Bought a small carrot cake for my hubby’s birthday a few weeks ago and it was excellent. Pricey but very good… loaded with cream cheese icing. Will come back for other events and special treats.

I am giving this bakery 3 stars because the cannolis were amazing! I’ve been twice and both time the people that I worked with had very dry personalities and I almost seemed as if I was putting them out of their way when I was ordering. The first time the girl behind the counter didn’t pick my items securely and everything was smushed. For example I ordered cupcakes with holiday snowflakes on them which were crushed. The second time I ordered cupcakes they were picked in cupcake holders and perfect after a 20-​minute ride home.
Walking in to the bakery was impressive! It has so what of a 50s feel to it (which I adore). Maybe like an old school classics ice cream shoppe. The place was immaculate! With the exception of some finger prints on the glass display cases, this place would easily pass a white glove test! They displays were stunning, however their freezer section needed some love.
I wasn’t blown away by any other their bakery good except for the Cannolis which were amazing (and I’m not a cannoli fan). They were filled to order which allowed for a crispy and crunch she’ll with delicious cream! YUM! The cupcakes were dry and the buttercream topping was average. Their lobster tails were good, although not the best I’ve had.
Overall, a great place to try! I would recommend this bakery and I’d come back for those cannolis!!!

I finally got to try the Lobster Tail and Cannoli, and it was amazing. The Cannoli was fresh, the shell was crunchy, and the cream tasted great.
I had high expectations for the lobster tail and I was surprised it tasted better than I thought it would. The outside texture is like a flash crunch, and the cream taste like a super smooth ice cream.
I will definitely be going back for both.

My wife and went here after a horrible lunch and had coffee and tried the tiramisu, lobster tail and a cheese danish. We really enjoyed them all particularly my wife. She doesn’t enjoy things if they are too sweet so for us their baked goods were just fine. We will patronize this bake shop in the future!

Lobster tails are excellent here! As is the friendly service with a smile. The fact that it isn’t super packed like the hobo location is also a plus!

I was not impressed at all with their cakes and cupcakes. They taste very industrial and any bakery next to my house is way better. Carlos bakery just has a name that’s it because he has a show on TV. I do not recommend

I went there today and purchased a lobster tail for my daughter, which was good and a piece of crumb cake for myself, which was inedible. The topping was soft and tasteless and the cake portion had a chewy consistency, almost as if it had a paste like base to it. I threw it in the garbage.

The traditional chocolate & vanilla cupcakes are excellent! I am personally not a fan of those gourmet, fancy cupcakes.

The cakes really do have some of the best presentations. The taste, ehhhh. I guess your bar is a bit higher when you grow up in Essex County where there is a good bakery every 10 feet. The invented making bread it seems like. Cupcakes have the variety lines and then some, but again great presentations. Staff, courteous, quick and helpful.

Want to say for an establishment that only produces baked goods, they are clueless in what the do. I walked in to order a birthday cake in where the staff seemed not knowledgeable about design. They could not offer ideas nor supply a simple picture book of suggestions. Something so simple turned out to be a disgrace. It may have been better to bake the cake myself. See the photo as it was truly an embarrassment to even say that I purchased this cake from the Cake Boss. Plain, tasteless and poorly made, I suggest to steer far away from this as place, as it clearly only makes its business not because of quality but because of pure TV propaganda.

Awesome. Pricey, but awesome. Just visited this past New Years timeframe. Went in on Tuesday night. No line. Great service. Everything tasted awesome. Finally got our coffee mug. Love it.

Don’t get the cupcakes. They look great in the display but are served cold with cold/​hard icing. The cake itself was dry. So disappointed. My friend got the peanut butter cupcake and I had the carrot cupcake.
But on the other hand, my brother got the Pecan Danish and loved it! I tried some and it was moist and delicious.

Its was my second time i dont know why the employees are mad maybe cuz its to early. I dont think i got a fresh cupcake its was dryyyy.

We tried the following:
cannoli: 4 stars, we like the cream filing, it was good, not too sweet.
lobster tails: 5 stars, it was so good, but I think it is $ 4.5 now. We definitely come back for their lobster tails.
cupcakes (we tried peanut butter, red velvet, chocolate and carrot): 2 stars, they were dry. We will skip their cupcakes next time; there are much better ones out there.
cookies: 2 – 3 stars, nothing special and they didn’t taste very fresh. They were few ones especially hard and dry: S
The service was so so, the girl who served us wasn’t smiling at all and didn’t seem very happy when taking our order. But in the other hand, a guy who was serving another customer was very cheerful and explained everything patiently. As their service, I guess it depended who is serving you on that day.
We were there on Saturday afternoon and no line up :) YEAH!

The famous lobster tail is worth everyyyyy calorie! It’s flaky and the filling is just perfect! Also, I bought 2 large cannoli, red velvet and peanut butter cupcake. My sister in law said the peanut butter cupcake is amazing.
As a red velvet cupcake lover lol the cake was moist and the cream cheese frosting was good.
Finally, the Cannoli (two thumbs up)

Pecan wedge is excellent but in general the pastries are pricy (but then again this is ridgewood with sook and the coffee company so say as you may.)
Prices, Pecan wedge, 3.50 or 4.50, small coffee for 1.50,
Service: Slow and quite disinterested, ironic as the cake boss books had such friendly faces.
Atmosphere: Cake boss apparel everywhere, a bit loud.
id give a 3.4 or 3.5 if the service was there but for now, there are much better options, as Ridgewood has tons of good pastry shops.
2.8, rounded up… but only since I guess I chose one of the only good things here.
Not recommended.

Came here when I fought Muay Thai in NYC for «Friday Night Fights.» Obviously I went after weigh-​ins! The pastries, cakes and baked goods are tasty, but not sure if the 90minute line was worth it. This is one of those places that you’d want to check out just to say you’ve been there. Yup, I’ve been there! :) Lobster tail, cannoli and cream puffs are worth getting. By the time it’s your turn to order, you’ll feel inclined to order everything. I spend about $ 100 — most of it ended up going in the trash because I didn’t want to take it with me on the plane ride home.
Pros: Friendly customer service. Lobster tail is worth getting. Great photo-​op.
Cons: LONG line. Crowded. Pricey-​be prepared to spend some $.

Watching Cake Boss at the moment has jogged my memory to review their baked goods.
Opened earlier this year, this new outpost of the Hoboken bake shop is across the street from the Ridgewood rail station,
Located in a historic building, the showcases wow.
Though pastries are pricey, the lobster tail was very delicious. Nice play of duper flake with French cream. Tried the Italian Napoleon, some rugelach (excellent, though only 2 – 3 bites worth for one)—
Pecan wedge at $ 4/​pop was spendy, but very satisfying… large shortbread chunk dipped in choc and toasted pecans.
No line, and parking meter in front, with time left on it! — so excellent for me.

Great cakes that are priced right.
My fiancé is a little obsessed with Cake Boss so I decided to get her a Carlo’s cake for her birthday. I picked up the chocolate mousse ring for ~$ 30 and she said it was the best cake she has ever had.

The Cake Boss’s Carlo’s Bake Shop in Ridgewood held it’s grand opening this Sunday, February 10^th at 11am. the lines were long and people very enthusiastic. Ridgewood council and chamber of commerce members were on hand to cut the red ribbon with Valstro under the eye of media cameras and television crews from TLC’s show «Cake Boss». Valastro says he hopes to open another four locations in the area by the close of 2013 modeled after the Ridgewood location.
This new shop offers a custom cake bar and a party room for kids to have birthday parties, nice touch for those inclined. My favorite pastries here are the lobster tails, absolutely amazing (5 stars) and fairly priced at $ 3.50, you can also find cupcakes from $ 2.25 to $ 3.00, chocolate cream puffs with hazelnut cream $ 2.00 very nice and the cannolis are $ 2.00 (small) or $ 3.00 (large) they have chocolate and plain.
Other business owners in the area are enthusiastic hoping the TLC stars bakery will draw new customers to the area, while competing bakery’s worried that Carlo’s Bakery will hurt their business. Traffic and parking are already difficult in this area but only time will tell how this celebrity bakery will effect the Village.
