Can you say«adorable»? This pocket-sized library makes the one in Point Richmond seem big. I lived in north and east Richmond for 11 years(and now right next door in El Cerrito), and never figured out where this place was. Then I needed a book for my book group that I couldn’t find anywhere else. I was humbled to discover how easy the library is to get to – it’s basically right off Carlson Boulevard, at the Bayview exit from 580. When I arrived, I was dazzled by the pleasant, clean new interior décor. There were comfy chairs and unoccupied computer stations, both rare commodities at Richmond Main. The librarian, Chris, introduced himself, shook my hand, and offered me a flier with upcoming programs(heavily weighted, I noted, toward story time and puppet shows). Alas, the hours are more limited than the main library(closed Friday through Sunday, but open Tuesday until 7:00), so check before you visit. Oh, Richmond, you have so many hidden treasures, and this is one of them!
