California Baptist University believes each person has been created for a purpose. CBU helps students discover and live this purpose by providing a Christ-centered educational experience that integrates academics with spiritual and social development opportunities. Graduates are challenged to become individuals whose skills, integrity and sense of purpose glorify God and distinguish them in the workplace and in the world.
Founded in 1950, CBU offers more than 100 undergraduate majors and concentrations as well as 25 graduate majors and teaching credentials. More than 4,700 undergraduate and graduate students learn from expert Christian instructors in a wide range of disciplines including accounting, business, engineering, graphic design, marketing, music, nursing and theology. CBU is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges as well as numerous accrediting. The university consistently ranks in the top U.S. News & World Report’s Best Colleges Rankings.

Established in 1950.
1954: California Baptist College chartered by the State of California
1955: CBC moved to Riverside campus from El Monte
1961: CBC receives full regional accreditation granted by the Western College Association
1984: Accreditation granted by National Association of Schools of Music
1995: CBU enrollment reaches 1,000
1996: California Baptist University becomes first college on West Coast to receive accreditation by Association of College Business Schools and Programs
1997: CBU enrollment reaches 2,000
1998: California Baptist College officially became California Baptist University
2005: School of Nursing added to academic program
2007: School of Engineering added to academic program
2009: CBU enrollment exceeds 4,000
2010: College of Allied Health added to academic program
