The Plug Tattoo & Piercing

I had a piercing done today and was impressed with this place. Private areas available for comfort. Professional staff. Aaron explained everything very well and was very personable.

I would never ever come here again because the guy that pierced my nipples. He pierced them wrong he pierced my areola instead and now I have to spend more money on getting them actually pierced on my nipples. I regret coming here. Also I got my helix done and everyone that I’ve known has had a keloid in their piercings so have I. Also, their jewelry that they pierce with is bad. It’s not a good material. Which that can cause infections and such. I would rather go to Industrial in Berkeley because they are very blunt with you about everything. I would sue them if I hadn’t signed the paper. Never ever.

I been coming to The Plug Over Three years. I love the place, really clean. All my nine tattoos have been done by my favorite artist Chilo Gracia. I recommend it to everyone. In fact I have recomended this place to my daughter and friends and they are all happy with their art.

My #1 place to go, love this place they never disappoint. Great deals on tattoos and piercings, all the tattoo artist there are awesome: Chilo Garcia is the best, he’s done mostly all my tattoos and my mom’s as well. I’ll keep on coming back for more.

Seriously this shop is everything. Super chill and great work. Johnny rocket is my artist and he has done every one of my tattoos. I’m a faithful customer and you should be too.

It’s so hard to find a shop that a person can feel comfortable at, and both times when I’ve gotten my tattoos everyone in the shop was so welcoming. This is the shop that I’ll be going to for all of my future tattoos & I would definitely refer it to other people!

WOOO! Came for a tattoo, loving it. «Johnny Rocket» is so funny! I came for a fix up. Never met the dude, trusted whiteboy to give me a good artist. Let johnny do his work and he added his own touch. Never thought i can see my tattoo come back to life. He made me fall in love AGAIN. So many compliments. Didnt want to give up my plug, but i had too. Not a hater, wanted to see everybody with all of The Plug Tattoo artist masterpiece. Cant wait till” i finish my sleave!!!

I wanted to love this place, I really did. I got my belly repierced and it went horrible. The ring itself was way too short. I kept bleeding afterwards from the no breathing that I had to take it off in basically 12 hours in getting it. Seemed like the guy knew his stuff but I guess I was wrong. Asked a million questions about re piercing and he was able to answer them. When getting the actual piercing done, he had me half sit. Which is so weird. The first time I ever did it, I was full on laying down. When I expressed my confusion, no clarification was made. Though I did not ask but still. Reassure you’re customer, especially if they are new to the piercing world.
Overall, I would have loved to keep my piercing longer than I did but because of the horrible job that was done, I couldn’t even sleep laying on my back without bleeding as if someone murdered me.
After the piercing was done, I was not offered any products to clean afterwards. Kudos for having H2Ocean! I would have bought it regardless if you wanted to up sell or not! Especially since I’m new to piercing, you want to teach me stuff so I can come back!
Super disappointed. Now I have to wait to get it done for the THIRD TIME because of one mans mistake.

Ask for Chilo and you will not be disappointed.

I had went here because i’d gone before to get a tattoo done by Joey. The shop is really nice and clean, The people there are very nice/​friendly as well. So I called to see if they did dermal punches since the shop I normally go to didn’t do them. I called them up and found out that they did do them! I was really happy and headed over there right after I hung up the phone. I can’t remember who punched my cartilage. The first one did a 4g, but I decided that wasn’t big enough so I went back the next day for a 0g. I loved it and was very happy. I probably should have waited to get it re-​punched, but i figured I might as well get it over with since i was already in pain. I believe the guy who did the 4g & 0g are brothers. They both did a great job, it was over with quickly and with little pain. The only problem I had was that about 2weeks after getting it done my ear got very swollen & the back of my ear was eating the back of the jewelry. I went in & the guy that had punched it at the 0g said it was supposed to be like that, that was how it healed. I said okay & then went to my normal piercer who assured me that it wasn’t healing like ti should & that the jewelry wasn’t the right size to allow for swelling. The piercing was full of puss & had basically sealed the screw-​fit jewelry into my ear. After about 30mins she got it off & put one in that was longer. Since there wan’t much worry about it closing and trapping the infection inside, I took the jewelry out. A week later it was fully drained with no pain. It shrunk enough so I was able to put a 6g plug in to keep it from possibly closing all the way & let it heal. I’ve got it to a 2g and it’s doing great, will slowly get back to a 0g.
TL;DR: Very clean and nice atmosphere. Employees and customers are very nice, friendly & make you feel welcomed. Does some piercings that other places don’t. Quick, fast, minimum pain when pierced. 4g cartilage done one day, and then re-​punched at 0g the next day. Sadly jewelry was put in that didn’t allow for swelling & Was Told By Piercer That The Piercing Was Healing How It Was Supposed To. Yet it WASN’T healing how it was supposed to & was infected. Had to go to regular shop I go to, to the have jewelry taken out & replaced with jewelry that allowed for swelling. Took jewelry out to heal, put in 6g so it didn’t close, now at a 2g. Love it, and would go back to have another one done, but I’ll be bringing the correct tunnel/​plug to have put in.

Came here on 2 occasions, once about 6 months ago, to get a «smiley» piercing with my best friend. We both ended up removing it because after 3 months, it still wasn’t healed.
I returned a month ago to get my nose pierced (I know stupid) but anyways, Not a welcoming environment at all. Once my piercing was done my nose started to bleed, as expected, however, I wasn’t even offered a napkin, after asking for something to wipe the blood off my face with, I had questions regarding the aftercare in which none was answered. I paid my 25 bucks and left feeling disappointed.
Piercing was done with cheap jewelry. Since then, I went else to get all of my questions answered and a better grade of jewelry.
Overall. Very disappointed. I wont be going back!

Woody is awesome, takes his time and truly loves what he does I see it in his eyes this kid has talent and will only get better with time I am happy with every piece of art he as tattooed on me will be going back for more and telling everyone I know this kid has talent keep it up woody

I wanted to like this place so badly! Everyone was very nice and the prices were soo good. Too good to be true. I went to The Plug to get my lip pierced it was around $ 20-​$ 30 for the piercing plus the cost of jewelry which was also modestly priced. My friend had also come in to have her belly button pierced (which ended up getting so badly infected she only had a thin strip of skin left when she took out the piercing– another long story).
My friend went first and the piercing looked great. It was my turn, now don’t get me wrong I understand pain is involved anytime you push a thick needle through your skin, however, the piercer had a lot of trouble with getting the top of the jewelry on. Not a big deal, so moving on.
I loved my new lip ring. I went out and bought some new lipsticks took a gang of selfies and was, at the time, a very pleased customer. As the days went on, I kept up with my cleaning and care for the piercing, but something just wasn’t right.
**ONE NOTE TO MENTION: I UNDERSTAND THAT SOMETIMES PIERCINGS AND JEWELRY REJECT, NO LECTURE NEEDED**
The top of the jewelry kept pushing into my skin making a deep indentation and at some points going inside my lip. I was very concerned that the skin was going to heal over the jewelry as I slept, so I went back to The Plug.
When I came back the person who helped me was not there. This time it was a man, older than the last, who when I came in the first time was tattooing someone in a chair. He took a look at my piercing and shook his head: panic: He told me the guy who had pierced me had chosen a bar that was wayyyy too small and that the lip wasn’t able to heal because of it.
Because the lip was so swollen from the lack of space the next task of removing the jewelry was the most painful. When he finally got the damn ball off relief was instant. He advised he could put in the correct size bar and because there was no infection or anything, things would heal correctly, as long as I cleaned the piercing thoroughly and took care of it. I did so and things healed up very nicely.
Two other things I wanted to mention though is that the piercing itself is crooked. The flat back of the bar that rests on the inside of my lip is angled and there is a permanent indentation because of it, also not a big deal but not the best piercing I’ve had. Another thing is the jewelry– while the price is right the quality is lacking. The jewels fall out every time and the tops of the bars don’t screw in tight they are loose and fall off. I went back at least 4 times to have the same top replaced. Never once did they offer it for free for the trouble despite them seeing me 1 or 2 times a week with the same complaint.
Like I had said I really wanted to like this place but never again will I go with the cheaper option when it comes to sticking needles and foreign objects of the like through my skin.

I would only recommend this place as a zombie pool hall. I Walked in with questions re a tattoo .No one greeted me, Finally one guy playing pool pointed to another guy directing my questions to him. my rating is low because as I looked around, one guy behind a counter, and two people in chairs all with heads down gazing at their cell phones. Hmmm I thought not a soul seems to care about actually doing business, I felt like I was interrupting a game off pool in a private home. The guy did answer my questions only after I had to repeat every thing I said twice (he must not have been listening,) I would not have a tat done by someone who is not a good listener. I hope that the owner can explain to the workers the importance of customer service, and SMILING !

Amazing job. I got my tragus, rook and forward helix done and all turned out great! White boy is a gay hawtiee.

Got me tattoo cherry popped here and I’m glad I icked this place!!! Chelo (sorry if I spelled it wrong) gave it exactly what I wanted. He was neat with station, and focused on my tattoo. And it came out beautifully. Thanks again guys, I’ll be back soon!!!

I had to take out my rook and tragus piercings due to a surgery and was unable to get the ball back in my piercings on my own. I went in with the rings already in and asked for help to get the balls back in.
The lady that helped me pulled and tugged, saying she was trying to get the ring to line up straight again (I almost had it lined up before I got there). After only succeeding in making my 10 year old piercings sore, she asked if she could put in new jewelry for $ 10 ea. I told her fine, I wanted what already had in there, rings. After she was done she showed me a mirror… and there was a stud in my tragus and an extremely long bar in my rook. Then told me it was $ 30, and didn’t give me back my jewelry.
At this point, I was tired and pissed so I paid and left.
After 2 weeks of these piercings in, I finally went to another place to get the rook replaced because it was too long (that was the first thing the other piercing person said…) and kept twisting when I slept, making the site so sore I eventually couldn’t sleep on it. Fun.
