Note: I NEVER went in to see the dentist. This review is PURELY based on the scheduling experience I had over the phone. Today about 30 minutes ago, I called to schedule a routine cleaning with Dr. Abusleme. The person who answered the phone spoke Spanish and English. Awesome for Spanish-speakers and English-speakers alike! She told me there was a 2:00pm opening today. I told today at 2 would totally work! She then explained where the office was, as I was a new patient. Then she advised me to bring my insurance card and ID. Great! As we were hanging up, she said, «I’ll see you at 3 today.» I was thinking, «What? Didn’t we just make an appointment for 2?» But, mistakes happen so I agreed that 3pm would work. About 15 minutes later, I realized 3pm would not work as it was going to interfere with my afternoon plans. I called back, but the phone line was busy so I waited a few minutes. Just 5 minutes ago, I called to cancel the appointment. The same woman answered the phone, and was surprised when I called to cancel my appointment. She didn’t remember me, NOR was my appointment ever actually made! I was appalled. I just spoke to her in the last half hour, and she didn’t remember taking down my information or setting up my appointment. It sounded like she was going through the calendar or some paperwork, but she said she didn’t even have a 3 o’clock appointment for the day. I didn’t bother re-scheduling since it didn’t seem my appointment had been made in the first place. There are HUNDREDS of dentists in the area. I’d like to go to one where my business seems important, and my appointment is actually recorded. I’m sure Dr. Abusleme is a fine dentist. He just needs to make sure his office staff is actually attentive when they’re working. I’ll be scheduling a dental cleaning elsewhere.
