Prellwitz Produce

Mmmmmmmmmmmm, acres of sweet, juicy strawberries.
When you combine friendly staff, a fun tractor ride to the picking area and a well-​tended strawberry patch, it’s hard not too love Prellwitz Produce. The fields are extremely prolific, my daughter and I filled our flat with eight pounds of strawberries in less than 30 minutes. The cost of our bounty was a mere $ 12 ($ 1.50 per pound for the math-​adverse readers of this review).
The condition of the fields impressed me — the plants were all healthy. A thick layer of straw mulch covered the fields, keeping the weeds at bay and preventing the ripe strawberries from touching the ground. The plants looked healthy with no spots on the dark green leaves of the plants. They grow three breeds (Honeoye, Cavendish and Jewell) to extend the length of the picking season. While not a certified organic producer, Prellwitz Produce adheres to integrated pest management practices.
I also enjoyed the friendly, courteous staff, from the driver of the tractor that drove us to the picking area to the staff members that volunteered to carry our loaded flats back to our car.
I can’t wait to return for raspberry and sweet corn seasons!
