I’ve never written a Unilocal review before however, the service at M&J has been so awful I cannot let it go unnoticed. M&J has bleached duvet covers, stapled tags to expensive garments, misplaced laundry, missed delivery days and is an overall incredibly inconsistent service. The delivery staff are incredibly unprofessional and rarely apologetic for any of the mishaps listed above. Occasionally, you will actually receive your laundry without a hitch — don’t let this fool you. Will never been using this service again. Hope this review saves the time and money of others searching for a professional and reliable service.

I have been using this pick up and drop off service for about a year now and can honestly say I’ve never had anything lost, stolen, or damaged.
From my everyday clothes to, delicates, even enormous comforters, they always take great care of my belongings.
Always nice over the phone and my laundry is ALWAYS neatly folded and smells great! I don’t even bother trying anyone else, they’re almost perfect.
The only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is that on occasion there timing isn’t always the best for example late picking up/​delivering at the original time window, but like i said this happens rarely. I would absolutely recommend their services.
Although don’t go by the pricing on the Unilocal pictures be prepared to pay $ 1.15 a pound…

I have been using M & J for about 6 – 8 months now, and they are hands down the best service in the area. Unfortunately the bar is not high though. I have had a ton of issues with laundry service in my area. I have had places ruin my clothes with bleach, take 4 days to return laundry and sorts of awful stuff. M & J has been the only one that has been consistent and reliable. The owner communicates frequently via text and will let you know if your clothes are done early. They are great with arranging last minute pick-​up too and are super fast. Recently, I was home sick, and they were able to pick-​up my laundry that morning and deliver before the end of the day. So that was pretty great. Also, the clothes always come out clean and smelling good. Definitely recommend.

The delivery service here is the worst ever used. Jonyer and the extremely rude woman he delivers with are incompetent. I had several orders never delivered. They are nasty on the phone to deal with. The woman also tried to charge me a higher rate than they advertise.
It’s a shame. The quality of laundry is great the service delivery is a nightmare. Order at your own risk.

I’ve used M&J Laundry service a few times since September 2015, and each time it feels like my clothes return to me smelling better and better. I found M&J via
after using Bubble Works. When I last checked, Bubble Works’ website wasn’t secure, and I also had a fraud situation happening at the time. Not willing to pay for laundry service from an unsecured website again, I found M&J.
Every time, my clothes come back nicely folded, smelling great, and the service is reasonably priced. I’ve only had one odd experience, with being contacted several hours before my delivery timeframe to ask if the driver could delivery my laundry earlier. I agreed to it, only for the driver to show up a few minutes before my actual delivery timeframe ended. Kinda weird, but I was home for the day and wasn’t complaining.
Also, I’m not sure when M&J ceased its same-​day pick-​up and delivery service, but it’s a bummer that it’s no longer offered.

I’m not so sure why this place has 5 stars.
I’ve actually only come here and given them so many chances because of it. So I’m starting to think it has something with the shamelessness of Unilocal and their advertising.
The first time we ordered our laundry pick up was fine. The delivery is the problem. We waited and waited and they never came. We received a email it was delivered and it wasn’t. Had to call several times to sort it out. Okay, our first time ordering let’s give them the benefit of the doubt.
Second time. I ordered for the laundry to be delivered at 7pm when I get home. Around 4 pm I get a call telling me they were dropping it off. I said no. They told me the time which was incorrect while I was looking at my confirmation email. Not happy to be arguing when I’m looking at the facts.
Then they had the NERVE to ask to leave it in my buildings foyer. We live in Bushwick. HELLO!!!
So, they said they would deliver it at 7 as originally scheduled. 11pm our clothing arrives.
I get up for work at 4 so to have to sit around waiting for my clothes that late is ridiculous.
Third time. Now I blame myself only. I decided to try dropping it off. They do fold very nice and everything smells good so I thought let’s give them another shot.
I was told to pick up the laundry between 5 – 6 it’s 6:45 and it isn’t done.
And it’s incredibly expensive.
Never again.

While my first service was exceptional, it has only gone downhill since my first order. Yesterday, my laundry was dropped off 4 hours before my requested time, which I had to remind them of twice, leaving my laundry unattended at my door. I called and asked them to pick them back up and return them once I was home, to prevent them from being stolen, and felt ridiculed for thinking that was even an option.
While they did pick them up, they did not re-​deliver them later night, as they said they would. I finally had them delivered early this morning.
I HIGHLY recommend you never use their services if you want to avoid the stressful situation of having all of your clothing unattended in Bushwick for hours at a time.

The business contacted me after I posted the review below, and they are in the process of resolving the issue. I appreciate the prompt follow-​up and customer service.

I got 50+ pounds of laundry done and all specifications were followed. However, keep in mind since it was my first time ordering in a while I tried to keep simple as possible: I said use cold water, no need to separate and allergy free detergent. At first I was hesitant to write the review too quickly just yet because I noticed a good smell coming from the clothes, so I wondered if that meant they didn’t use allergen free. Keep in mind this would need a refund because it’s expensive (if you’re going over 30lbs, for my order it was $ 15 extra) Apparently now the market now makes scented allergen free? Anyways it passed the overnight test, I wore one of the shirts and sure enough I haven’t broken out in a rash as of this morning which is good. Obviously I would have docked a star since there are people with extremely sensitive skin (much more than mine) and that would be very important for them.
Clothes smelled great, no items were missing and best of all nothing appeared to shrink! That was a main concern of mine above all else. I had given a separate bag with tumble dry only and they indeed followed the instructions. I have a couple of linen shirts which will look like crap if dried on high heat (I made the mistake with one of the shirts before) and they all looked good so that means they didn’t throw them in with the rest of the clothes.
The detergent they use must be very good because my clothes haven’t looked this clean in a while especially the whites. However, even the Black T-​shirts look fresher somehow.
Delivery was prompt, the guy came within about an hour of me placing the order and it was almost a 5 hour turnaround time to Astoria on a Saturday which is pretty impressive. I had called the place about 3 times to confirm some avails and other details ( Unilocal offer can’t be used on delivery, not really specified in the fine print, you can order up until 2pm for same day on Sat usually, etc) before I placed my order and the lady was knowledgeable about the policies and very cordial. It is a place I would not mind referring to others. The reason I say this is because a lot of establishments these days have rude people on the phones and you can’t really refer a place like that for your 70 year old grandmother that will speak slower and have 1 or 2 more questions than you would right?
I ordered from this place naturally because of the reviews and did drop a hefty amount compared to places in my neighborhood (of questionable quality) but I’m satisfied. At the end of the day you get what you pay for, it’s nice once in a while to have the whole closet full of clean clothes. I may use them once every other month or so to get the whole closet clean and use our in-​building laundromat for smaller loads. We only have 3 machines for a building of 100 or so people so IMO it’s really not enough when you are talking on the weekends. Even a lot of times Monday nights the place is crowded. I will use this place in a pinch as well if I have a sufficient enough of a load.

This place is really nice, they don’t stress over the little things when it comes to payment totally understandable ! Amazing experience ! They folded all my stuff really neatly and organized it by colors !!! Drop off service was great too because they accommodated my crazy schedule.

I started coming to M&J a few months ago for drop off laundry and I recommend them to everyone.
The staff and owners are all very friendly and helpful. They listen to your special requests and value your business. I feel good giving them my business and the prices are fair.
I’ve had a lot of bad experiences with other laundromats in the area. Some places are rude and accuse you of lying when they ruin or lose your laundry. But I’ve only had good experiences with M&J. They do good work and they’re good people.

These people washed all 144 lbs of my clothes that had piled up over the past few months and every garment was super clean, smelled really good and folded to perfection. The pickup person was super nice, really strong and very helpful. This is my second time using a laundry service ever, and I’m usually very protective of my clothing, and I am very glad that I used this company. Also the price was very reasonable. They definitely have a repeat and happy customer in me.

Okay, so I’m one of those people who wash about 10 loads separating by material, whites, darks, uniforms, sheets, towels, warm color, neutrals, etc… so I don’t fancy drop-​offs. Today was different. I’m a single mom who works and goes to school so missing a week of laundry could appear like a month to me. I went straight to Unilocal. Searched «Drop off Laundry 11 207» M&J’s was second as far as distance, then I sorted by reviews it was #1.
I’m thinking Ridgewood? well to my surprise it took 20 minutes or less to get there (smooth). I arrived I’m immediately greeted by J who assured me my things will be ready today, then asked if I’d do drop off? I’m like hmmmm… How much to drop off? FREE based on my price which was AWESOME! …But because I believe I’m Superwoman I obliged.
(Fast Forward…) 7p EST I receive a call «Clothes are ready I can swing by and drop them off!»… Talk about SERVICE & A WORD! Clothes arrived 20 minutes later, all Snuggle Fresh, folded, bras air dried (like I requested)… So Basically M&J’s will be seeing me twice a month… one less thing to check off my list!

I never thought I could get so excited about a dry cleaner but this place is AWESOME. Their delivery service is outrageously accommodating. Need something delivered after 9pm? They’ll do it. How about before 7am? Yeah, they’ve got you covered. And before they show up you’ll get a friendly confirmation call from the driver — and when I say friendly I mean «wait, did we just teleport to Connecticut? because no one in Brooklyn is this nice» friendly.
They’ll turn around wash-​and-​fold service the same day, their dry cleaning prices are totally reasonable, and they do a really excellent job getting things cleaned, pressed, folded and perfect.
People of Unilocal,support small businesses with ridiculously good customer service and give your money to M&J.

M&J is great! Recently moved into Brooklyn and I’ve used M&J pick up and delivery service twice. Pick up is always convenient and they make sure to work with you for delivery on the same day! Jonyer has been the one to pick up my laundry and he is very communicative. He is very professional. Clothes delivered are extremely clean and exceptionally folded. Overall great service. I will continue to use M&J for my laundry service.

Amazing customer service! Superb prices, best prices in town it seems! Excellent cleaning, folding and 1 day service with no extra charge!!! I may start doing laundry more now after this experience.
Oh and everyone speaks english, may sound weird but it actually makes a big difference to be able to fluidly communicate with the staff.

Perfect service, the driver called 15 minutes away from both pick up and drop off and they were perfectly on time. Laundry was collected Sunday evening and returned Monday afternoon, clean (obviously), nicely folded, and organised in bundles by garment type.
Overall friendly, efficient, well priced. I’ll be using them again (and they’re on
which makes things SUPER easy)
