STORAGE. expensive in LA, cheap in Riverside! my unit at Public Storage went up 30% in 2 years. as a student, i decided it was time to do something about it, and now cut my cost by more than half. 24⁄7 Storage gives you access to your stuff 24/7, though you need to give them a couple hours’ notice if you wish to come after business hours. there are drive-ups with roll-up doors or inside units with roll-up doors. everything looks relatively new, and this is one of the two places i found that offer CLIMATECONTROL. i visited many storage units out here and most of ‘em were too dirty for me with cobwebs and sheetrock walls. the wall material is important because it’s easy for someone to break through wall board to gain access to neighboring units. a place on Mission i visited seemed to be gang-infested territory due to the graffiti and barbed wire and it butts up to the freeway. and high-pressure sales tactics when they showed me around, but the walls were flimsy sheetrock with space between the sheets where i could see into the unit next door! and when i asked, the only security cameras were in the front of the property, where the office is. here, cameras throughout. super clean and the staff is cool. they live on the premises, which seems to be the norm out here. the office closes at 5pm Saturdays and 3pm Sundays, which i thought odd due to weekends being the natural choice for move-ins, but they tell me not so. insurance is not required but available through a third party or your homeowners/renters insurance. pay in person or via credit card over the phone. sure they’ll do recurring credit card payments if you ask nicely. online payment not available. this company is located on sort of a STORAGEROW, with several storage places in quick succession. that makes it eaay to shop and compare. i wouldn’t bother with any other place, though, since this one has pretty much everything. kind of afraid to Unilocal this place since i don’t want rates to go up from demand! but it’s just too good to keep to myself, and i wish success for the owners of this nice facility. happy Unilocaling and here’s to tasting life! :)
