B & G Flooring

I had two bed room floors, stairs and hallway done by B & G flooring. I am very satisfied with the quality of their work and fair price. Nixon the owner and operator of the company thoroughly explained the price options regarding the the various finishes and was available to supervise the work from start to finish.

B&G Flooring was recommended to us by a contractor that was working on the house next door to ours. We had some work that resulted in removing part of a floor which we needed replaced. They had to match the remaining existing floor as well. They ended up removing additional flooring and adding a missing beam which added slightly to the otherwise reasonable price. The ‘boss’ also said that he would replace a marble saddle that we had between the kitchen and living room with a wood one. They came at 8:30 on a Saturday, put in the beam, replaced the floor, sanded, stained, and polyurethaned (sanding between coats). They were probably finished by 5:30. The reason I’m only giving them 2 stars is because when my husband pointed out that they didn’t replace the saddle (mind you, something brought up) the ‘boss’ said he would like us know how much extra it would be. My husband said ‘No, that was part of the price you quoted’…the guy then said OK we’ll come back on Tuesday and do the job. No one called and no one came to replace the saddle… their loss because we were going to ask them to put 2 more coats of poly down too (= extra $). Plus, when they left the job site that Saturday, they left ALL of the debris and trash from the job. I thought the would come back since the van they had was full of equipment… NOT. Now I have to figure out how to get rid of the bundles of old flooring.
All in all they job they did was OK but their business manner and practices not so much… if you do use them, make sure you get EVERYTHING written down on your quote or it won’t get done.
