It can be challenging to balance your best friend’s needs with your busy work schedule and travel plans. Let us show you how stress-​free and affordable it can be to achieve that balance with our mid-​day dog walking & short-​term home sitting services!

Our goal at Wag This Way RVA is to give you peace of mind when you have to be away from your pup – whether it’s while you’re at work or out of town on a business trip or vacation – that they’re in caring hands. They’ll still miss you, but we’re happy to provide distractions in the form of exercise, play time, belly scratches, and more!

I’m a lifelong animal nut and pet-​sitting enthusiast! I was living in New York City with my rescued pup for the last few years before I made the decision to move to Richmond and create Wag This Way RVA. With an advertising job that carried long hours and frequent travel, I know firsthand how challenging it can be to give your furry friend the exercise, discipline, socialization, and love needed with constrained resources.

The community of dog walkers and pet sitters is thriving in NYC, and my mission with Wag This Way RVA is to bring that same convenience to Richmond’s proud parents & their pups. You shouldn’t have to stress when you are giving a loving home to a dog!

As a native Virginian coming back home after several years away, I’m so excited to translate years of experience and passion for canine care to my livelihood in Richmond’s beautiful dog-​lined streets and community. I can’t imagine a better job than taking good care of dogs while their loving owners have to be away.

I’ve recently become what I call «a single dog mom.» My partner moves cross country for 6 months for a job. So I’m left alone with our dog Oggy. THANK GOODNESS FOR KAREN! It has been quite the adjustment for me not having the help of my partner and doing this on my on, but Karen has been the BIGGEST help. Oggy loves visiting with her and always appreciates the walks she takes him on and the time they spend together. I know longer have to worry about him being okay when I’m gone for a long weekend. Karen is excellent with dogs! She’s passionate, accommodating, friendly, yet still professional! You can have 100% trust in Karen that your pet and even your home, will be well looked after while you’re gone. She sends text updates with pictures (if you choose too which I always do) so you can get an idea of what your dog did that day. She even gave me updates on a storm that was happening in the area while I was out of town, with pics! She even keeps you informed on what’s going on the the neighborhood! Anyway, I highly suggest that you work with Karen if you need some help with your dog, whether is a long weekend or just a couple of walks a week. Your pet will love it. Plus my dog can be a handful and Karen is able to keep him under control. Oh and I think I forgot to mention that Karen’s prices are more than reasonable! So if that is an important or deciding factor to you, then you should definitely contact her. Plus she has a spare key to my apt so I know if I get locked out… who to call!

Karen really gives you the sense that not only does she love her job (who wouldn’t love being able to play with dogs all day) but she genuinely cares about the dogs she walks and cares for.
She helped my wife and I out with a very difficult situation where I was out every weekday for two months before we moved out of the Richmond area. It was very evident that our dog’s attitude and demeanor improved whenever Karen walked her.
Taking a photo of our dog each day was a big plus especially since I was away during the week. It brought me a lot of happiness to know my girl was content without me there.
It’s a shame we no longer live in the area but I can’t recommend Karen enough to RVA folks who live within her service area.

Karen at Wag This Way is the best! Each time she’s cared for our two dog she’s been a loving and playful companion for them and they love to see her! One of the times she sat for us, we were in New York for several days and she not only walked them, but hang around and cuddled and played with them for a while just to keep their spirits up in our absence. Karen is a responsible and conscientious caregiver to our two «kids» and we wouldn’t think of going to anyone else! Try out Wag This Way!

Not only do my wife and I think Karen is awesome, Dodger thinks she’s the best! Dodger is our 85-​pound Pit/​Great Dane mix, and though we’ve tried to break him of the behavior, he literally jumps up to lick Karen’s face when she comes through the door. His whole body wags with excitement, because they have so much fun together. Recently, Karen sat for Dodger while we were getting married, and he’d unfortunately just been attacked by another dog. She gave him his meds, took him to his vet appointment, and we felt super comfortable knowing that someone so knowledgeable and responsible was caring for our baby. I can’t recommend Karen enough — friendly, easy to deal with, loves dogs, all-​around A+.
