Food was sub par: $ 30 for 2 sandwiches, 2 drinks, and wings. Neither sandwich was hot, even after we asked them to reheat one of them. Cheese wasn’t melted on either sandwich and condiments were slopply applied. Wings looked slimy and tasted rubbery – they were inedible but we didn’t complain as we’d already complained about the sandwich and it seemed to fall on deaf ears Restaurant was EMPTY at 7:30 on a Saturday night. Should have been the first clue. The restaurant was clean but the employees could have used some work. The owner/manager was the dirtiest of all and it didn’t appear to have been from putting in hard work. Such a disappointment considering the number of times we’ve enjoyed a Rudinos in other areas. We won’t go back.

Food is good. Love the Greek salad, grinders are excellent. The meatball sub is one of my favorites in RIC. The bread stays toasty, despite the sauce. Food is 4 stars, service is 1. Showed up and my order hadn’t been put into the computer, so had to wait an extra 20 minutes. No one was in the restaurant and not busy. This isn’t the first time this happened.

5 min to communicate a pick-up order for some reason. When I arrived 30 min later, the sole employee standing around said that there was no order. The guy who took out order had left and not put it in. So a 30-min wait just turned into an hour and no food. The nice girl working apologized but the manager who wouldn’t show his/her face didn’t comp anything. So now I have to tip this poor girl to drive me the pizza? I shouldn’t but it’s not her fault. Shame on Rudinos. This is the third or fourth time I’ve done business here and have yet to be impressed.

The pizza is just OK. We’ve gone there twice and the wait was long both times… Just for a couple of slices. Not worth the wait. The employees do seem quite lazy.

We shared a 18″ grinder and wings. The grinder was good, especially the bread but since it’s open on all 4 sides all the meat and veggies fell out. Wings were good! Sort of pricey.

My husband and I were so happy to find a great grinder place near our home. We get food here a few times a year and love their selection of sandwiches. On most nights the food is ready in 15 – 20 minutes for pick up. They also offer delivery and have a small dining room as well.

Had the chicken philly and it was very good. Nice relaxed atmosphere and decent prices.

Love the grinders. We order there a lot because of the convenience, and we enjoy most everything on the menu. I’ve never been impressed with the staff though. They aren’t the friendliest, and they seem quite lazy.

I had 4 large pizza’s delivered the other day. When I opened the boxes the pizza’s had all slid over to the side of the box. I called back and within 15 minutes they had more pizza delivered. I had about 20 guys eating pizza, I heard a bunch of them comment on how good the pizza tasted. I’m a big fan and also was very impressed they took care of the customer in this case. Well done!

Good food. My kids like the pizza and their sandwiches are good but pricey. We will eat here again because it is convenient… the kids can walk to it

We frequently stop in for the Whacky Wednesday priced medium pizza. The grinders and pizza are both pretty good. I like to add banana peppers to the grinders. Sometimes the pizza is greasy — but a quick blot with a paper napkins solves that issue. When crowded, it can be pretty loud … which works well for our family, but might irritate others.

I had lunch at Rudinos Pizza & Grinders today. I was in the area and decided to try Rudinos for the first time. The restaurant is located in a strip mall(John Rolfe Commons).I decided to try the first thing on the menu that caught my eye. I choose the Parmesan Pepper sub(Grinder). You can choose steak or chicken. I choose the steak. The Parmesan Pepper Steak sub was good. Nothing over the top but not bad either. The bread was fresh tasty. The sub comes with chips. Substituting fries for chips is a $ 1.00 extra. The fries were hot and crispy. Rudinos Pizza & Grinders has a nice family atmosphere. The service was good. The employees were nice. There is plenty of parking in front of the restaurant. The food was good enough to come back to the restaurant. I will try the pizza at Rudinos Pizza & Grinders on my next visit.

G and I went here for dinner tonight. It had been raved about by friends. We got the buffalo chicken pizza since we like to be different. We sat down at our table, checked out what was going on on Unilocal and figured out what else we were going to do… just the 2 of us. The pizza came in no time. Slices cut in squares and enough cheese on them that the melted wonderfulness was falling off the slice. Little spicy for G… what did she expect? It’s buffalo chicken! Definately somewhere I would go again. Might even try a grinder next time. :)

Volunteered my time this weekend for the Full Circle Roundup at Innsbrook. Full Circle is a Family Grief based company that helps families with the loss of a loved one. The Roundup is fun Family event, with music, crafts and other activities for families. Well after putting up 50 tables and 100’s of chairs, we were pretty hungry and the event coordinator said pizza will be here in a few minutes. I had heard of Rudinos a few time from other volunteers since they have donated so many pizza’s to Full Circle. They all claimed they loved their pizza! Now the first thing I saw on the box when it showed up that it said«Grinders» on it. That got me a little excited. I moved down to Richmond back in ’94 and everything up north is Grinders, not subs or hogies. When I used to go into places in Richmond and ask for a grinders, I got looks of confusion on the faces of the order takers. Seeing that Rudinos knew what a grinder was might mean the pizza wasn’t going to be half bad. I had Cheese, Pep or Veggie to chose from. First I thought there was no pepperoni pizza, since I didn’t see any pepperoni, but after taken a bite I could taste and see that the pepperoni was under the cheese. Yeah UNDER the cheese. I don’t think i have ever seen that before. The pizza was tasty, but I thought the crust had… not quite sure how to explain it. ever make the at home pizza kit you can buy, maybe by Pillsbury. kind of tasted like that. doughy. tasting. It was cooked through, just had that taste. Anyway, I thought it was OK pizza. Going to give them the 5-Star for there great support for causes in Richmond. They have donated much time and money to help out charities and you should visit and give them a try for that!

Food here is average. Was REALLY disappointed that their delivery driver doesn’t ‘come in’ until 2:00 on Sundays. That is really a bummer when someone has to go pick it up during football. They have a good Wednesday special of a $ 6.0012″ pizza. Made a perfect lunch to share.

Rudinos is «Average» for me. I have been in there several times. There is nothing really special about their subs. It seems they do not put any seasoning on the subs, so they lack in flavor. The other night I had a pizza, and the crust seemed like just any old dough. I do not order the fries any longer as they are really bland. They bake their fries as appose to deep frying them. I guess this is suppose to be better for you, however when I want something to eat and I want fries, I will go to a place where they deep fry them. I tried putting lots of salt on them, and again they are just plain«Bland» tasting. The only thing I got out of the fries was lots of salt and a deep thirst later… I suggest going if you have NO other place to go to. The place is clean, however once they serve the food, they forget who you are…

The food was good, fast, and not expensive. The missing star is because the guy taking our order didn’t really seem to be paying attention to us and missed my request to add something to a specialty pizza.

Pizza was fine the one time I was able to order it. Have tried 3 other times to order. Two of those times they had no wings, and weren’t «delivering at this time», 7:30 p.m. by the way. The third time I tried ordering their grinder on Tues. When they supposedly have a buy 1 get one half priced deal going on. The kid on the phone had no clue what I was talking about and didn’t honor the deal despite it being on the website. I realize that it is only a couple of bucks but I felt like I was getting baited and switched. It is like they don’t want to get orders. Probably won’t bother trying again especially since he hung up on me tonight without even checking if I wanted to pickup my order since they weren’t delivering. Food I would have given 4 stars from my one experience, but your staff and they way you treat customers brings them way down.

Rudinos is a nice casual restaurant that sells grinders(subs essentially), pizza, salads, etc. It’s a great place for families and many sport teams seem to eat there after their games which makes the atmosphere lively. If you have small kids, they have coloring materials as well. As for the food, I have only tried their grinders(which are 9″-18″)…but they are awesome! They give plenty of meat and use quality ingredients. What’s great about them is their BREADSTICKS! They’ll bake it when you order it(same for your grinder) and it is delicious! My favorite grinder is the Parmesan Pepper Steak… I like things nice and simple; but I’ve tried others and they are just as good. I notice that they also have a buffet, but I haven’t tried it yet. The staff is always friendly and welcoming whenever I stop by(whether it’s when they just open or about to close!) Overall, this is a great place to stop by. I’d recommend it!
