Was OK… just went into look because I was never there… saw it on the news throughout the years from all the protesters because its the closest to Chicago– great advertisement! In the end I’ve been to better gun shops– salesman showed me a gun for concealed carry because I had complaints on what I had– made the purchase and very happy. They need to clean the range and also a better supply of bullets– didn’t have what I wanted. All in all– it was fair and I would go back.

It was fair. After reading all the negative reviews i was a little sceptical about going. The usual place i go too was giving classes and was booked up. Will i go back. Not as a first choice. But got a range very fast. They kept my foid card until i was leaving. Strange but ok. Most places just check your card. The ventilation not good. The range had tons of shell casings. Need to be cleaned more.

Not a bad place to come and shoot your firearms on any day. The staff are really cool and laid back. If you have any question they will more then happy help you out and show around the weapons. Very big selection of firearms to rent and try out. The only real problem is prices!!! Their a lot of other gun shop who sell some of the same gun cheaper then chuck and I mean 100 to 150 cheaper too. So I would definitely do some price checking from other gun store before you go in. But overall a really nice place and staff.

Sent them an email inquiring about a particular gun and price, I never received an answer, I don’t consider that good service, rather no service.

I started going to Chuck’s because I live in Chicago, and there are no gun shops or shooting ranges within the city limits. Chuck’s is the closest to me, and it’s a well stocked and friendly place. It’s often busy, but I’m happy they are. I drop by maybe once a month or six weeks, but they know me, know my name, and are a pleasure to deal with. The shooting range is very old school [hand-crank target holders] and small compared to more modern ranges I’ve seen in the suburbs, but I don’t mind at all. They always have a good selection of new and used firearms and most commonly used ammo.

Pretty good selection of pistols and kit in the shop. The lanes are decently lit but still have the old school hand cranks(really?) Price is average for the area. I shot there once alone and the second time I brought my son. We were told that he could only fire rifle since he’s under 18– «house rules». We politely left and went to another range. Nice enough staff, but there are other places closer to home for me to patronize. OK, their choice. Not a bad place, but there are better.

Been there a couple times. Actually the place where I applied for my FOID card. Only needed 20 bucks and a id or drivers licence. People are nice and helpful. They also have a wide selection of pistols and shotguns even rare finds that you would think no one would have. I recommend this place to anyone.

Not a bad place to go practice with a target or two. Prices a little high. Sometimes a big crowd. But, definitely a good place to go let of some steam.

If your a minority do not go here. My experience is that some members of the staff were not friendly, have poor customer service skills, poor attitudes, and are rude. To them your just another blank that wants to buy or shoot a gun.

My fiancé and I went to Chuck’s to do some window shopping, when he asked the man behind the counter to hold a gun, the man said he was acting weird and we were totally offended. My fiancé has an FOID card and was treated like a hoodlum on the street. When a group of thug-looking men walked in, they were greeted with nothing but kindness and were even offered some free magazine subscriptions! And even after we decided to make a purchase, the clerk proceeded to talk down to us as if we wouldn’t be able to afford the item that was chosen. All in all, we made the purchase but will not be returning to Chuck’s Gun Shop & Pistol Range.

Tried to have a gun transferred from Indiana there and they refused because they sell the model of the gun I was transferring there. Very bad business and unprofessional. They are just mad that I didn’t buy the gun there for $ 200.00 more than Cabela’s. Maybe quit trying to rip people off and you’ll get more business.

Nice place to go to fire off a few rounds. Bring your own eye protection and ear plugs if you go often. Small but very stocked with what you need to bust a cap in a home intruder.

I went there today and they are knowledgeable I can say that but the customer service was horrible. Their is a really weird guy with glasses that was helping us and he was very rude. I know you have to be careful who you sell pistols to but don’t look like everyone is a criminal when they come in to ask questions about merchandise. I will never go there again. Knowledge is good but the way you treat your customers is better and they don’t give off a friendly atmosphere.

I just came back from the shooting range at Chucks Gun shop and just have to warn you that there is no air conditioning in the shooting range while all the wonderful employees are the front of the store helping customers. I felt like I was in a furnace and couldn’t see out of my glasses because they were too steamed up to see the target. I left pissed

Like most gun shops the staff is extremely helpful and funny. At Chuck’s it no different. They are really nice and knowledgeable. They have a decent selection of pistols and shotguns. The shooting range is well lit, much better than some of the other ranges around Chicago. It’s not as pricey and you can really have fun firing off a few rounds, especially during the week when its slow. It’s not in the best area, but if your from Chicago, your ust to it and its not that bad. Besides, you are going to a gun shop, you are not an easy target. if you don’t feel like driving to East Dundee to go to G.A.T then Chuck’s is your place.
