had tina, and she did a beautiful job filling in my nails. i would go back if i could make an appointment with her. i’m not sure why her work was cheaper than the older guy i had last. last time i was in there i had an older man do my nails and he did such a shitty job filling them in. the paint was poorly done and the acrylic layer was raised around the edges. there’s another guy who is a lot younger and he did a good job with my friend’s gel nails though.

This spot is clean, which is a plus! I don’t like that they charge a $ 1 fee for credit card and you cannot add a tip to a credit card transaction. I felt horrible not leaving a tip, which I had no control over. The pedicures are better than the manicures in my opinion. The gel mani is always thick. But overall this place is not to shabby.

Why the bad reviews!!! I love this place. Kathy is my go to girl, she is the best. She is very clean with her work and makes my acrylics look very natural. I have never had my acrylics lift and they hardly break when she does them. If you want amazing claws go to her. I am one of her regulars and see her every two weeks. Prices are reasonable and the rest of the employees are sweet hearts. This place can get very busy on the weekends, so I suggest going as soon as they open or during the week. Can’t wait to see her again.

Went in for a gel manicure, and I wasn’t happy with my visit. She didn’t take off my black nail polish completely, and when I asked her to she said 2 coats of red nail polish would cover it Nails weren’t shaped the way I asked for. Just an unpleasant experience overall. The only positive thing was that I didn’t have to wait very long. I won’t come back here again.

This nail place is so horrible. I walked in to have a fill and it was the worst. I first had some chick who shaped my nails all crooked and ugly looking. Then When she was done with the fill this guy took over and rushed me to pick a nail color!!! Every time I told him I wanted a certain color he complained about how it wouldn’t look right. ??? Rude much. I even had to apply the oil to my hands myself once he was finished because he didn’t want to get his hand oily. Nails were so thin and broke off within 3 days Just an overall bad experience. The only person I trust here is SELENA!!!

I love coming here, the prices ate good and the employees are so sweet. The best part is the place is new and super clean. I filled my punch card and got my manicure for free :)

Horrible service. Super rude woman. My toes are still sore from the ingrown removal, which wasn’t necessary. They told me $ 3 for French then charged me $ 5. The girl doing my nails was very irritated. Never going back. Oh and I got an infection. My gel manicure looks nice but the service was not welcoming.

If you’re looking for a consistent nail lady, do not come here! Don’t bother making appointments, they don’t write them down, they can care less if you show up to your appointment and not get seen. The wait times are ridiculous! I’ve seen people wait 30+ mins to get a pedi. They are super busy with not enough empolyees. As far as customer service goes, they don’t believe in it. As long as they have people coming in that’s all they care about.
And, they charge $.50 for credit/​debit and don’t inform you.

Been here once before for my eyelashes they were horrible but thats a different story. I was in a rush and though i dont have an usual shop a place ive enjoyed before was incredibly busy so i decided to come here.
Before i came i called and asked for the wait time and price for a full set of regular short square nails. They told me a 5 – 10 min wait and it would be 20 $. Cool. I walked in and they were busy but had no waiting patrons. No one greeted me and no one asked me if i needed help. Not even a «what do you need»?
Few mins passed with my awkward standing in the front desk so i decided to sit down. I was waiting for about another 3 mins when someone else walked in. She also stood there awkward. A guy who looked like a manager asked her if she needed help and directed her to a pedicure chair. I was so irritated but always decide to be respectful so i stood up towards him. He then asked if id been helped so i told him id called and wanted a full set. He sat me down right away!
I had an older lady who also didnt greet me or even made eye contact with me during our whole entire time! Though i dont like to converse much she never gave an effort other then when i told her how long to cut my nails. I told her short and she cut them at a short/​medium length and asked if thats fine i said ok and we continued. While she was putting the first acrylic nail on she told me itd be 25 $. That was seriously pushing my buttons but at this point i didnt care so i gave her a confused «ok…». I chose not to sit there with an attitude so i was smiling, watching the tv.
Everything was over QUICKLY and it was probably the shortest set ive ever sat with. She put no work or effort in to my nails and spent the last half of it speaking on her cell phone with her daughter.
to top it off the worst part is that my nails are INCREDIBLY thin. I know somewhat about acrylic application and where my cuticle meets, she made it liquidy and it seeped above my cuticles. There was no second or third (stress) ball and it feels like my nails are going to break easily and painfully. She BARELY touched the cuticle up with the drill so i am going to fix it myself. I was so irritated but decided to just be quiet and polite and simply refuse to come back instead of criticizing her on what she already knows she should’ve done.
My bf tipped her 5 $ (too generous) her mood suddenly changed (was smiling and saying thank you) and i left. the nails were done, i was in a rush, and didnt want to ruin my weekend. I needed to share this experience however because as unpicky and kind (not to mention WELL-​TIPPING) of a client i am, i felt totally opposite of how i should feel at a nail salon/​spa: welcomed, special and beautiful. As much as i wanted to like this place, i definitely wont be back. The 2 stars i did give them was for the nice new and beautifully furnished interior. Thats it.

Where to start with this place… I’m a mom I work full time and need to get my kids ASAP after work so I make an appointment to be seen. I get there and wait 30 mins to even be seen. Finally I get placed with THE WORST NAIL TECH EVER if she should even be called that. I tell her I want matte black with glitter pink accent nails. When she started she was talking shit cause at first I said I wanted gel and changed it to matte so she was laughing to her friend saying I think matte is gel… The girl sitting next to me wanted a all 10 different colors she walked out frustrated cause she got one basic color… And again my nail tech was laughing at the situation. So as she begins to file I tell her I was them long and very squared… When I get up to wash my hands I see very flimsy nails that bend and that go narrow at the top I can’t even call it coffin cause of how bad it looked but it was similar to coffin style any good nail tech knows square apposed to coffin… So I tell her (is there any way we can fix this?) (the narrowness the thinness and some are slanting) I tell her (can we cut them to make them not look like this?) Instead she starts filing again. And omg they looked 10x worse… So I’m sitting her soooo upset I never get my nails done I hardly have the time but when I do I want them done right. I been getting my nails done since I was 10 you can’t play me with this… I tell her is there any way we can redo this I Really wanted long square nails. She looks at me and gives me the worst look and says (I can pay for these come back and get them redone) I say (for free right?) she says no so I laugh and say I’m not paying for anything I don’t like or not what I wanted… She tells me again (I need to pay and get the hell out) I’m in shock now ! You don’t treat ppl like that! So I tell her take them off then I’m not paying for these she gets clippers and starts to cut… Instead of soaking? So now I have to go to my original nail tech and pay for her to take this crap off and redo them… I pull my hand back as she’s cutting them she then tells me I need to pay for one hand now an get the hell out as she’s getting louder and rolling her chair towards me… Summing this up she starts cussing at me getting real brave with me. Her manager or who ever comes and asks what happened as I’m trying to explain to her I have this crazy ass lady yelling in my ear and tells me go with your father cause he’s going to be in a coffin… I left that palace shaking so mad!!! The manager said she would soak them off but at this point I have to go get my kids… I can soak them my damn self… And to mention 2 women that walked in and got completely ignored!!! This place is so bad OMG I will never go here again and I advise you all to stay away as well I had another girl on the other side of me too who had tons of light spots in her gel mani for real everyone and anyone stay far away!!!
GO TO THE RED PERSIMMON SALON IN THE TYLER MALL SEE HAILEY OR MARK THEY NEVER SEEM TO FAIL ME!!!

Walked in, there was about a 15 min wait. They had me sit on a pedi chair to soak my feet in the mean time.

It was my first time getting my nails done here. Made a reservation but still had to wait 20ish minutes… but they offer you water while you wait! I got white gel acrylic. It took around a hour and a half for them to finish. Overall, I like how my nails turned out. The staff there is nice and friendly. Will definitely come back !

Love it! Friendly staff and adorable prices! Went in for a gel color change. Been trying new places and my friend recommended this one. Selena I believe was the one that did my nails! Super cute and they have many colors to chose from! Even got a stamp card! Will be returning!

I have had the same girl doing my nails for 15 years and she moved away so I was very sad that I had to find someone else… so to Unilocal I went.
This nail shop feels and looks hip and cool, the deco and colors are nice. I walk in and it feels very hot, over 80 degrees and they all the doors open, but when you’re spending over $ 50 you want to make sure customers are comfortable, anyway back to the nails.
As usual the Vietnamese ladies are kinda rude but I’m already used to it. They have sooo many choices for gel its quite impressive, I choose the coffin style. I wish you can make an appointment with the famous Selena, but when I called they said it was walk in.
I’ve had them on for 2 weeks and they don’t file the cuticle part good, they have a hard edge around them but no lifting at all. I’m going to continue to go and hope to get a chance for Selena to do my nails.

Went today for a mani/​pedi. I had kathy. She seemed quite and straight to business. I showed her the pic of the design i wanted witch i got off their Unilocal page. She didnt do it like the pic at all… the base color was correct but the flower design was way off from what i wanted. it doesnt look bad just not what i wanted. Pricing is about the same as other places… i might try them again if the gel doesnt chip. I will have to see after a week how they last. I recommend you schedule cause i waited about 30 min. There was three other people waiting ahead of me but they walked out due to the wait. They seemed upset that they sat for awhile. Not sure how long they were waiting. I coukd only imagine how long i would of had to wait if they stayed. so schedule if u want to try them out. I will schedule next time and try someone other than kathy before i say that i wont be returning again.

Best nail salon ever! Always so satisfied and Salina is amazing at doing nails. I’ve been coming to her for more than a year and she’s amazing! My favorite nail salon ever. Everything is so clean and everyone is so sweet. Definitely recommend you guys to come!

I feel so bad I wrote a bad review on the wrong location but I’ll copy & paste my experience here.
[(I’ve tried so many nail salons at this point that is crazy. There is one nail salon in moval that I absolutely love and will be going back too.
I came to Envy Nails by recommendation. I’ve been here already 3 time.
The first time I got Gel black nails. which chips VERY fast. (2days later) The gel was on my skin and nails weren’t given enough black coats.
Second time I got a refill & got GEL Red.
(now I like Gel because they last «longer» atleast they should) the next day one nail broke off sooooo easily and the second day another nail broke and the color chipped. I dont know if they don’t know how to apply gel polish or if their gel polish is cheap. (I paid $ 35 for a fill one design and gel polish)
3^rd time I went yesterday night. I get embarrassed telling them if I don’t like something first two times I ignored it. Gave them a 3^rd time. One of my nails was cricket. I know damn well my finger is straight lol. Not even 24 later and I washed a few dishes at home and two nails are chipped gel is OFF. (I payed $ 29 for a fill and «gel» polish) I never had this problem at my previous place.
Staff are friendly, but with my last past experiences and all three being the same. I won’t be coming here again. I’m embarrassed to walk around with my nails broken and chipped.

I am a new resident to Riverside and having moved from San Diego I thought I would never find a new nail salon that could rival my home salon. I am glad that I was wrong, I first visited NV nails to get my eyebrows waxed and they did a wonderful job! I recently came back to get a regular manicure and pedicure and I really enjoyed my experience. I walked in right at 9:30am and there were 2 technicians willing and ready to service me. I walked out very happy with my choice to give them a chance.
Sometimes the technicians can get a little chatty with each other in their native language and it gets a little awkward but they did notice and started to include me in the convo. I didn’t mind the extra long message when she was talking however hahaha.
FYI they take cash and debit only. 50 cent fee for debit.

Being that I am Vietnamese and have family in the nail business, I have never paid for nail services. That’s besides the point because I don’t really like getting my nails done anyways; I enjoy buying nail polishes and just painting it myself. Even though I have family in the business, it’s still a far drive for me to make just to get a mani/​pedi so I’d rather just find a good nail place around the area. I have gotten a manicure before but never a pedicure, so my cousin and I decided to treat ourselves. We got an invite to attend the grand opening of NV Nails so we made a quick stop.
DETAILS
Located on University and Chicago right next to the Lee’s Sandwiches that’s opening soon. The shop is kinda small but how everything is arranged made it appear bigger than it actually was. The décor is simple, cute, and modern. The color of the paint was bright and colorful. Because it’s new, everything was clean, tidy, and neat. The ladies that work there are very friendly and they take pride in their work. I actually recognized some of the people that work here too since they used to work at Diamond Nails across the street. Since there was a grand opening, they had food and drinks. They served all of their customers food and I thought it was such a nice gesture to eat while I was getting a pedicure. You can tell that it’s not just a business, it’s also a family. The way everyone was interacting with one another you just know that they love what they do. They also have a lot of options for OPI and China Glaze nail polishes :)
PROCESS
I wanted to experience a pedicure so that’s exactly what I got. I was seated in the most comfortable chair that massaged my back. My feet were being soaked in warm water with jets and it made me feel at ease. The lady removed the nail polish that was already on my feet and then started clipping the skin around my toes. She was very gentle and made sure I was comfortable. She proceeded to scrub my feet and my calves and it made my feet feel so soft! My toes and feet look and felt amazing! I was very happy with the results. The prices were reasonable as well.
I don’t always get my nails done but when I do, I will return here. My experience was superb. I recommend UCR students or anyone around the area to give this place a chance.
