Outstanding french provencale cuisine. I had the steak frites with the peppercorn sauce. The steak was amazingly tender. We also had the mussels provencale, which were absolutely delicious. Just when i thought i couldn’t eat another bite, the waiter offered to bring more bread to soak in the mussel broth. It was an offer i couldn’t refuse. we capped of our dinner by sharing a chocolate fondant, which i highly recommend. The only minor complaint i have would be over the noise level. Hip restaurateurs would probably refer to it as a «buzz», but i find it stressful when the ambient noise is overwhelming to the point where you can’t converse with someone across the table from you. overall, it is clear from the attention to detail that the owners are either french or at least Francophiles, and the ambience had a quaint, rustic, country side cottage-feel that complements the overall experience. I should also add that the wait staff was very good. they were knowledgeable, personable and just the right amount of attentive. A place like this could easily cross over the line to being pretentious and stuffy, but the wait staff really do a nice job of keeping the atmosphere enjoyable and relaxed.

I love this place! Luc’s feels like you are in a small bistro in Paris. The atmosphere is great as well as the service. To be honest I have not had many items on the menu here because my friend and I always get the mussels and frites(which are amazing!) they serve an appetizer size as well as an entrée size. The prices at luc’s are very fair and the wine selection is also great. The bread and olives that are given to you are amazing! You really cannot beat this place it is the best restaurant in Ridgefield in my opinion. Only downside is that it is a very small restaurant and they do not take reservations. It gets quite crowded on weekends so expect a wait.

This is the deal. A quaint place, fresh tastefully done but spotty dishes, and service that is remote to say the least. I had to get the attention of our waiter with a long distance request. Have been quite a few times. The bartender is engaging and attentive. For those locals who consider themselves quasi French and sophisticated, this is their hangout. Come with an attitude, it helps with the crowd.

All of the reviews say this place is very good however that really doesn’t matter if you can’t get a table. My folks who are 91 years old tried to get a table for two for their 25th wedding anniversary and were told that they do not take reservations for less than four people. I guess they’re not going to find out whether not Luke’s is good or not because they’re not going to drive over to Luke’s only to find out that they have to wait for a table. It’s one thing when you’re 35 or 50 it’s something else when you’re 91 years old shame on Luke’s for not taking care of my folks and offering them a table for two guaranteed when they arrive. I have no interest in going to Luke’s because I don’t do business with businesses that don’t want to do business with me.

Cute place, food served is good. Service was a bit spotty. Our waiter seemed to disappear a lot. He may have been stationed elsewhere and couldn’t get to us in a very small establishment. Anytime we needed something we were able to get the attention of someone else on the waitstaff. We even had to ask where our food was after waiting for more than 30 minutes. We were a simple table. 3 salads, a quiche and a burger. So simple, I remember it all. Some of us didn’t get to stay for coffee because it just took too long and we had to get back home for our children. We went for lunch for a friends birthday and Luc’s was here choice, I just wish we all could have stayed for the whole time. My burger was good. It s a little pricey in my opinion. Try it, you may like it.

AAAAAAHHHHHH!!! I LOVETHISPLACE!!! Makes me feel like I am in one of those quaint Parisian restaurants. The old world vibe of this place is cozy and unique for anywhere in Connecticut. Just walking in the door makes you feel like you’ve left the U.S. and landed in a dream filled with the aroma of garlic and fresh baked bread. The service is excellent as well. Outdoor seating is charming as well. So I guess I should start with the crusty, warm French bread delivered to your table. It’s so good that you will want to devour it immediately but you should definitely not do that. Instead, save it and order the escargot. The garlicky butter just begs for that bread. The escargot is tender and juicy with lots of fresh garlic and just the right amount of brine. I have been here a handful of times. My friends love the French Onion Soup, I love the beet salad. The Croque Madame is another favorite as well as the mussels. Last time I was in, I had the Salmon and it was cooked just right and delicious. Thinking about going back this weekend to try the sole… They have a nice wine list and the bartender makes excellent martinis. Can’t go wrong with this place. It should be noted that if you’re not from the area, it is a bit tricky to find the restaurant as it is tucked back in the corner of a cute little shopping area. Well worth the hunt!

Went with friends for an impromptu Saturday night out, and had an amazing time. The food was impeccable, service attentive but not overbearing, fabulous wine as well. Steak tartare, pâté, sole — all wonderful. Definitely a favorite spot!

I have to say that hands down this is the best place to eat in the area. The food is amazing the specials are to die for and the bill is not out of this world. Great place for a date or a fun boozy night with friends. Über will know where to pick you up at the end of the evening. One last thing, if you like steak tartar … THISISTHEPLACE!

Came here with a group of 4 people(my wife, myself, and another couple). Inside is very cool, feels like you’ve stepped into Paris. I found it to be loud inside and had trouble hearing the people across the table form me — also the tables are pretty crowded together(but that was OK with me). I ordered their special of the night which was a seared arctic char. It came with fingerling potatoes and a very light sauce with capers. It was good overall, but too pricey. My wife ordered a stake which was also good, but not great. Our table had one appetizer, 4 entrees, 1 bottle of wine and two deserts for a total of $ 200 + $ 40 tip= $ 240. Too pricey for my taste. Probably won’t be back.

I’m going to keep this review fairly short. I really like this place. The food is good, the atmosphere is good, you can sit outside on the patio if you’d like. They have a nice nicois salad for lunch. The wine isn’t terribly overpriced. It can be tough to get in for dinner, as it gets very busy. It’s advisable to call ahead.

I LOVE this place, I don’t know why I didn’t review it sooner. I’ve come here many times for office lunches and every time, they’ve accommodated our large party very well. The food never disappoints. My favorites are the rack of lamb and the steak tartare. So delicious. They have the best french onion soup I’ve ever had(they should, right? Being a French restaurant and all.) I only wish I could afford to eat here more often.

Luc’s Café is tucked away off street. You have to drive into a small lane which will open up to a bigger parking space. It is a cute, cozy, quaint café that serves delicious food. I would’ve never found this place if it wasn’t for Unilocal! I’ve been craving for Escargots for awhile now so I made it one of my missions to try it here. I ordered escargots to start and Croque Madame as my lunch. I was very pleased with both dishes. Our server gave me extra bread so I can soak up that buttery and garlicky goodness. and it was so delicious. Croque Madame was warm and fresh with melted cheese. Egg was cooked perfectly with runny yolk. just the way I prefer my egg. I thoroughly enjoyed every bite of it. It was a very satisfying lunch with just a right amount of food. I noticed a table next to us ordered Mussels that came in a big pot. I can’t wait to return and try those mussels!

Luc’s is one of our favorites. Best French bistro fare anywhere around, and I’d say the best spot in Ridgefield. Herve and Ludo are the best and will surely take care of all your needs. The menu includes many French standards and unique specials. Mussels are quite nearly the best I’ve had anywhere in the world. 6 years of eating them and NEVER a bad batch. Enjoy!

This has been a favorite for many years! And now I can walk from my office to enjoy lunch or dinner. Weather permitting there is a great outside area to enjoy. Inside reminds me of Parisian restaurants I’ve enjoyed. Close, friendly and cozy! Great wine selection, food is excellent and the service is outstanding! I have always enjoyed the wonderful food and presentation. Never really gone at a peak time but if you do and have a wait — it will be totally worth it!

A cozy bar with a couple of cool ‘tenders, and some decent bistro fare. Herve knows how to run a join, that’s for sure, but c’mon, mon ami, stopping service at 10 on a Saturday night? Jeez, we def are not in Hells Kitchen anymore, are we? A very satisfying quick meal for me is the mussels in a tarragon/Pernod/butter broth or the charcuterie plate and a Hendrick’s martini. Mmmmm. My only gripe is the baguettes are cold and chewy.(my suggestion: get a warmer and order them from Balthazar).

There should be six stars! Tonight the stars aligned for a fabulous evening. A rainy day gave way to a sunny evening except for that last shower that quickly cleared the tables as we waited to sit outside. While waiting the bartender accepted his normal challenge to make sure we had a glass of the exact wine we’d each like. Now with dry, fruit forward secured, one red one white, we headed to the perfect table and temperature. The menu and execution is faithfully French. Tonight Mussels and Cassoulet. Ah, the guitar player was suddenly joined by a singer and they provided energetic, skillful and playful classic jazz, bluesy renditions of familiar favs. Just right and more!

Fantastic place. Very european, quaint café atmosphere. Made me feel like I was in a Parisian side street. Prompt service, honored the reservation. Excellent wine selection, great food, good presentation. A great overall experience. Only ding(could loose a half star) was the place got crowded and the wait staff seemed to struggle a bit. Had to try hard to get their attention. However, once we got their attention, the service was impeccable. I’d rate this place a little higher than some of the french restaurants I’ve been to in NYC. Tip — casual dress code means«nice» casual.

We were there for our anniversary dinner and it was the right decision to drive all the way up from Stamford. Please is tight, with low ceiling and quite crowded but very enjoyable atmosphere. Escargot is delicious and they removed the shell for you so even better. I had Cassoulet Toulousain and the portion is huge and it was again delicious and I will go back there again just for this very soon. The wine suggested by our server was excellent and perfectly paired with my Cassoulet and my wife fish special. Definitely this place is a keeper.
