Meet the Manager

Dr. Lori V.

Manager

Dr. Lori Von Ruden was raised on a dairy farm in West Central Wiscinsin and has alwyas had a love for animals and medicine. She recieved her Bachelor of Arts degree in biology at Wartburg College and then went on to obtain her degree in veterinary medicine from Iowa State University in 1996.

After graduation she practiced at a mix animal clinic in New Richmond, WI. She was there for nine years before starting contract work for Veterinarians in Minnesota and Wisconsin for 5 years. Dr. Lori joined the KVS staff in July of 2009 and has enjoyed establishing reltaionships with her new clients and thier pets!

Dr. Lori’s special interests include small animal internal medicine and surgery, wound care and preventative medicine. In her spare time she enjoys hiking with her dog Trouper, kayaking, gardening, snowshoeing, reading and spending time with loved ones!

I’ve been bringing my older cat with slight health issues here for two years. I love the vet and the staff. They are always excited to see us and remember me and my cat. They have been great at working with me to get affordable care for my aging kitty. My mother uses a vet in Hudson for her cats and Kinnic is much more affordable when I compare the two.

I stupidly thought I should switch vets and start bringing my dog to Kinnic because my other vet is in New Richmond and I ddn’t want to keep doing the drive.
Kinnic is awful. They make you feel stupid. When I brought my dog in it was for allergies. He itches himself a lot and has bad ear buildup.
The vet basically went on and on about what I was doing wrong, sold me a product that cost me $ 200 (and I later found out had the same ingredients as a product I can buy at a pet store for $ 20) and then took my dog in back to clean his ears.
I proceeded to sit through 10 minutes of what sounded like a dog being tortured. I had no idea what to do. I wasn’t sure if it was my dog I was hearing or what. I was beside myself, tearing up.
Finally the vet pops her head back in and tells me not to worry, another dog was getting a bone popped back into place. Um, even so, I don’t want to sit and listen to what sounded like an animal being tortured.
I promptly switched back to my New Richmond vet. The drive is worth going somewhere that actually cares about animals and doesn’t overcharge you on products. Nor have I ever had to listen to animal torture with them.
