Samayoa did an awesome job on our front and back yard and are reasonably priced. They came on time, worked thoroughly, and cleaned up like they were never here, and left us with am amazing yard! :) We couldn’t have asked for better service AND pricing. We will definitely be calling them again.

Roselio and his crew did a great job fixing up are yard. The project was completed 3 days after our first call to him for an estimate. I have never had a contractor move so quickly! They installed a stone patio, mulched the surrounding area, added sod to a small section of the yard and installed some drip irrigation. All the work was done as we discussed during the initial walk-​through and came in on budget. We liked their work so much, we hired them to do monthly gardening.

I had about 45 large plants to put in. I couldn’t do it myself. Roselio and his crew were excellent. They arrived on time and got all the work done. They kept checking with me to make sure everything was good. I was very impressed. I will be using Roselio again.

We started working with Roselio on monthly maintenance and clean up. Each month his crew exceeds our expectations and does a thorough job at cleaning up everything. We then proposed a new project on creating a stoned path for our bee hive and fixing an old retaining wall that was falling down. Roselio gave us an initial quote for what the project would cost and he stuck to it. Each day they were here they would clean up at the end of the day and make sure we were happy with the work. The end result was perfect and just what we were looking for. Roselio and his crew finished the project in a timely manner and the detail was great. I’ve used Roselio for two different jobs now, and I’m kind of hooked; I have him doing monthly maintenance at my place, and will be calling him soon to do the plantings at the second place (my mom’s house), where his crew built some long, strong retaining walls on a very scary cliff for a very reasonable price.
For the first job, Roselio’s crew stripped my back yard of dead brush and blackberries, then followed a sketch I drew to create a path and planting areas, and installed an irrigation system as well. He met me at American Soil to make sure we were choosing the path material I wanted, and texted me the day before his crew needed all the plants. I rushed out, bought stuff, and placed it in roughly the areas I wanted, and the guys came and did the magic with soil amendments and planting. The yard went from looking like hell to being totally cute — and I need to mention that I was in a rush to get this place listed for rental, and Roselio did the whole thing in five days!
For the cliffside job, my mother was a little concerned — really, all we knew about Roselio was that he could do great gardens, but this was more about erosion control, and everyone was advising her to get soil engineers ($$!!). Roselio had once mentioned to me that he was working on a retaining wall project in Montclair, so I reported that to my mom, who was at her wit’s end after getting unaffordable quotes from an engineer and panicking about the impending El Nino winter. Roselio came out and looked at the cliff, and drew a sketch of where he thought the walls should go. Still wary, my mom called him and asked — this part is a little embarrassing — if he could drive her to see the house in Montclair! (She still drives, but is in her 90s and didn’t feel like she could navigate unfamiliar territory… but why didn’t she ask ME? I would’ve taken her!) So there it was: my mother with Roselio, driving around Oakland, sitting in traffic, and hearing his life story. But after viewing the walls, she thought they were attractive and looked sturdy enough, so she asked him to go ahead with the job. One caveat about Roselio: you don’t always know exactly when his guys will come. There were some days when no one showed up – probably a more urgent job was in the works somewhere else — and some days when workers appeared unexpectedly, even on a Sunday. But in the end, they did an amazing job, using long I-​beams when they couldn’t find rock to drill into. There have been some big rains since then, and everything seems very solid.
Unlike other landscapers I’d tried to contact, Roselio always either picks up the phone, or calls back pretty quickly, and speaks good English. His texts can be a little obscure, but I can almost always get his meaning. He stays in touch when you need him, and recently even came back to fix some areas of the path he’d done at my house with anti-​weed fabric, no charge, when some weeds had started pushing through. All the plants are thriving. I tried to contact several other landscapers before, and had met with a few, but Roselio has been the friendliest, most affordable, and most able I’ve found — I totally recommend him!

Samayoa Landscaping has done amazing work for us over the last month and I can’t say enough good things. I called owner Roselio and he called back right away and came by that afternoon to provide an estimate. His team started work the next day and the crew worked in the driving rain and did a meticulous job pruning, trimming, and reconstructing the irrigation system for a home we had just purchased and needed a lot of cleaning up. Roselio knew all of the plants on the property and we went to a contractors nursery to pick up new trees – I got a great discount on prices. I’ve been really impressed with the company’s promptness, awesomely positive attitude and they’ve been very respectful of the property, ensuring no trace left behind. The Samayoa team has also built a custom fence and removed some old metal handrails. Pricing is very competitive and really respect Roselio’s approach – pay for materials up front, labor when the job is done. Be sure to document all of the pricing and keep track because Roselio’s team can basically do whatever you need and it can be easy to lose track (we ended up with four or five projects after they did such a great job on the first!). Roselio’s lovely wife also runs a housekeeping business, be sure to ask her for a quote.

Roselio and his team did a fabulous job on the drain for our driveway, and I will definitely call him for our next project. I got three bids to run a drainage under our asphalt driveway in the front to the slope in our backyard. Roselio’s bid was the lowest. He started right away. He even extended a section of the driveway, giving us more room to park. His team does great work and leaves the place cleaner than it was. I was worried about this project, because it involved cutting through the driveway, and I’m glad I chose Roselio for this project. Now, I’m all set for El Nino… bring on the rain!

Roselio is GREAT. His prices are very fair and affordable. I trust him 100 percent and highly reccomend him. I will be having him back to maintain my yard on a consistent basis.

I was in need of a backyard renovation after having an outdated pool removed. I made the call to schedule a consultation and Roselio answered. He’s was professional and punctual. He hired him later that day and the experience has been great. They put in a new stone patio, retaining wall, stone stairways, and lawn. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for landscaping.

Whatever we ask of him, Roselio says, «YES!» Remove concrete, blackberry bramble, huge masses of juniper, trimming enormous trees, fix a falling down fence. .. YES! And he does it well, on-​time, and his guys are wonderful. Friendly and super hard workers.
We just purchased a new home and did an extensive remodel. In the process, Roselio helped clear a hideously overgrown backyard, move over 100 plants from our former home without losing a single plant, and he just poured our beautiful new patio — expertly floating stones in the concrete.
His prices are fair — no job too big or too small. We cannot recommend him enough and we look forward to a long association with him as we continue to develop our property.

Roselio is wonderful. He took our hopeless backyard and created an oasis:) He is very accurate on his quotes, and checks with you if there is going to be an outside of the budget item. I had Rosalio and his crew maintain 11.5 acres for the school I’m site manager of for 5 years. They go above and beyond for me weekly. They’ve built rock walls, stairs, crush granite pathways, irrigation and keep our yards beautiful and maintained. There’s never been a job I asked them to do that they couldn’t. I recommend them 100%.

Roselio and his guys were great! I have a dog and she’s runs back and forth in the backyard. The problem being that there was mulch back there and it all ended up on my patio. Roselio and the guys put artificial grass in my small backyard.
I took off a star because, I didn’t notice right away, but you can see the seams where two pieces were connected. When looking into the yard from the gate, no seams. When looking toward the gate, seams. I’m not sure if that’s the product or if they just need to be better blended.
Overall, I’m very happy with the outcome! Much better than my previous situation.

Roselio and his crew did multiple projects for me and my family at our home in Piedmont Pines. He was originally referred to us by our realtor, Brian Cheek (Alain Pinel in Montclair Village). The main project was a big fencing/​retaining wall project. I am extremely satisfied with his work. He also does very good landscaping and deck work (retaining walls, power washing, deck staining etc.) If there was anything that needed adjusting after his work/​project was completed, he fixed it, did not charge extra and performed the job per my expectations. Overall, I highly recommend Roselio and his team. I will be using him again next Spring for a landscaping project.

Roselio and his crew recently put down rock in the front yard, trimmed the trees around the front and back, and are great for keeping up maintenance.
With winter approaching I wanted to make sure the solarium was bolted down and he did just that! In addition, he established drip systems around the front and back yard which helped bring down water usage and make the yard and garden more efficient.
Even small things like fixing a shower door I can count on Roselio to do! He is truly a jack of all trades and will do his best to make sure you are happy with his work.
If you are looking for major work done or routine maintenance or even perhaps someone to set up a drip system, I would recommend his services.

Roselio and his hardworking Samoyoa Landscapers performed the yearly maintenance my patio garden desperately needed-​I had three patio garden issues needing attention:
1. Oh, boy~My tree needs a major trim getting rid of all the «Widow Makers!» Those tree limbs dangle four to five feet lower than the rest of the tree branches which could inadvertently snap killing someone should a high 50 MPH wind kick into gear; it was time for Roselio to remove all those widow makers STAT; also, the tree limbs were brushing against my home’s stucco structure so, those tree limbs must be removed before the limbs break my bedroom window!
Wow! It was so very dangerous watching Roselio removing those widow makers with the help of his two Landscapers insuring safety measures and precautions were utilized. .. I didn’t want Roselio’s wife screaming at me that my tree killed her husband: I was sweating BRICKS, biting my nails watching every widow maker being removed; tree limbs dangling so low could really kill someone-that’s why these types of tree limbs are called, «Widow Makers!»
After the widow makers were removed, sunlight bathed all my organic, fruit trees. I had to have Roselio eat one of my Granny Smith green apples. .. «Very good!» Roselio gives a thumbs up. .. Well, of course, Roselio: You had your crew replace 4 – 6 cubic yards of bad, clay soil and installed 4 – 6 cubic yards of fertile, organic soil so, producing fruits when you bite into them, the juice runs down your hand to your elbow-​these are the major reasons why my fruit trees are flourishing and are so juicy!
2. Repair the irrigation hose leak. .. «Easy-​fixed!». .. Roselio smiles so big! Hah-​hah-​hah!
3. Install the black weed barrier on the top retaining wall so, I won’t have to pull weeds!
Thank you so very much, Roselio and Samoyoa Landscaping Crew: I’m you biggest fan because I’m growing organic, exotic dragon fruit, papayas, mangos, Buddhas Hand Citron, Meyer’s Lemon, Satsuma Tangerine, avocado, Pinot Noir grapes, Korean Pear, blueberries, pomegranate, blackberries, potatoes, elephant garlic, snap peas, ginger, Thai basil, lime, and pineapple in my small 15-​feet X 30-​feet patio garden!!!

The team was amazing! I contacted them yesterday morning, Roselio gave me a bid that afternoon, and they just finished up my yard today!
We had ancient, dirty mulch and a big hole in our yard where the solar installers had uncovered our french drain. For an incredibly reasonable price, His team not only clearned and hauled away the mulch but also trimmed a few trees. He also coordinated with me to get some retaining wall block and correct the problem with the french drain.
Wish I had called them when we were doing the front yard. If we ever need anything in the future, Roselio will be the first person I call.

I recently had Roselio Samayoa and his crew do a job involving plant removal, soil amendment, replanting, mulching, removal of debris (huge), and some pruning. The crew did a wonderful job! They worked very hard and long days and got the work done in no time. They also went over the entire drip irrigation system that needed repair and testing. I would use this company again and recommend highly.
