Smitty’s Southern Style BBQ

Excellent –we had the pulled pork sandwich –abundant piles of delicious smoked pork! Beans were perfect! Bought 2 bottles of their sauce! Loved this special place! We will be back!

The Best Pulled Pork I’ve ever eaten! Smitty maybe in heaven, but he left some great food behind! His wife and the ladies who work here are awesome!

Tastes good! Had the brisket sandwich. Pleasant folks. Cute young boy sweeping floors was surprised I had never been here before. A little bit of a dive but clean and good. Yup. Worth the stop.

Smittys is an epicureal destination that you need to make sure that you don’t miss. Calling the wonderfully crafted smoked meats barbeque seems like an inadequate description-​STARBEQUE is more fitting. The staff is very friendly and the food is definately worth the drive. Set your Unilocal map app to Smittys and go get ya some Starbeque, you won’t be disappointed.

Excellent! Everything they make is good, but the brisket sandwich is my favorite. The sauce is fantastic! Spicy and sweet.

We were on our way from NC to home and wanted to eat at a local place, not the ever-​present fast food drivel along the highway. Looked up some restaurants near Richmond, and 5-​star Smitty’s popped up. What a great find! It takes about 7 – 10 minutes to get there from I-​75. Take the extra few minutes, drive away from the highway, and go there!
Walk into the building (shared w/​a beauty salon), and choose your BBQ. I got the brisket sandwich. Yum. Didn’t even need sauce. Very flavorful! Hubs got the pulled pork sandwich. Also major yum. We both got the mac n cheese, which was a perfect side dish for both sandwiches. They also have baked beans, fries, and a couple other sides. We ate there for lunch, and the sandwich combos were just enough food for us to satisfy. If I were eating there at dinner time, I might get another side dish to go with the sandwich combo.
Loved it. If we find ourselves going through Richmond again, we’ll be back.
Side note: We paid with cash… I THINK it’s cash only. Not 100% sure, though, so if you need to know, you may want to call ahead just in case.

This place was amazing! The nice lady at the front was doing it all when I was there, and she did a A+++++ at it. It is a very welcoming place with the best brisket I’ve ever had in my life

This place is awesome!!! Get there early, food goes quick. We had the catfish, pulled pork and chicken wings; they were all great!!!

First time eating here and I will be back!!! Great food at a good price. The pulled pork was out of this world.

WOW! Bout time we got some awesome bar b q in #richcity. $ 20 for a rack of ribs… and oh so tender. So good for dinner over the weekend-​had to go back for lunch today. Lunch was pulled pork, beans and a drink for $ 8…simply fantastic. So impressed with the food out of this concrete block building. The smoker is out front and you can smell it for a mile! The service is great, the folks are friendly, and the food-​well, it is just crazy good!
