Good food but if you’re expecting them to deliver, Good Luck! Since many people called them for delivery I understand that you need to wait but the waiting time is ridiculous! But the food is still overall good but now i only pick up.

Their food is always delicious. The wait isn’t too long and the staff is always really kind. It is my favorite Chinese food place in the area. I just love their food!

As far as standard Chinese takeaway goes, this place would be a great addition to any neighborhood, but out here where options are limited, it’s a life saver. It’s cheap, tasty, not greasy at all and obviously clean(they have an open kitchen). General Tso’s I had was nice, not soggy, and Singapore Mai fun was spot on! Cash only business. If you want good quality, great value Chinese food, come here!

Wings: Very good — both regular and garlic soy. Egg drop soup: Tasty but very yellow and it freaks me out. Wonton soup: Broth is very good. Wontons are chewy. Pork fried rice: pork is super sweet. I don’t like it, my boyfriend loves it.

Some of the best Chinese food on this side of town! The dumplings are delicious and the spare ribs were my wifes favorite.

Food is always fresh and delicious. We actually were able to watch them do their morning prep and I must commend them on their cleanliness and artisan ways in the kitchen. We’ve tried the dumpling, chicken and broccoli, fried wings, ribs and everything has been better than the last.

Great local Chinese place, cheap prices and decent food. Nothing fancy but very good, compared to other Chinese places in the area its the greatest restaurant to happen since sliced bread. My only advice would be to avoid the lunch/dinner specials as its a lot of rice compared to the dish itself. Also the egg rolls are very salty(an addon of the dinner special).

the amount of oil used is perfect for this food, and the rice is done perfectly none of the food is ever overcooked or fried I love the general tsos chicken and sesame chicken has an awesome sauce and glaze they take too long to deliver in my opinion, but since it takes so long it shows that its not some frozen crap, they literally put their time and efforts into cooking the food the prices are very good too for large portions you can definetly split the entrees

This review is a bit conflicted for me. You see, I’ve lived in Ridgewood for the past seven years now and, in that time, I’ve never really found any of the Chinese take out to be what i’d consider«very good.» It’s only in the past year or so, though, that I decided to do something about it — I would get take out from ALL of the local places until I found something that reminded me of childhood. That’s probably not going to happen, but here’s what I can say about Hong Kong Express: it’s definitely tasty and it’s definitely not overly greasy. And the oil that IS used doesn’t taste like it’s been sitting there for months, which, well… in these parts, that’s a bonus. Being a vegetarian, I got broccoli with fried tofu in brown sauce; kind of a staple for me at this point. it was good, but, well, here’s where things were a bit lacking. Dear lord, the portion. I think it’s safe to say that there were approximately eight(small) pieces of tofu and I would be GENEROUS if I were to say that I was given seven broccoli florets. I know it was the lunch special; I know it cost like $ 6. But… really? A big mound of rice and a few pieces of what I actually ordered? If it weren’t for the fact that they give about half of what any other take out place in the history of take out places gives, I’d probably rank this place with 4 stars. Heck, I’ll even give it another shot, one day, for dinner, and see how that goes. Delivery was quick, though!

This review is for their boneless spare ribs, because they’re all I’ve had since coming here for the first time in July. I fell in love with them and wouldn’t dare to cheat on them with any other dish. They’re probably the best boneless spare ribs I’ve ever had. They always taste fresh, bursting with barbecue flavor, and you always get a good cut of meat; nothing too fatty. There is usually a 20+ minute wait for them. I was even told one hour one time. To top that off, they had run out of them one night. It devastated me, and I’ve been calling in fear ever since. The fried rice isn’t anything to write home about, so I usually get white rice and blast it with Sriracha sauce. Then I douse the boneless spare ribs and rice in hot oil for added perfection. Anyway, try the boneless spare ribs if you end up here. Or don’t, because they might run out of them again and I will be crushed forever. Four stars until I try more food from here to warrant a fifth, and they start accepting VISA, but these are definitely five star ribs.

I eat here very often. They have an amazing 6 dollar lunch special, and everything on it tastes great. It is clean, fast service and the food is just amazing. I will continue eating here as long as I am in this area.

This has been my lunch spot for as long as I’ve worked in the area. The place was great. But over time, they have become just as bad as your average NYC Chinese restaurant. They raised the prices and then cut back on the quantity of food. I could see if their food actually stood out but it seems like every other joint. If you are in the mood for a couple of pieces of meat/veggies and a bowl full of rice, then you might enjoy the place. Otherwise, pass on this spot. I sure will be.

Maybe it’s because I went to a really good sit down Chinese place recently but I ordered sweet & sour chicken here and I was disappointed. The sauce was too thin for me and the chicken more soggy than crunchy. I’d consider trying other things from the menu(I’m happy to see some different things that the other Chinese places don’t serve) but I think this means I’ll have to stick to sit down places for Chinese food.

Wow, the champ has been defeated! This is now the best Chinese food place in Ridgewood. Super quick delivery, great food. Who could ask for anything more? I got the General Tso’s, which was flavorful and CRISPY, like it should be.
