While I liked the haircut I got and the color wasn’t bad, I told the stylist that my hair pulls red and I did NOT want a bit of warmth and when the color she used did produce highlights that were considerably warmer than I wanted, she applied a violet toner to correct. Last time I checked my color wheel, blue and RED make violet!!! So of course, the problem was NOT corrected and I am stuck with unwanted RED highlights.
But that is not my worst issue with the staff at Serenity. My real problem is with the treatment my daughter received. I brought her to get her hair colored for the FIRST TIME for her fifteenth birthday. When the color didn’t come out right, they blamed her hair. The effect was sort of like a reverse «hombre» with the color she wanted at the roots and graduating darker toward the ends. It actually looks cool and she liked it. But the staff immediately went on the defensive, saying that she must have colored it in the past which she DID NOT, citing a «definite line of demarcation» which there was NOT. And as I later found out, they actually asked her if she was pregnant or on the pill! They told her she wasn’t in any trouble, they just needed to know the «truth». While she can be as smart-​assed and temperamental as the next teenage girl, my daughter is a good kid and she was hurt to be accused of lying. The staff «expert» on color informed me that pictures were taken and everything was documented as if he were warning me not to sue or something. They also told me that they could fix the color, but that it would be considered an entirely new service for which they would have to charge full price AGAIN and an additional hourly correction fee! To correct a mistake THEY made! If my daughter came in with pink zebra stripes that she wanted fixed, ya, charge for correction, but if they make the mistake they should not charge to correct it! And I should not have to pay DOUBLE to get what we asked for!
We will NEVER go back there and I will tell EVERYONE I know NOT to go there! EVER!!!
