Um… okay. Strangest experience ever at Payless on Freshpond in Ridgewood. Bought a pair of shoes over the internet and had them shipped to a store across the street. Took 14 days. Eegads. Never doing that again… Walked dog and went to pick up shoes. Mason decided to bark at a nice little dog so I picked him up and brought him inside Payless. He was not happy about that. Register lady was full of snark… but…the other fun tidbit because I was cornered by an old lady about how to raise my dog and that he looked unhappy. The young woman at the register just stared as the drama unfolded. I was so insulted after I left I ran back inside payless and told the crazy old woman that was not a nice thing to say to strangers and you knew nothing about my dog. I just wanted to pick up my shoes. :(

If I can give negatives, I would. My family and I went to get a new pair of sneakers for our son. We arrived 20 – 25 minutes before the stated closing time. We knew exactly what we were looking for. The moment we walked in we were greeted with, «we closing ten minutes.» In a very not-welcoming tone. We were astounded by their way of greeting customers. Not only that, she was busy chatting away with her friends the whole time we were in the store never bothered about assisting us. The other two people were obviously not employees; a male and a female, dressed in street clothes and jackets/coats. While she, the employee, was not. She was the only one behind the counter. We ended up leaving empty handed. Why? Besides the fact that we couldn’t find what we were searching for. When we were walking up to the front of the store the employee behind the counter told the man(in Spanish) to shut the door, it was obvious that she thought we wouldn’t have understood what she said. In hind sight, we probably should’ve bought something and return it on the spot so we can have the receipt with her employee name and number to make a complaint to the company. It’s not just poor customer service, I don’t even know what to call it. Will never be going back and definitely will be telling friends and other family members about this experience as well.
