This is a membership RV campground and they also rent cabins. We are coast to coast members and the cost on this park is $ 10 nightly. If you don’t know what membership camping is all about then call them and they will probably give you 2 nights free camping if you listen to their spiel. I really like this campground because they are very friendly and they have a lot of activities. They also cook breakfast and lunch on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The food is very good there and the cooks are super nice. The campground itself is nice, but not a luxury campground. The Park is very safe and it has a country feel. The campground is probably about 45 minutes from New Orleans. The Causeway going across the lake is just south. The area around the campground has a lot of history and the Abita Brewery is nearby. Abita is the home of an artesian well and the water is reported to be very ancient. The park is located halfway between Hammond and Slidell and north of Mandeville. All three of these towns are substantial so you will find anything you need within a 20 minute drive. I am giving this park 5 stars because of the activities, safety, location, and friendliness. The spots are pretty close together and there is not a lot of outdoor space next to my camp spot. The roads are gravel. I would not call the park luxurious. This may detract for some people, but for me I don’t mind and I am happy that the park is only 10 bucks a night.
