Rumors lately has added a much larger variety of clothing styles! I especially love that they have more kawaii clothing items now. Will definitely be returning to boost my cutesy wardrobe. The prices are pretty fair as well. Excited to see what they’ll have in stock in the future.

If you want a tulle corset, this may be the place for you. Besides the intensely odd articles, there’s also weirdly normal clothing, if that makes sense. There was a surprisingly great deal of old navy and target, which I don’t usually find in unique thrift stores. All in all, everything I found was either too everyday or too out-​there for my taste. To top that, the prices aren’t as cheap as Id like in a thrift store. Lastly, while the space is very trendy, with its brick walls and whatnot, it was incredibly crowded when I went and there was a lot of bumping into people– its a small shop with a lot of things.
On a final note, I will say, their men’s selection looked pretty amazing, just not for me.

Truly my favorite place to shop. For years I’ve struggled with finding fashionable clothes on a budget and have had to spend time scouring the internet. Well no more! Since moving a few blocks away from this gem I’ve found something I adore every time I go through the front door. Whether it’s a pale lavender lipstick, red velvet Vans, a favorite record, dress, choker, ring, you name it! I’ve even seen items I’ve paid double for elsewhere. Some people get nervous when they hear «used clothing» but Rumors has new and old items, and even the used items look new. You’ll never know the difference. Staff is friendly and helpful, I recall asking about a record I had seen on their Facebook that was no longer there and the guy I talked to was very helpful. Sizes seem to be hit or miss, but when isn’t it. No matter where you go there’s always that one thing that’s too big or small. All in all it’s a wonderful shop where you can find some amazing things.

LOVE! LOVE!! LOVE! This place is the best and luckily just a couple blocks down from where live. I always find something in here that I love and have to have! Everything here is very unique, I would’ve given five stars but I had a small problem with one guy that works there, I wanted to buy a fur coat it was my birthday and I really wanted to wear it out, he made a big deal about going to the upper level to get the coat, (seemed like he didn’t really want to help me) he told me to go online and order it, so I’m assuming you can’t just buy one in the store, because they don’t keep them on the store level, which would’ve been helpful to know at the time. Other than that customer service has been, I love this place and will definitely be back!

Love this place! I think it’s a chain since I visited one in Chapel Hill. This location has a better selection and prices. While I was in, they played great music and the staff was really nice. Lots of variety and the condition of clothes was very good as well. I only wish the store was larger since they did a nice job of curating the collection. Prices on graphic tees were around $ 6 – 8 and women’s tops and skirts run $ 6 – 10. Lots of cute accessories by the register. I wear a size 14 and had no problem finding options.

They rip you off when they buy your clothing. They’ll price it lower than they sell so the percentage they give you for it is way lower than it should be. I sold a bunch of stuff to them before without noticing but then they made the mistake of posting one of my items on instagram right after I sold it to them. The rude bald British guy took two shirts of mine and priced them at $ 4 a piece, then later I see my shirt on instagram on sale for $ 10. So he gives me $ 2.75 for both shirts when if they’re supposed to give you 35 percent I should’ve gotten at LEAST $ 3 for the one shirt. Never shopping or selling at that snobby shithole again.

I would love to see variety in sizes. All I saw was straight sizes.
This store was adorable, and I would have purchased a ton, but there was nothing bigger than a 12.

After taking my phone number and sending me off while they sorted through my goods, they donated my bags of tshirts and North Face coat without calling me.

DON’T sell or buy here. They are always SO Rude. Especially the bald man. Over priced. Poor quality. Go somewhere else.

Cute place close to the heart of VCU’s monroe campus! It’s a thrift boutique but they also carry brand new items. They have cute little accessories but can be a little pricey. It’s a nice stop, walk around and maybe even buy a good buy for a reasonable price! (cute & reasonable)

The location of the place is ideal for many college students nearby, but it doesn’t really fit with my style. Still, if you want some vintage pieces, you should check it out. The prices aren’t ridiculous from what I could tell compared to some of the prices I’ve seen at Plato’s, etc. Kinda wished they organized the dresses by size rather than the randomness going on, but I am OCD. If you’re willing to take the time to find something good, you might be in luck here.

I really liked it here. I found a vintage levi’s vest for 18 $ among other goodies. whew whew. Parking was great and the location very convenient. My only complaint was the staff didnt greet me or ask me if I needed anything. They ignored me actually. Not sure if that’s the norm in Richmond. The cashier was pleasant so I added a extra star for that. I will come back.

I don’t know why I even bother going to other thrift stores in the city, seriously.
I love to go Jesus thrift, to salvation army, goodwill, and all those places and I never find half as much quality and straight up righteous gear as I do when I just go to Rumors. This place is the bees knees.
I have heard that it is ‘pricy’ for a thrift store, but that’s only because those are the people that are used to going to the places I’ve already mentioned and only wanting to pay $ 2 for everything. C’mon you dummies, you are paying for their ability to gather up all this great stuff and deliver it to you in one store. They are doing us a favor so that we don’t waste our money and time traversing the city to save a buck and buy a trendy salisbury steak sweater (Riff Raff). The prices are never over $ 30 and that’s sometimes for vintage items. That’s a steal! They are asking us to go and steal their stuff, so I’m not arguing, I’m going down to get some stuff asap.
They also buy your old clothes, but they’re not brand bound like Platos closet. They buy things that are a certain look and fit. They take about half the things I bring and also offer store credit. Neat.

This one is tough, I used to enjoy rumors more than I do now. I have shopped for clothes several times and as time goes by, I seem to be able to find less and less stuff. The apparel seems to be getting more and more hip and scene. It’s getting harder and harder to find clothes that are my «style». I wish there was a larger variety of styles of clothes. Who knows, maybe I’m just picky.

The music was so loud it hurt. The fact that I thought to myself «Gee, this music is a little on the loud side» meant that I was too old and too uncool to enjoy my browsing experience. During my short visit, I noticed that nobody makes eye contact and you can fart as often as you’d like.
As for the clothes — it’s stuff that people wore for a while, realized they looked kooky, and sold. Or traded for some other goofy stuff. I wish the record section took up the entire store and there was just a small box in the corner with a few scarves in it and a sign that said «Free».

I can definitely get down with Rumors Boutique. Not only because the clothes are wicked cheap and there’s something for everyone, but moreso in the literal sense, because they’re always blasting jams in the shop and on the street (there’s a speaker that faces the street that’s connected inside) and you can’t help but dance.
I visited Rumors last weekend and found some pretty awesome stuff. They cover everything from men’s clothing, to dresses, jackets to bags. Speaking of bags, their handbag section looks small but almost everything was purchase-​worthy: menswear overnighters, large clutches, wallets and thin-​strapped shoulder bags. If wearing gently-​worn boots freaks you out, you should definitely re-​think that, as their vintage boot section is pretty tops. Found a crazy pair of forest green over-​the-​knee boots but alas they weren’t my size.
Bonus for music lovers that visit: they have a small music section which includes full-​lengths (both pre-​owned and new vinyl), 7“s and tapes (yes! tapes!) from local artists.

This store has a nice mix of clothes, especially for the college set. Downstairs features gently worn apparel and accessories, along with some new accessories designed by local artists (check out the cool necklaces by Julia Dent), and upstairs is menswear. It’s nice to see a cool resale shop that offers stuff for men too.
I took some stuff in as a consignor earlier this week. I could exactly figure out a rhyme or reason to what they took and didn’t, but I figure the owners and staff are creating their own look and feel. And this is cool, it gives the store more of a trendy/​unique feel than your average resale clothing shop. I also felt like I was paid pretty darn fairly for the items I brought in. You’ve got a choice of taking cash (it’s not consignment, they buy the items outright), or taking a store credit. You get more money with a store credit, but I went for cash because who doesn’t want mo’ money??!
I’ll definitely take stuff back here again, but I’ll make sure to bring the three-​bag max so they’ll hopefully find a few things they like.

I went into Rumors on Saturday November 29^th to do some holiday shopping. When I walked in one of the girls working was making Christmas decorations she promptly greeted me and made me feel welcomed. The store was a combination of a country thrift store and a designer boutique.
I purchased several items and I think I found a new favorite store.
