Antigua Event Center

I just had my wedding here on October 17^th and i’m super glad i chose this venue. The food was unbelievable and delicious (chicken & tri-​tip). All of the guess wanted seconds. Not only that but the decorations were spot on and Herman was super flexible with moving things around.
I can’t thank Herman and his crew enough. They pretty much took care of almost everything for the reception and took a large amount of stress off my back!
The location of the center was great as well. Lots of parking and no cars driving by or loud noises from major road ways. Plus, with John Meyers Park just a few blocks away, we didn’t have to go to far for our family photos.
If you’re looking for a venue for your special day, i highly recommend you taking the time to drop by this location and give it a shot. Just remember to provide them with your event agenda early.

Antigua is also very easy to decorate very elegant..

came to the event hall on numerous occasions and have found them to have lovely decorations and the staff to be super sweet and helpful. It is a beautiful venue and the attention to detail for receptions was beautiful.

Antigua event center is a beautiful venue however they are quick to book you and take your money. I canceled my event 7 months in advance and it was on a Saturday. He booked it right away (I know because I would call and be discreet about it) he refused to give me any of my 1000 $ deposit back even though that is part of the agreement. If we cancel and he books we get our deposit. After me bugging and bugging he finally gave me 200 $ then I keep bugging because that is not right at all, he tells me the date is still open even though he’s told me plenty of times when I called (discreetly looking for a venue same day) that it is clearly booked! I won’t ever recommend this venue for the simple fact that they mean nothing they say about refunds. Get everything down in writing. I lost 800 $ for my deposit when he took Someone else’s deposit quick!
Update:
I got a call from the owner stating he seen my post and wanted me to take it off. I find it funny because all the messages I left for him to return my calls I never got anything, if I would have knows all I had to do was tell my story on Unilocal then I would have done so a long time ago. I refused of course. He told me the date is still not booked. He said «it was booked then wasn’t then was then wasn’t» his exact words. If it was booked before and now it’s not then I wonder if he kept their deposit also? Hmm

We just held our 2^nd daughter’s wedding reception at Antigua and it was PERFECT! Our older daughter’s reception was held at a country club at which we were members, but the attention we got from Herman far surpassed even our membership-​status at the country club! Every detail was calmly and reasonably handled. We ran out of wine (due to my own mid-​calculation) and without the guests even realizing, Antigua just made wine appear seamlessly! They kept me from great embarrassment. The food was wonderful, and even though we had nearly 200 guests, everyone’s plate was delivered hot and expediently! I can’t say enough good things about Antigua. Every time I called, I IMMEDIATELY spoke with the owner whose answer was always, «No problem!» A dream venue! It frankly does not look impressive from the outside, but the decorations and beautiful table settings make it like a fantasy-​come-​true inside! My only regret is that we are done hosting weddings; however, I will think of fun occasions to celebrate there just for the wonderful time they can guarantee!

I decided to edit this post simce I was contacted about it. This event hall is a nice place and decided to do my engagement party here.
I gave them my $ 1000.00 deposit to save the date which fell on a friday. In the contract it stated I had 30 days to cancel with them I believe to get full refund.
After a month we found out a family member was suffering with terminal illness. They only were given a few months to live and we knew we had to cancel things out.
I called the owner and explained to him the situation and begged him to understand and give my deposit back. After talking to him a few times he agreed to only give back 500.00. He gave me 250 at the day I went in and said the other 250 I would get on the events date. I was very upset.
I asked him why he couldn’t pay me the full amount he explained «I lost a date». Which I dont think is true because he even said on thw phone people wanted the date way before me (but never booked it) and after I canceled people wanted satirdays not fridays. Which means he didn’t lose a date people just didn’t want a friday.
He did tell me if he booked the date he would give me full refund. But how often people want a friday?
Overall, I think they could have handled it better. Some sympathy? I got every other deposit back even though they did lose a date but they could understand our relative passed away of cancer. The owner gave me an option later saying he would keep the other 500 and said we could choose a diff. Date but the problem is in my culture we cannot celebrate after a year amd my wedding is already booked exactly an year away from our relatives passing away.

Herman and his staff is 1^st Class. From the time we signed the contract until our wedding day everything was as described. He was very easy to work with and very accommodating. The food was outstanding. We chose the American Plate, which came with Tri-​tip, Chicken with a mushroom sauce, Rice, Veggies, dinner roll and salad. We couldn’t have asked for more.
The venue was decorated just as he said it would. His servers added a special touch by wearing our wedding colors.
Although the night before our wedding had another event, Herman made sure we had access on Thursday to rehearse. On the day of the wedding he opened up early enough so we could decorate with no issues at all.
We even forgot some items and he emailed and told me he had them for us.
I highly recommend Herman and his staff. Great venue, price and service.
If we ever need another event center, I will be calling The Antigua Event Center. I have already referred my friends who are getting married soon.

I was here for a family wedding… and was impressed by how the staff at this venue is polite, attentive to their guests needs, professional, and how they make things move along. There’s plenty of parking for guests. I want to point out that from the outside it doesn’t seem as if this place can accommodate 200 guests comfortably, but once one goes inside, one will see that there is plenty of room. I’ve rated this place as five stars because I, my sister, and my parents enjoyed the venue with the rest of the family.

The Antigua Event Center is a beautiful building located in downtown Riverbank, CA. It is very clean, elegant and spaces. I’d honestly have to say that it’s one of the nicest halls that we have had the privilege to DJ at till this day! I give it four stars and two thumbs up!
