The service we received was extremely poor. Upon arriving, we were greeted by a sales associate who began to help fit my son. A minute into helping us, her friends walked into the store and instead of saying a quick hello, she proceeded to stop helping us and talked to them. About 2 minutes later, another sales associate came over to assist us. My son has extremely wide feet and the sales lady tried to put shoes on him that were too small and jammed his feet in them. She sold me shoes that did not fit my child and I ended up returning them because of it.

I have a serious Love/Hate relationship with this Stride Rite. Love: The brand and the quality associated. These shoes are cute, durable, and if you can catch them on sale(they run BoGos fairly frequently), a great value. While the store is fairly small, their displays have a good selection for kids of all ages, boys and girls alike. The staff is always an awesome combination of friendly and knowledgeable, and are great at the sizing for kids that don’t always want to subject themselves for sizing. Hate: The stock at this location is, in a word, terrible. My daughters must have, collectively, the most popular sized feet in the area, because this store NEVER has the shoes we select, try on, and want to purchase. And this is happened several times. It has gotten to the point now where we will size the girls’ feet, ask what they have in that size, and make our selection from there. Very disappointing. Another frustration for me is, for a store that is smaller than the living room in my house, they routinely seem to be understaffed. On a recent trip to this location, there was actually a sign in sheet to try and organize the line for the single salesperson. Yes, one. I might suggest that they base their staffing decisions on sales volume data over a timeline of store hours, not square footage of retail space. At the end of the day, as much as I like the product, I can’t purchase what they don’t have. Chalk another point up for online shopping.

We’ve been stopping in at this location since we moved to Richmond. It is a relatively small store, with what i believe to be is a relatively small selection. As a result, we generally only make a purchase here once a year. As for service, the employees are generally nice, but you can’t sell what you don’t have! It would be great if there was one store in the area that served kids to the max, but in particular had a food boys section. Until that time arrives, we’ll keep visiting 4 – 5 stores to find the shoe(s) needed for our son.
