History

Established in 2013.

When my wife and I finished traveling around the world as members of the United States Air Force, we settled in Richmond, Kentucky and found that there were no donut shops in town. We were the first in a long «donut free» period to establish Poppy’s. My grand babies call me Poppy and thus the name. It’s not uncommon now to be called Poppy anywhere in town because people have grown to love our donuts and know that they are getting the freshest daily treat for donut lover in everyone.

The owners have been married over 30 years and love to host friends and family to social events and eating. It was a natural thing to open a donut shop. They’re commitment to quality and freshness (never frozen) is what makes this business stand above the rest.
