Done Right Contracting

Had a new patio put in by brad and I am so happy with the outcome. Not to mention the fair price he gave me. I would recommend Done Right to my family and friends!!!

Done Right contracting is a great business to work with. Brad is a nice guy and get the job done fast and right. Pricing ain’t bad either. We have a newborn baby, so brad took that into consideration while doing our backyard and kept things quiet. Thanks Brad!!!

Brad of «NOT DONE RIGHT» Construction is a lying con artist. He ripped us off and then went on vacation and pretty much said «Don’t call me again». We hired him to remove our lawn and bark in our backyard and replace it with decomposed granite. There is a reason why his contract is so vague, not detailing the steps that should have been part of the process. The proper steps would have been to lay ½ in. DG, followed by watering and compressing on the first day, followed by the same procedures on day 2 and day 3, but it didn’t happen like that. He removed the grass and bark and then just laid dirt. He was overseeing what his 3 workers were doing, well he let them drop dirt over all our drains which would have become a very bad and expensive problem in the winter. He was dishonest about having rolled and compressed the DG, neither of these procedures appeared to have been done because it was like sand at the beach, you could kick it up, it never hardened, we ended up with soft, loose, and very expensive dirt. He came in quick and left quick, only a day and a half, he knew he found someone he can take advantage of. We immediately found good, honest, hard working landscape and concrete workers and we redid everything, these poor guys had to correct the mess Brad and his crew left underneath the dirt. I had read many bad reviews on Brad prior to hiring him and was very hesitant, however, my husband was in a rush to get something done and impulsively went with Brad only to regret it. Brad is not a good guy and does not stand behind his work, I wish it were possible to show negative stars.

Had Bradd put in a brick patio with steps in the back yard last week. Two thumbs up with the whole process. Four days later, part of the patio was breaking apart — there was an old buried sprinkler line that was busted underground. Not really Bradd’s problem or fault. He came over the NEXT day, helped me find and cap the line, then fixed the patio as good as new — breaking it apart, redoing the base layer, applying mortar, even cleaning up — for FREE. I had expected to have to pay. He had also noticed that I had some overspray issues on some of my sprinklers – and brought over and put on different heads — and this wasn’t why he was even hired — that’s great service! I would hire Bradd again.

Called him on a business matter and he was very short and rude to me. Even said his name was George. Called him back to speak with George… guess what? No George! All I know is that when you are in the service industry, every one is a potential client. In his defense tho, maybe he is just so busy, he doesn’t need new clients.

We just had our front and back yard spruced up and after having done business with Brad and Done Right Contracting, I will say that my experience was completely opposite and found Brad upfront and a pleasure to do business with. He was on time, performed the work as described and got exactly what I had in mind in place with the work we had done. I could not be more pleased.

I love my new patio! Brad from Done Right Contracting just finished installing pavers for my patio and he and his crew were very professional. They were on time, got the job done in a timely manner, and cleaned up after themselves. They were very detail oriented. What can I say — the job was done right. Thank you Brad!

EDIT: Changed my rating to 1 star after Brad didn’t reply to my messages. Drips were not installed correctly. One tree was missing a drip, and ALL drips were not staked so they blow all over the place with wind and water pressure! I asked him why he charged $ 800 for drips, which is TWICE more than others. «Because we’re top of the line and do it right!» Yeah, right. Done Right Contracting??? More like DONE WRONG CONTRACTING! Worst contractor ever…

He was mainly dealing with my husband, and was extremely rude to me demanding his money when the job was not fully completed. After he was paid we noticed some of the work was not done well, or fully. He was very threatening to me while I held my baby in my arms. Telling me that my husband should «man up» and pay him or he was going to get his friends. Brad should «man up» and not yell at a mother holding her baby girl. He has not responded to our messages. DO NOT hire this contractor!

We contacted Brad at Done Right and after talking with him. We liked his ideas. Now my walkways patio and cover are done. He changed my yard from plain to a very relaxing! The best is the firepit that he had built for us and it exceeded my expectations.

Well I usually write my reviews as the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly; unfortunately there was NO good to this story. So here ya go, I needed to get a gate built on the side fence of my house, and to have an area grated and prepped to park an RV on. I looked quite a few places and settled on Craig’s List, looking for companies that were local, as well as licensed and bonded. While I have no problem hiring someone that is neither, the last time I did I got four grand worth of cracked concrete, enough said. Anyway, I found Done Right Contracting on Craig’s list and gave them a call. After several calls back and forth a the owner came to my house and gave me a bid. It seemed a little bit steep: $ 2100 total, $ 1400 for grating and placing decomposed granite in my back yard and $ 700 to construct a gate, but I thought that since he was a licensed and bonded contractor with a long history in the field the job would be done right. WRONG!!! My first mistake was that I thought when you hired a licensed contractor that he would do the work, not so. He showed up with a 55+ year old hispanic gentleman who he quickly put to work while he «managed» the job site. Evidently this job was more than the gentleman signed up for because on the second day he failed to show up and I was told that he quit. Now, I was told, I would get a fantastic gate because the owner himself would be building it. (there are many words which I would use to describe the «gate» that he built me for $ 700, none of which are fantastic, nor would they be allowed to remain on Unilocal!so I will let you figure it out) Anyway, upon completion I came home and saw the finished products. First I called him to ask when he would complete the parking area and was told «it’s done». Looked like dirt on top of dirt, but I was told that was what decomposed granite looked like. OK, serves me right for not doing MORE research. Lets get to the $ 700 gate. First he left the original rotting 4×4’s and simply tied into them. Then he recycled the old hardware from my original gate and used it. And, oh yeah, the gate DOES NOT open. «Well, thats because of the weight of the treated wood. Call me in about 6 weeks and Ill take a look at it». What kind of mickey-​mouse outfit is this? I had to purchase wheels which I mounted to the bottom of the gate so that it would open, I had to purchase a lock to mount into the ground so that the gate would not swing forward when the wind blew. I had to call 4 times before the guy would even come back and look at it, to which he responded «look, your a long way away. I will get there when I get a chance, but you got what you paid for.» Well I beg to differ, I got a piece of crap 7^th grade wood shop project called a gate, built from $ 165 in treated lumber (much of which was discarded because he mis-​cut), that would not and could not open.
So, I guess what I am trying to pass along to you, the potential consumer, is that if you want to severely over-​pay for a project, the quality of which your daughters girl scout troop could complete in a day, and deal with a complete imbecile who cares nothing about the quality of his work or the name of his company; well you’ve come to the right place! Your better off spending $ 17.00 for the do-​it yourself book at Home Depot and hoping for the best.
