St Luke Parish School

We love St. Luke School (A Blue Ribbon School). The principal and teachers are kind, caring educators and prepare students for success in high school (we have wonderful choices in our community, both public and private). Judge the school by its end product. Visit the school and you will be very impressed with the 8^th grade students. Overall, they are thoughtful, intelligent and respectful teenagers and we are very pleased with our children’s education. We continue to send our younger children to St. Luke School. We hope you choose St. Luke School too. 2001 — present.

Our second year w/​St Luke and we love it. The principal this year, she has gone above and beyond with education, fundraising and also she is 100% anti bullying. Parents are involved in all activities. With St Luke my children will gain confidence, education, spiritual guidance and lifelong friends

I thought it was just me… Glad to know other people feel the same way. This school is made up of the most ignorant and racist people i have ever meet. One day my daughter peed on herself, on accident. She was only five. The ignorant people at St. Luke“s made her stand in a corner by herself… The refused to change her or touch her, as if she had a disease. Granted she was in kindergarten… They refuse to touch her, talk about building self-confidence…The only cater to Italian people from Melrose Park, that is for sure. They have nothing to offer in any form of education. They have a very poor extra curricular activity program and no computer programs, as well. The tuition is extremely over priced and does not provide any type of educational advantage, which they brag about. My daughter was bullied at this school. I had a conference with the principal and she did nothing about it.

In regards to the education and resources, they are not bad. The teachers care about the kids and the ciriculums are reasonably appropriate for the kids. I had two of mine go there (kindergarden and 1^st grade) and they had a good time. They made good friends and they are still in touch with them today.
Eilish B. should stuff her opinion where the sun doesn’t shine, unless she actually had her kids go there (Who are you to make a comment when your kids haven’t even attended that school, unlike your review when you actually set foot in the Blue Max Café??)
But there are issues in the school where there are parents/​families who donate huge sums of money and they feel entitled to get their way because they are supporting the church/​school. The principal (former) fell victim to that and let herself get railroaded by those families, because the children of these families were bullies. Dropping the hammer on these bullies could have ment the families ceasing their extravagant donations.
We left that school, fortuantely before this drama hit the fan. Our kids were out-​pacing their peers and they were bringing home bad habits. I don’t know how it is now, but they are searching for a new principal and more than one teacher has left because of the church’s/school’s unwillingness to deal with the bully children and bully families.

We knew the moment we walked in that this was the right school for our kids. The principle has been at the school for 20 years. First as a teacher, then moving her way up to running the school. There is a great mix of parents, and teachers. This will be the place where my children remember Their greatest days.
