Troy’s Stay & Play is a luxury dog boarding kennel located in Ridgefield, Bergen County, New Jersey. We offer dog and cat boarding, daycare, and dog grooming, pet food and supplies and are veterinary recommended.

We are also pleased to announce that we are the only kennel in Bergen County to offer an indoor doggy ‘park’. Our doggy ‘park’ is 2,500sq feet of play area. We also have cage-​free pens in the park area so for some pets that enjoy a little snooze or just want a little time-​out they can just go in and relax on our Kuranda beds. Our doggy daycare area is equipped with many exciting and motivating items so as to provide hours of stimulation and excitement for your pet.

Manager

Nick has been in the dog business since 2000. After working for many kennels in the surrounding area Nick decided taking care of dogs was what he loved to do.

After consulting with engineers, architects and many veterinarians Troy’s Stay and Play was born. The facility is equipped with state of the art machinery that freshens the air every twenty minutes, plus water purifiers and high tech cleaning and sanitizing machinery.

Troy’s Stay and Play is the only place I’ll board my dog, Chango, or leave him for doggy daycare. Nick’s fabulous, and so are the guys who clean and walk the dogs. They all know my dog by name, and he’s super happy any time we show up at Troys.
For grooming at this location, Michelle’s amazing. She only works on Saturdays though.
They have a 2000sq foot indoor doggy play area here. Their prices for boarding are higher than other facilities in the area. However, it’s totally worth it to know my doggy’s in good hands

Nick the owner was nice and the facility asked for the, dogs’ vaccination records but Not sure if I will use them again…
I boarded my 3 little dogs here for the first time. I told Nick that a little soft food, which i supplied with the dry food, is to be mixed, with their dry food. When I picked up the dogs the UNOPENED can of soft food was returned.
I also stated to Nick when I brought the dogs in on Friday that I did NOT want an exit shampoo
even though their sign said they do an exit, shampoo as I was having them groomed the following Tuesday. He didn’t push the issue. I noticed the exit shampoo charge upon pickup and was told that Nick sent me an email… I checked my email and there was none sent. Regardless of whether or not an email was sent I told Nick upon check in that I didnt want an exit shampoo. The, exit shampoo is not a state mandated health requirement so the facility should accommodate the dog owner’s specific request.
They did wash their dog beds which is nice but I am annoyed about the above issues.

Take my pups here to get groomed and they always do a great job! Recently had them stay here for a few nights while I was away on vacation and felt at ease knowing they were in great hands!!! Thank you so much!

It is unfortunate that I have to write a review like this. Nick the owner is incredibly rude and really has no sense of customer service. I purchased a package of 4 stays and only used 1 and then I lost my dog. I asked for a refund of the 3 unused stays since i would not be using the service and he refused to return my $ 120. Not only is this bad business but would i really want to leave my dog at a place that was so unkind. Yikes! It must be hard to be Nick and running a business like that.

Over 1 year sending my dog, Mickey, here and Troy’s is still as fabulous as ever BUT they’re adding an outdoor play area for the dogs. I couldn’t imagine they could make it any better but Nick, the owner, found a way to add an outdoor play area. What’s also amazing about this place is that over 1 year later the staff is still the same — extremely nice and caring people who truly love animals. I only wish I could give Troy’s 10 stars.

I highly recommend, Troy’s stay and play. I have a pit bull who, isn’t friendly to other dogs. I have never had her at a kennel before. Nick had told me that he was going to try and get her to play with other dogs. I was hesitant but, I trusted him. Well, he text me about 4 pictures with her having a blast! I knew then I made the right choice in choosing Troy’s. I have worked as a vet tech at many animal hospitals so, having that experience, I knew what should and shouldn’t be in a kennel facility. Troy’s stay and play is, like a hotel for animals. The runs for the dogs are, very clean and big. I also saw, where they keep the cats when they bored, the cats have their own penthouse suite!

Troy’s Stay and Play is the BEST!
Troy’s is the only place I will ever board my dog. Our dog Shadow is almost 10 years old and we never boarded him before. We had a family commitment and could not bring him with us. Shadow gets groomed regularly at Troy’s and he is always well taken care of. I felt confident Nick and his staff would take very good care of him while we were away. My anxiety over leaving him was a little high, but Nick assured me he would be fine. I dropped him off on Saturday morning and picked him up on Monday afternoon. Shadow was bathed, happy and seemed to enjoy his time there. He was still walking around with one of the other guests when I was ready to bring him home.
We highly recommend Troys, the place is immaculate. Nick and his staff love what they do but more importantly love their guests. I brought Shadow’s blanket with him and not only did Shadow get a bath but his blanket was steamed cleaned.
Thank you to Nick and Staff for taking such good care of our boy!

We just LOVE Troy’s Stay and Play! What a top notch «doggie day camp» for our «boy». They could not be any nicer, any cleaner and of course any more accommodating to us! They have taken in our dog in a moments notice on several occasions without any questions asked AND if your pet stays longer then 2 days they get a bath for free. We just love Nick & his staff and we HIGHLY recommend them.
As far as the awful review you wrote, «Kimberly R» all you had to do was ASK FOR YOUR FOOD & TOYS at the front desk and they would have happily returned them. Please next time if you have a complaint (and from the sound of it you probably will) contact the business first before you write such a terrible review…
