My father was a resident at the Methodist for over two years, first in rehab, then in long-term care. Without their consistent attention, he would have never survived the stage IV bedsore he developed while in assisted living(at another facility). The care was professional, kind, and consistent. I would recommend Methodist without hesitation. It helps to be a very involved family and we did have a private aide for 5 hours a day who was exceptional.

Unfortunately my elderly mom with dementia was placed into this facility. What a bad situation. The nursing staff did not do their jobs. My mom was constantly being sent to the psych ward as a ploy to hide their incompetence. I would visit my mom and she would be always sitting in her room soaking wet and reaping of urine. My mom became withdrawn. On many occasions she would have to go to the ER because the nursing staff simply did not monitor her blood sugar levels. The care and the staff at the Methodist Home for Nursing and Rehabilitation sucks from the nursing director to the social service dept. The medical doctors are incompetent and don’t know one thing about treating the elderly. Do not place your loved one in the dump. I said, do not place your loved on in the Methodist Home for Nursing and Rehabilitation. The CNA staff is lazy and spiteful. The nurses here are lazy and incompetent. My mom was being over medicated. After one last unjustified visit to the ER we decided to remove her. The nursing care in nursing homes really should be reevaluated. Horrible treatment of the elderly.

My aunt is cared for in the Methodist Home for Nursing and Rehabilitation. At first, we were apprehensive to have her placed in a nursing facility. However, after seeing the wonderful care my aunt receives at the Methodist Home and observing how well all the personnel know the details of her case, The Methodist Home will always have my highest of recommendations. They are truly one of the rare nursing facilities that genuinely care about the people they look after. Mary Plate

This is a warm, welcoming and caring environment in the heart of beautiful Fieldston, Riverdale. The CNA staff are kind, gentle and attentive. The private rooms with their in room bathrooms are well maintained. The PT staff are conscientious, watchful and interested in each of their charges and their services are offered twice per day every day but Saturday(once per day) and Sunday(none). There is a beautiful church for those in need. The grounds are beautiful. The parking is generally easy but it is a small lot. The food and food service is quite good providing well balanced, tasty meals with attention to dietary restrictions. The medical and social services team communicate well with family members and include them in all decisions in a timely manner. All in all, this is a wonderful resource where the patient’s dignity is a priority and the family’s questions are always addressed. They are email and telephone ready. The Methodist will always be our first choice!
