Chapman Hospice

Tried to refer Pt. to them. No answer to above phone

I had no idea what hospice was untill a wonderful lady from Chapman Hospice told us what it was. My mom was hospitalized because she was weak after having pneumonia. They were going to give her a feeding tube but after taking xrays of her stomach we were told that she was in the 4^th stage of cancer. They recommended hospice. I called my daughter-​in-​law and she recommended Chapman.
The staff were caring and professional. They made my mom’s journey back to God, pain free. I am so thankful!!!

ALL HOSPICE’S ARE NOT EQUAL
In November 2014 my mother was needing 24 hour care due to her terminal cancer. I was her only caregiver until I called hospice in. I chose another hospice for a day! The bed they sent did not work, the oxygen didn’t work. I spent more time on the phone replacing equipment and arguing with the admin in regards to equipment issues rather than spending valuable time with my dying mother. Fearful, and exasperated I fired them.
I called in Chapman hospice, they were truly the opposite from the first hospice. They sent perfect equipment. Continual care, both in person and the administrator was the best! she even offered (out of her own pocket) «a hand held shower for the ease of my mother». «They were my only rock during the worst time of our lives, both my mothers and mine.
Chapman Hospice made it easy as it ever could be, for both caring and losing a loved one. The nurses (everyone) went out of their way to make sure that my mother «had a say in her care» with their compassionate staff they made sure my mother passed with comfort, love, dignity and respect. For that I will be ever grateful
They sent daily assistance, lavender massages for my mom, nurses, medication or needed supplies where right there when we needed them. Believe me, they were there to help on the spot! They sent Chaplains, Social workers and Family counseling offering every assistance that they could during the most trying time of my life.
We just don’t know these things, until we have to experience it and by then, for me and my mother it was too late, we had too little time to research and learn all the necessary legal and medical information before, during and following my mothers death. In our case it was sudden, and we were not prepared for the journey ahead.
When my mother got too hard for me to handle alone due to her death anxiety, they sent nurses to be with me and my mother in 8 hour shifts until she passed with ease and comfort. They were there for myself and my family during and they still are 3 months following her passing. They call me to see how I’m doing, offering me grieving counseling if needed. (Everything that they do and provide is covered by Medicare/​Medicaid as well as all other insurances.)
Please, do yourself and your loved one favor when you have to go through this «inevitable time in your lives or the end of life». Please realize that «ALL HOSPICE’S ARE NOT EQUAL». This «time» is hard enough for everyone in your family without having to deal with more worries and issues from other Hospices.

The BBB gave this service an A-.WRONG should be an A++, My mother spent her last couple days in her own bed and with the Loving care Of Chapman Hospice employees help made my Father feel at ease with the end of her life coming. From the First person to the last, Chapman employees had great compassion for our
Family and Took care of Everything. After 62 years of marriage my Father did not feel alone in this day of morning and thats because of CHAPMAN Hospice.
