Keystone Montessori School

My 3 year old just started in the primary program at Keystone. We attended an open house in August, which I highly recommend for anyone considering Keystone. We met the teacher and also toured the classrooms, gym, etc. All the teachers are AMS and/​or AMI certified. Since starting I’ve been very happy with the program, teacher, and community at Keystone. Parents seem to be very involved with the school and a parent’s club puts on several fundraising/​community events throughout the year. So far so good, highly recommend Keystone to anyone looking for a quality Montessori education.

I love this school, and I think it is a great alternative for Chicago parents who really want a Montessori education but are either wait-​listed or would prefer a smaller school environment.
It is well located and easily accessible from the city.
My son has been attending Keystone since he was two years old (he’s now 5) and I couldn’t be happier. There’s a great sense of community at the school and all the teachers know all the kids, even if they’re not in their class. It’s a great feeling to drop off my kid every morning and know without a doubt that he’s in a loving and caring environment while his academic skills continue to grow. Multi age classrooms do wonders for kids who love to learn independently and can move ahead in the classroom.

You are either an advocate of Montessori education, or you are not, there are few that are simply neutral on the subject. I happen to weigh in very heavily towards Montessori.
Keystone is actually larger than many Montessori schools which often occupy part of a building or use a relativiely small facility. Sadly, some use the Montessori name yet do not use Montessori materials and hire certified teachers. I am very happy that neither of these unfortunate conditions occurs at Keystone.
My daughter attends here and has always worked well independently. attending Keystone merely supplements that. The facility is well-​maintained and there is a very good parent network.
Wonderful reuse of an abandoned bridal salon, giving it enough space for multiple class groups and ages, as well as multi-​purpose room upstairs in the gymanasium. The teachers and assistants are very dedicated to promoting Montessori values and independent learning.
