Magnolia Bird Farm

Took my 5 year old. The place was «ok» A little stinky and drab in the bird sanctuary, but I guess that’s to be expected. They could really spruce this place up with some plants or something! Anyway, the highlight for my son was the white talking parrot… he didn’t say much,“hi”, «bye» and «GOODbye» was all we could get him to say, but it was good fun for my kid.

We love this Place. The birds are healthy and well taken care of. We have 5 birds currently that we have bought from the bird farm, a parakeet, 2 parrolets, a cockatiel, and a conure.

Should be called the Magnolia Bird Factory Farm. Lots of birds in tiny, filthy cages. Outside flights seem better, but are also dirty and have nothing in them but a few perches and tons of birds. Wonder what percent of these birds end up with happy lives.

Been going here since they opened. Employees are extremely knowledgeable and friendly. They are busy and may need to wait a few minutes, but well worth the wait. Amazing family business!

I never had a bad day here. I bring my bird for wing clipping. I got my bird here a year ago and I am very happy with him. Cockatiels are great to have. They are not as needy as your bigger birds, and I owned 2 cockatiels for 18 years then they passed on. Very good with our other pet in the home and good with people.

One. of the best places to take middle-​aged kids when they are bored. We LOVE going here to look around, visit with the 100’s of birds they house, and sometimes learn a few important science facts. Love their-​family-​oriented focus.

Was referred to this location by Petco when I wanted to adopt a baby cockatiel. The staff that I’ve encountered are all very kind and knowledgable, although it can be disconcerting to approach them first to ask any questions, but in the end my questions were all answered thoroughly and it’s obvious that their first concern is the birds’ well-​being, safety, and comfort, which is great.
I just brought home a baby lutino tiel and have a cinnamon pied waiting to be weaned, and you are allowed to visit your baby in the weeks before it can be taken home if you already put the deposit down for it! The woman that helped us at the nursery, Carly, is extremely kind and helpful. Their other birds all come at what I think are really good and reasonable prices. You can also bring your birds in for free wing and nail clippings, and I will probably bring my birds here for boarding when I go on trips out of the country. If they took volunteers, I would be here all the time haha. I love this place!

Don’t know where to start…
We had a Field trip today with our summer camp friends and they enjoyed it. The birds were nice. Well taken care of as well
BUT our tour lady who didn’t introduce herself at the beginning (we had to ask her for her name) was not so kid friendly. I understand kids can be loud (so are birds) but kids will ALWAYS be kids. She showed frustration from the beginning. I seen her make faces at her staff when walking in front of us. Which i believe is very disrespectful. She didn’t like to be asked questions about BIRDS. I can go but One last thing she did was end our tour and say it was done and that we Could leave when we want and walked away. Won’t be going there again.

Best store in the country for bird owners! Great prices! Great products! Anyone who says negative things about the farm are just haters and need to get a life. This place is amazing and the people that work here are amazing!

It was babysitting day for us grandparents. We were looking for something to channel that energy for our two little ones, ages 2 ½ and age 1, a tricky accomplishment. We thought about mini straight jackets, but they would have turned us in.
Each and every time my grandkids come to my house, they are glued to our DVR of «Rio», a well done, fun and colorful animated film about exotic birds in the Amazon.
Visiting a bird farm… that’s it! Not too far, not an all day accomplishment, and a great conversation starter and learning tool!
So whether or not we were going to buy something was irrelevant. We were going there for a good time. And looking… is…free!
This is a large building with substantial parking lot. It is half store for bird owner’s fare, and half aviary. Inside the store there are a few large, beautiful birds sitting on perches where people can come up, face to face, and sometimes even touch and hold them. Back in the aviaries, you will find a multitude of exotic birds, parrots, cockatiel, finches, and even an iguana or two. Just like visiting a zoo. For maybe an hour.
So, I can recommend this, not so much from the consumer aspect, but for more of a field trip experience. One the whole family can appreciate. Just right for the little ones.

Love, love, love this place! I have a scarlet macaw and I can always find a variety of foods and toys for her. So much better than petco and petsmart. They also trim and cut nails there too. Amazing breeds to see and visit. Its kind of a bird zoo, if your looking for a pet bird, I highly recommend this place.

My kids and I have been here a few times, staff is very friendly. They let the kids pet the parrots. They educate them on what kind of bird there is and what they do… Very fun. Parrots are cute and friendly. A little stinky, but overall fun.

This place provides the information, service, and awesomeness that my birds deserve. They really care about birds and each other. The boarding seemed to work well for my flock. They didn’t give me the cold shoulder when I picked them up. :)

Sadly this place definitely lost stars for me. I’ve had nothing but good experiences here until today I saw somthing very unappealing. We were waiting to get some more parakeets for our aviary and the man in front of us getting parakeets was telling the employee who was getting them that he had to get more because all of his died. They died because he left them outside in freezing weather. He was jolly and half seemed to think it was funny. So the employee preceded to sell him like ten more birds.
I’m sorry, I get that they are a business and that not everyone is going to be a great bird owner but I don’t get them knowingly selling to someone who is going to abuse them. That’s just wrong.

I bought a wonderful African Grey parrot. She was a little aggressive at first but now has really warmed up to me and my husband. I feel really lucky to have her in my life. Even though the pregnant blonde girl working there said she didn’t like her, we have grown to love her. I renamed her Nala.

I love how friendly & knowledgeable the staff are. They have a great selection of food (both premium & generic), cages, toys, & supplies. They offer wing clipping, nail trimmings, as well as micro-​chipping & sexing services for your birds. I bought my green cheek conure from them, at a much more reasonable price than at the chain pet stores. I highly recommend them for anything bird related.

Updating my previous review. I went back after saying I never would but my parrots needed some new toys and they are so close. Anyway I am happy to update that they have cleaned the store up. I didn’t see any ants there and most of the parrots had some veggies and fruit (even treats) which are very important for them. Big improvement from last time.

I started by calling the store to inquire about bird harnesses and whether or not they had one to fit a Green Cheek Conure and whether or not I should bring my bird to assure that I got the right fit. The older woman who answered the phone seemed exasperated and put off that I had questions, and acted as if I was completely crazy for mentioning bringing my bird to assure a proper fit, and proceeded to tell me in a snotty tone that they don’t allow you to try it on your bird and people just buy them and take them home. When I told her that I lived an hour away and I just wanted to assure that my trip was not wasted she told me to hold on and put another lady on the phone who had no idea what I wanted so I again explained my query and was told that yes they do have them and yes they have them for small conures like Green Cheek Conures. So I made the hour long drive to the store.
First impression was that it was run down from the outside. Needing paint and general upkeep. It was a very large building housing aviaries and a retail facility as well as a clinic for health checkups and nail and wing clipping. Inside the retail facility it was dingy and dark, dimly lit. The floors are badly in need of repair. They had a lot of cages and toys. Quite a few people were milling about and there was a long line at the cashier counter of about 10 – 15 people. I found the harnesses and was immediately aggravated because it was obvious that they did not have the correct size! Every other size except the one I needed and had called and inquired about.
Good prices on toys but I won’t be driving an hour to save a couple bucks on some toys. I will not be going back again.
So to recap. Rude on the phone. Misinformed and or lazy staff will not tell you the correct info if you call. Dim and dingy, and generally not a good vibe at all. Personally I will order online or go to the local chain store before going back here.

The service is good and bad. The great reviews about customer is true and also the horrible ones. It sucks that service really depends on who you are talking to and especially their mood. It’s large place with everything you would ever need for your bird.
Had to exchange my male bird for a female twice. One time they were rude about it and the other time they were perfectly okay with it. It’s weird.
I will be coming back here because of the abundance of bird seeds but if I need to do a big purchase I need to find the right person who is in a good mood. I’ve seen both. Try not to get upset because if you come back the next day at a different time I can almost guarantee you a huge difference.
