Place is a joke… usually get combination platter and substitute chicken for the ravioli… usually runs about $ 14…they wanted $ 18 for it… they said chicken costs more… smh…wont ever go back… what a joke!!! What a ripoff… if u look at the menu they both cost the same amount… what a scam… they will do anything to try and squeeze extra money from you… shame on you crazy greek… been going to you for years… no longer… good luck staying in business with morals like that… too bad… food was pretty good… olive garden here we come

Four stars for the feta-spinach pizza and quietly attentive service. This place is part Greek, part Italian, and part American meat and potatoes. I gather they have a long-established clientele.

I was working nearby and stopped in for a bite instead of fast-food on West Broad. Being a «Greek» place I went with the Gyro. The menu is littered with a pseudo Mediterranean/Italian hodgepodge so I stuck with a goto. No spit in sight so I was hoping it was just hiding in the kitchen. Meal came out and it was just store bought Gyro meat. Tzatziki was nothing special either and most likely was from a store. Beer was cold and it was a decent meal to end the deal on, but I would not go out of my way to visit.

Expecting spicy greek Gyro I walked away disappointed. The meal was bland and more in line with an American Diner. Nothing authentic Greek. The service was good.

They do NOTHAVEREALGYROS here! Instead they use premade garbage formed meat square … similar to what the Pita Pit uses. It’s not proper gyro meat from the vertical broiler one expects in a good Gyro. On top of that they charge you $ 11 for the«dinner»… you do get some iceberg lettuce and some fries with it, but only a tiny bit of that premade meat. It was just utter disappointment, and expensive, for a restaurant open that long to serve premade garbage. I hate to do this because the service was very friendly and maybe other dishes are nice but this place is called«The Crazy Greek» and I expected decent greek food and at least a decent home made gyro. The people are very nice though so I’ll give them two stars instead of one which is what the food deserved… *and the place does have an odd musty/funky odor to it… not real bad but it’s there…

Great pizza… fresh made Greek salad, good service and a friendly atmosphere make for a good evening with friends. The large Greek salad fed four of us and the large pizza was simply delicious. The crust is cooked just right and flavorful coupled with wonderful sauce and good cheese, good sausage and pepperoni it is one of the better pizzas I have eaten. The staff is friendly and give service that reflects a family type atmosphere.

Service was good but they need to turn on the air conditioning. It was stuffy and the poor waitress was sweating up a storm. Definitely not worth the price. I had one of the specials and for $ 16 the portion was ridiculous. The chicken and spinach in it was great but they hide the sparseness with a whole bunch of white sauce that didn’t even taste like garlic.(It was supposed to) For $ 11 the eggplant parm was bland. Also, we started with the fried sampler and received a tiny plate for $ 7. The mozzarella sticks were nothing special, the zucchini had a nice crunch and the fried ravioli was decent. I tried the sweet tea and for $ 2, calling it sweet or tea is a joke. We won’t be back. We like Greek food that tastes greek.

This restaurant has steadily gone down hill. I ordered a to go spanakopita. When I entered, the entire place smelled like sewage. It was terrible. I had already placed my order, so I felt it was rude to cancel it. The young man who helped me was polite. It was over priced at $ 8.35 for six pieces. I took my to go order to my office. When I sat down to eat I was very disappointed. The pieces were dripping with oil and completely soggy. I ate one bite and it was terrible. I called and informed them and was told they were sorry and would make me a new order. They told me to throw the current order away if they were not edible, which they were not. When I was able to go back, I asked for my money back as I felt sick from eating the oil slick piece. A different man was at the register. He was very rude and snarky when I left. I will never return to this restaurant.

I love this place! My favorite is the Greek salad and you can buy a bottle of the dressing to take home!

My family and I have been coming here since I was a little girl and we enjoy it every time. One main reason we always come back is how consistent the food is. We have never gone in and had a bad experience. The servers are always friendly as is the man who runs the restaurant. This is definitely more of a hole in the wall kind of place but those are some of my favorite places to get a good bite to eat. Their baked spaghetti and Julian salad is incredible! Love their house dressing!

Getting worse by the day. This trajectory is straight to the blue hairs… is it «The Crappy Greek» or «The Gummy Greek?»

I love the Crazy Greek so much, I have to go eat there every time I’m in Richmond. They have the best Julian Salad on the planet. Not only is it delicious I even bought two of them last time and brought them back home to Virginia Beach. Their salmon is also amazing, cooked to perfection every single time. I wish there was one here but I am glad to go there as often as possible and look forward to meeting my family there too. Great for larger groups, they are very accommodating. Great food, great prices and can’t beat the family owned business feeling that makes you want to come back again and again.

Not good. Been here a few times and every time I wonder why I decided to give it another chance. Food is way sub par. Don’t waste your money.

My partner and I have been there a couple times and each time I remark that I don’t understand how Gordon Ramsay has not been called in to SAVE this place from CLOSING! Once I ordered a chicken dish that was buried under a white sauce and floating in what appeared to be an ENTIRE bottle of olive oil! Being a Sephardic Jew(Mediterranean) I expect Greek places to have hummus, falafel, gyros and AMAZING tzatziki sauce!

Depending on the trip, the food’s been pretty much okay. I’ve never had anything bad, but then again, I’ve never had anything great here either. It’s not hard to pull off a gyro or a form of pasta in red sauce smothered in cheese that are just fine. The pizza? Nothing stellar, but again, not bad. And given the fine-ness, I’m less inclined to explore the more expensive end of the entrée spectrum. One of the areas that is actually pretty great are their drink specials at brunch. Crazy Greek comes to play, hard, so you better as well. Also pretty fantastic is the tiropita. I know a lot of people who love the place and consider it a Richmond standard and tradition – THE place to go to for Greek food. But for me, I’m not going out of my way eat at a place that is just ok. You might disagree with me, and that’s cool. I’ll just meet you for some mimosas and tiropita on a Sunday morning.

The food was good. It’s definitely a hole in the wall kind of place. Our server was excellent. She was very knowledgeable, friendly, and was very prompt. I ordered the Eggplant parmigiana. It was pretty good, nothing spectacular though. I took two stars off, because the bathrooms were kind of dirty and the owner of the restaurant was rude.(I’m assuming he was the owner.) When we went up to pay for our food, there was no greeting, no thank you, no «how was the food?» That was very odd for me, I’ve never had an owner act like that before. With that kind of attitude, it makes you want to go elsewhere next time.

Let me lay some ground work right quick. This place is a cozy, hole in the wall — and they accommodated our party of 20−30+ after a wake of my grandmother. And they did it very well. We were all tired. We were all irritable. We were all hungry, and sure as hell, we were thirsty as well. I wish I could have gotten names of the servers, but the owner was floating around us as well as a few servers, and all did an exceptional job. Nobody on staff was irritable or projected it, despite those in our party that were crabby and needy.(I work in customer service in one job, and cook in a kitchen in the other, and the restraint and the strive to make us feel welcome was exceptional. Beyond that. SO gracious for the welcoming feeling.) Even with a party our size, they kept the booze flowing … constantly, and made sure we received everything we wanted and needed. Truly exceptional service is what escalated this otherwise hole in the wall restaurant to the stars. I opted to go with the lamb kabobs, and it was. slightly disappointing, honestly. As if you would have ordered –any– beef cut with onions, peppers, and tomatoes. No flavor, what so ever. Shame! It had the familiar SLIGHT gamy bite to it, but aside from that, it wasn’t anything more. The kicker though? Read on, kids… Their sides were ABSOLUTELYFANTASTIC. Holy crap. I ordered a side of spaghetti and rice, and expected something generic, and this was the total SAVIOR of my rating(because my opinion matters, or something) and also my meal. The rice, was flavored with … I wish I could even pin point it. But it was DAMN delicious. The meat sauce on my spaghetti was MOST definitely house made, and so delicious. I regret not having gone with something incorporating one of the two, and I will most definitely be back. The staff and owner were EXCEPTIONAL with our needy party, and were extremely patient. Customer service, delicious home made sides, and good times propelled this place in to a high rating with me. I –will– be back!

First time visit. Parking lot is crazy small and very conducive to accidents! They have a huge menu full of greek/italian/american style dishes which made it kind of hard to choose from. I really wanted to try a gyro or steak and cheese, but I ddn’t want to make a mess of myself during a business lunch so I’ll have to come back to try that. I ended up going with a spinach and feta pizza which I added tomatoes to and it was delicious. It had a great homemade crust and the toppings were delicious and very fresh tasting. My biz client had the corned beef with cabbage and potatoes which he loved. Upon ordering, he had at least 2 other people tell him that he was in for a real treat, so that was a good sign. It was the daily special and came in at $ 6.50. You can’t even get lunch at Panera for $ 6.50. This place’s prices are unbeatable. We enjoyed really great service by a tall gentleman in glasses. He was super-attentive and knowledgeable.

I got take out. I have passed this place a million times and finally stopped to give it a whirl. The restaurant needs some serious updating. Mom and pop feel for sure, and the patrons inside seemed happy. I just felt like it needed a good scrubbing. I ordered the Gyro and fries. The fries were battered. Unusual but decent. They didn’t seem fresh cut. If I had to guess I think they took frozen fries, dipped them in batter and fried them. Nothing special. The Gyro was ok. Pita bread was great(this leads me to believe the pizza would also be good). The meat lacked flavor. It needed some more salt and spices. The Tatziki sauces was great. Fresh and full of flavor. I did appreciate the freshness of the tomatoes and onions on top. However, the lack of flavor in the meat left me with an overall«eh…» feeling. I would try the restaurant again before writing them off.
