Bogner Pools

This is a little late, but Unilocal wasn’t available 13 years ago when Bogner Pools built our pool. I’m writing this now as I sit outside enjoying it now as much as I did then. Our entire experience was great and they only took 7 weeks, start to finish, to build. That’s what set them apart from the rest– they didn’t schedule the work to start until they could be there every day until it was done. They also only collected 10% up front and didn’t collect the rest until it was time to plaster. (Most companies take more up front with installments along the way which offers little incentive to finish the job quickly.) I’ve had to call Bogner with questions or for maintenance advice over the years and they have always treated me as if they were trying to earn my business. A+

This is the second pool I’ve had Bogner design and build for me. I personally know several other people who have used Bogner over the years to build their pools also. I highly recommend them, you know you’re getting quality work, a pool built the right way, in a timely manner and for the best price.

I am not a «Yelper», so I hope my review makes the cut; Bogner deserves the credit. I was to referred to Bogner by a friend/​coworker who was equally pleased by the finished product. I had never heard of Bogner before, and likely neither have you, but don’t let that steer you away.
Chad was our designer and salesman. My wife and I described our «vision» and theme to Chad as he unknowingly sketched away. One «must» was a rock slide/​waterfall. Within 30 minutes of talking to him, he showed us the rough sketch which was exactly what we had envisioned. We discussed our budget and options, and after a couple of weeks, we signed a contract. I did contact two other pool contractors for piece of mind, but Bogner’s balance of price and features could not be beat. Of course, we spent more than we planned, but we expected that.
Over the next few weeks, a series of subcontractors visited our property. I will say that each group was respectful and professional. Each group of workers seemed to take pride in their respective professions. I was particularly impressed by the team of guys that worked on the decking and coping, Klovenko. I spoke with Jim, who praised the Bogner company for supporting him and his family since the 70’s, though good times and bad. He spoke highly of Owner Joe and the rest of the staff. Joe came to the sight on the first day, and throughout the project, which really impressed me. I got the impression he truly cared about delivering a top notch product to his costumers. This type of leadership is contagious, which explains the quality of the workers he employs.
We were given a time estimate of 8 – 12 weeks. From the front office, Yvette keep us up-​to-​date on the construction schedule and all workers showed up and finished as scheduled. The only delay was my fault; otherwise the project would have been complete within 8 – 9 weeks. Even with a two week delay, we finished in less than 12 weeks.
Of course, there were some minor issues that arose during the construction process; expect them. My main problem had to do with water pooling and grading within the project area. No matter how good the design, or how skillfull the workers are, these minor issues will arise. What impressed me with Bogner, and particulary with Yvette, is the responsiveness to the issues I identified. She immediately responded to my calls and emails and brought them to Joe’s attention. Within hours, the problems were addressed. The drainage problem was handled by a crew who installed an additional drain. I will say you can expect a mess throughout the process. That is inherent to the type of work being performed. Close your eyes and ignore it; you will be left with a beautiful finished product. Bring any issues to the attention of Bogner staff and they will be addressed.
My wife and I are very happy with the finished pool, and we are glad we found the right company to complete the project. Shop around, but make sure Bogner is in your list of bidders. I cannot say they are the least expensive (they were for me), but I can say they will provide a top notch product, on time, with outstanding customer service. I can say with confidence that the company is committed to the profession and to customer service.

I had a pool, spa, waterfall, and cement floor put in a year and a half ago and my experience was fantastic. My pool light malfunctioned (which past the one year warranty) but Yvette said they would take care of it anyways and had someone over the very next day to take care of it. I tell everyone who is even slightly interested in a pool about Bogner, they are truly awesome.

Honestly, the one star they do deserve is for the pool refurbishing. Our pool is beautiful. So, why just one star? Well, when you want to make something old new, you make everything new, right? They did a little re-​plumbing, but left a couple of old valves (one was leaking). Also, pool filtration system not working properly. Diatomaceous earth pouring into pool and spa every time pump starts up. Contacted Bogner about DE pouring back into spa and pool months ago. They told us to contact the filter manufacturer to see if they have a fix for the filter. After getting the run-​around, I finally got Bogner to send out an authorized Pentair man to fix our filter problems. After taking apart the first filter and putting it back together, we had the same problem. So, Pentair replaced the filter with a new filter. Nice, except that we had the same problem. So, Bogner sent out Steve, who by the way, talks super fast, like a used car salesman who just pounded a 12 pack of monster energy drinks, and asks me to give him 2 weeks to figure out what the problem is. He cleaned our filter (that idea had already been exhausted,) then after making a colossal mess in our back yard, down our driveway, down the sidewalk in front of our neighbors, he said «I will be back tomorrow to clean up the mess.» He blamed me for not having a long enough hose. He never showed up the next day and I called a REAL pool contractor to come out. I had this contractor come out and examine my pool and equipment. The contractor I called, could not understand why Bogner didn’t replace the old plumbing. This contractor, spent 5 minutes, looking at my pool, spa, and equipment, and inserted a $ 20 stop check valve. This is all my pool needed. Not only that, the other pool contractor cleaned Steve’s huge mess without me even asking. I asked Steve about a stop check valve. His response? «I can put one in, but it won’t work for very long. Give me two weeks to figure out what is wrong…» Thanks to the other contractor (not Bogner), my pool and spa water is crystal, crystal clear!
Now, the 1 star. Beautiful facelift yes, but, service was horrible and service guys very shady. Should have replaced all valves so that everything was refurbished, taking months and months and never resolving my filter problem which merely took a stop check valve!!! Will never do business with this company ever again… I don’t like to deal with people who pretend to know what they are doing and talk to me like I’m some kind of idiot!

Bogner Pools built a new pool for me this summer. I started the process by working with Chad. From the start, the process was very easy and went very smoothly. Everyone that I dealt with was very knowledgeable. Bogner is a family company and they have been building pools since the ’60’s. That experience shows. They know and explain everything very well. No surprises. They are a team that I can rely on. Everyone, both company employees and subcontractors, were a pleasure to work with. I am extremely happy with the results. Thanks Bogner!

They say you don’t get a second chance to make a first impression and Chad from Bogner pools certainly made an excellent first impression.
He came out to our house, computer in hand and spent 3 hours taking measurements, going over the design in detail and discussing options. By the end of his visit, we had a full 3D rendering of what our yard would look like when finished. We were very impressed.
Three days later we went to his office to discuss the details. He had a huge sheet of paper — a blue print sized drawing of our back yard and the pool. He went over the drawing with us and explained everything in detail. Then he showed us the price — we were mildly surprised. We had gotten several other estimates and theirs very reasonable and by far, the most comprehensive. Every single item was broken down by major piece, the pool, fire pit, concrete, BBQ etc. Each major component was further broken down by size, length and quantity. It really made us feel confident they knew exactly what they were doing and they weren’t trying to hide anything. It also provided us the ability to pick and choose things to fit our budget. After a few changes and some negotiation, we were ready to move forward.
If anybody has dealt with Home Owners Associations, you know what a pain they can be. Chad had plenty of experience in this department and 2 days later he provided us with an HOA ready design and set of plans. They were approved without problem.
The construction process went relatively smooth. Every worker and sub-​contractor that came out to the house was friendly and courteous. They had all worked with Bogner for many years and knew exactly what they were doing. They were very professional and extremely competent in their craft.
Another thing worth noting here, if you’ve ever had major construction work done to your home, then you know that most company’s use sub-​contractors. Normally a sub-​contractor will place a lien on your property until they are paid in full. Even if you pay the General Contractor, if they in turn, don’t pay the sub — you’re on the hook. You usually find this out when you get a Notice of Lien from the County Recorder’s Office. You can find plenty of horror stories on the internet about this.
But not with Bogner — they pay all their sub-​contractors up front AND they give you a Release from Liability for each sub that works on your project. There are no Liens or worries that some plumber will show 3 months down the road because they didn’t get paid.
Speaking of payments — I liked the way Bogner broke down their payment schedule into three milestones. The first payment was not due until after they completed digging and pouring the Gunite. The second one after everything was done and the final one at the very end — after training was complete. This is a great way to pay. They don’t work — they don’t get paid.
Naturally there were a few hiccups along the way, but when I called Bogner, they worked with me to resolve the issues. It served as a good warning to keep a close eye on these things during construction.
In the end, 11 weeks later and right on schedule, I was swimming in my pool and cooking on my new BBQ. The pool is beautiful and the quality of construction is excellent. We are very happy.
Weeks later and after the fact, there were a couple of issues and they came out right away and took care of them. They stand behind their product and are very responsive.
I would highly recommend going with a reputable and professional builder like Bogner. They have been in business and in the area for over 25 years and it shows.

If you need any pool project done, I would highly recommend Bogner Pools. My pool service company told me my pool was leaking. I had 4 different pool companies come out to try to fix the leak in the pool and paid about $ 1,000 trying to detect the leak. No one could figure out what was wrong with the pool. Bogner Pools was recommended to me and they were extremely kind and professional. Joe showed up to help me and was able to diagnose what was wrong with the pool immediately and able to fix the problem. Joe was able to explain to me how the pool worked and what was wrong in a way no one else was able to do. He actually cared about me as a person even though he did not know me at all. Bogner Pools is the most reliable and professional company you will find and seem to know more about pools than any other pool company. I would never use another company other than Bogner. Thank you for your help Joe and Bogner Pools! I wish there was something more I could do to let people know about your amazing company.

We had a pool built by Bogner in 2002. It was a wonderful experience. Even after 12 years our pool is beautiful and works great!

Working with Bogner Pools was a dream! From the initial meeting with Chad to the final start up with Bob (and everyone in between) everything for us on our end was smooth and effortless. They were great in letting us know when things were scheduled to happen, and everything happened when they said it would. If we had a question or concern, it was answered promptly and always to our satisfaction. All of the contractors were very nice and always cleaned up after themselves at the end of the day. Our pool and spa turned out beautifully thanks to Bogner. We LOVE it!
What made us choose Bogner? First, they are a local company that has been around for a long time. Second, we went into their showroom before any of us new that we would be doing business together. Everyone there was so friendly and helpful, took the time to answer our many questions. But what really hooked us was their integrity as a business. On their website they have a section called «Pool Shopping Tips» that gives you a list of things to look for in a pool builder. And when we visited the showroom that first day, they said if we didn’t go with them to make sure to check out who we go with. They knew we had choices, but they weren’t pushy at all.
I would highly recommend Bogner Pools to anyone that asks. In fact, our neighbor was so impressed with what he saw, he’s now having them build a pool for him too!

Thank you Bogner Pools! The process from start to finish was very professional and friendly. Chad come out and interviewed us to see what type of pool would suit our needs and taste. Within an hour or so he had a draft for us to view. Chad helped us make a few minor changes and we were set.
The calendar of events was set up and it was going to be about 6 – 8 weeks. They were extremely flexible and if it did not fit our schedule they were more than happy to adjust.
The subcontractors where very friendly and professional. Their work was excellent and they cleaned up every day. We made changes to the decking and all it took was one phone call.
Bob gave my wife a very thorough pool start up class which my son video taped since I was out of town that week. I viewed the video when i came back into town. He went through the entire system and made it completely clear on how to properly maintain our new pool.
The bottom line is the pool was done in 5 weeks and looks great in our backyard. Our friends love it as much as we do and we will definitely recommend Bogner Pools to anyone interested in having pool built!

We had a pool installed this year by Bogner Pools. The pool is decent, but the process building the pool was sub-​par.
In the beginning my wife told the sales rep that we wanted a future fire pit by the jacuzzi and that we wanted a gas connection to be available by the jacuzzi. Long story short, his idea of a convenient location was a $ 2 capped tee off the pool heater which is about 50 feet away from the proposed location of the fire pit. When the foreman and I noticed the plans did not include a gas line to be laid. I was told by the sales rep that it was going to cost another $ 700-​$ 800 to lay the line… even though the plumbers were already at the house with the trencher etc.
During the process of building a pool, the pool gunite has to be kept moist, but the unfinished pool was also utilized as a trash pit for the used form board, etc. Obviously the water is going to turn brackish. Bogner’s temporary solution? Pour bleach into it. Supposedly, this is the way all pools are built by Bogner and the junk is cleaned out before the pool is plastered
Some of the work performed by the electrician was sloppy and he had to be called out to redo some of the work. While most the concerns were primarily cosmetic (routing conduit above ground to avoid removing a chunk of foundation) The poor choice of joints connecting the power to the heater and pump and the lack of glue to seal the conduit below ground… makes me a little concerned about the electrical work that I cannot see.
The employees at Bogner are super friendly for the most part and the finished pool looks nice. The other subcontractors involved with the pool did top notch work. Bottom line, with any contractor be sure to stay on top of the project and get everything in writing prior to the start of the project, so you aren’t missing anything like a gas line…
