Making the decision to have my 14-​year old beloved companion Banjo put to sleep last January was one of the hardest decisions I’ve had to make, but I knew it was time. Evelyn Ivey was worth the price we paid to do it in dignity, at home with family rather than the cold confines of a Vetenarian’s patient room. Dr. Ivey was kind and compassionate, and she followed up with us to ask how we were doing.
Losing Banjo may have sent me into an emotional black hole without the support of my friends and family and the compassionate care of an end-​of-​life steward like Dr. Ivey.

This review comes 2 months late but I wanted you know to know how amazing Dr. Ivey was to our baby boy Mojo. If you’re on this page I know exactly how you feel. This was the hardest decision I ever had to make in my life but after long thought and advice from Dr. Ivey, we knew Mojo didn’t have much longer because of his heart condition. She was so patient and kind with us and Mojo. The process was done with such love and care. Today would have been Mojos 7^th birthday. :) I say this with tears because he was my baby but if you are needing to make a hard choice like this, please go with Dr. Ivey. You will feel at peace with your choice. Also, I’m so sorry for your loss.

This was the worst and best $ 400 I have spent in a long time. Our sweet cat Milton was nearing the end and although we didn’t want to have to make a decision it was clear his quality of life had diminished and that he was in pain. I called Dr. Ivey on a Sunday afternoon and she took the time to find out everything that was going on with Milton and my feelings surrounding this decision. We planned for her to come by Monday but within an hour of setting up our appointment I realized there was no real reason to wait, he wasn’t going to be in any better shape by the following day. I called her back and she was at our home in an hour and a half.
She was kind and gentle with Milton and made sure my wife and I were ready with each step she took. All of the other animals in the house simply adored her which I think is a good sign.
The procedure itself is not easy to see as the narcotic definitely made his little body tense up and I had a minor panic that we were making the wrong decision. This is something that I had not prepared myself for. It was a very very difficult experience for all of us but Dr. Ivey’s presence only made it easier. She is gentle, kind and helpful but also able to provide the space and time needed in this situation. When she left I told her I hoped that I’d never see her again because no one wants to go through the pain of losing a dear family member. However if I ever need these services again she will definitely be who we call. Thank you Dr. Ivey.

Yes, there are many choices of services for one to make for their beloved pets however, I now know that I never need to look further should I have to make this extremely painful choice again. Her self designed & composed website told me everthing I needed to know at the exact time I needed it ! Without doubt or a moments hesitation I would pay this wonderful woman air fare & any expenses to anywhere in the U.S.of A. to have her loving kindness, gentleness & compassionate guidance at that difficult time.
She was referred to me by another Vet I had hired for acupuncture who had the opportunity to meet & talk with Dr. Ivey. a while back. It’s almost hard to believe my great fortune. I will always think of Dr. Ivey as the Mother Theresa of beloved animals every where. Bless her soul.

I’m so thankful to Dr. Ivey giving us the peace of knowing our little dog ended her days in comfort, at homes, in our arms. At this very difficult time, Dr. Ivey was compassionate, wise and graceful, and we appreciate her more than we can say.

Dr. Evelyn Ivey was so wonderful when she helped us let go of our beloved Bella. That might have been the hardest day of our lives.
Both my husband and I thought she was so gentle, compassionate, and her follow-​up card and phone calls were heartfelt and caring. She was also very accommodating with her schedule.
Anyone who has loved their pet will appreciate the level of professionalism, understanding, and holistic service she provides.

Dr. Ivey helped me send my dog (best friend) off with dignity and respect. She’s compassionate and the voice of reason I needed in what was one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever had to make. She answered all my questions and even followed up with a handwritten card and phone calls. I cannot thank her enough for her work — she made a horrible moment in time less-​horrible.

Dr. Ivey has the best bedside manner I have ever come across. She took a very difficult time in our lives and made it bearable. She is so gentle and caring not only for us but with our extended family member. We could not have asked for a kinder soul to assist us in this very sad moment in our family. Words can never express our gratitude for her! Thank you so much.

Dr. Ivey’s compassion for me and my beautiful Bella was simply overwhelming. My heart was full of sadness when I had to make that fateful call to Peace for Pets, but Dr Ivey was the steady voice I needed to hear. Once she arrived, she treated me like an old friend. And she treated Bella with dignity and reverence fit for a queen. I couldn’t have said goodbye without the help of Dr Ivey. She was a blessing to me when I felt I had none.

I decided to let our 14 ½ year old fur-​nephew go. His human father and grandmother were with him. He chose to lay in his bed. I had ‘interviewed’ Dr. Ivey days before knowing that that the time was coming in the month ahead. I didn’t realize it would only be days.
She was incredible with Fritz. She had another appointment after but still came in… sat near Fritz and talked and petted to him. She told my family what was going to occur. Most of all, Fritz was comfortable and was not stressed.
Fritz is no longer in pain and running around chasing his ball and sniffing all the new areas.
There is an emptiness in my home. But my heart is full of happy memories and I’m deeply grateful for Dr. Ivey’s kindness.

We can not express our gratitude enough for Dr. Ivey and Peace for Pets. During a very difficult and sad time Dr. Ivey’s compassion, kindness and calm energy was exactly what we needed to help get us through our final farewell to our beloved Coco. We chose to have our children present and she was also amazing with them. For such a sad and heartbreaking time Dr. Ivey brought peace and grace to our hearts. We are so grateful to have been able to do this in our home and with Dr. Ivey’s loving assistance.

My dearest Meiko was 19.5 yrs. After recuperating from seizures over the past 2 to 3 yrs, I decided not this time after loss of motion in his hind legs. Meiko was tired and so was I. I called Dr. Ivey at ~8 AM, she was prompt for our 11:15 appointment and it was peaceful. Moreover, Dr. Ivey was empathetic and kind. She wrapped a lock of my Meiko’s hair and placed it in a decorative bag with care. I had never experienced the passing of an animal and thought i would be overcome with grief, but the three of us made it through. Dr. Ivey also gives hugs which i did not expect, but they were welcomed.

Dr, Ivey was wonderful. She gave me all the information I needed ahead of time and answered all my questions, reassured me that I was making the right decision for my elderly cat and prepared me for everything that would happen. If you’re reading this it means your pet is very sick and you have to find someone to help end your pets suffering. For that, I’m truly sorry to both of you; However I’m very glad you’ve come across this lady, because she will help make your goodbye a peaceful one as she did the same for us on July 3, 2015 for our kitty of 15 years, Yoda who is now happily running through Heavens Medows.
This lady, Dr. Evelynn is so amazingly wonderful I can not say enough great things about her. It takes a special person to do this kind of work. She sat with us during one of the saddest times in our lives. The amount of empathy she gave us was almost saintly in my eyes. I can’t think of a better word to describe her spirit & calming presence.
Putting our kitty down was very hard. I’d never done anything like that before. All our animals in the past had run away, we never had to make this choice before. What made it especially challenging was Yodas roller coaster of ups & downs in her health after the Dr declared her «beyond recovery». We knew we had to prepare to say goodbye but could not & honestly did not want to choose a date since the medicines were working and we didn’t want to put her to sleep on a day when she was feeling peppy or worse yet, chose a day too late which means she would pass naturally and painfully. We ideally wanted to wait until the day of or maybe the day before. Since we called several Drs it seemed there was no getting around picking a date. All at home euthanasia Dr were asking us to pick a day.
That is until we found Dr Evelynn.
Evelynn was very patient and never asked me to commit to a day since I didn’t really know yet. She never asked for a deposit or to sign any contracts. She said I could call her 24 hours in advance and would also do her best to come same day if needed if she could. That instantly put my heart & mind at ease allowing me to enjoy my last days with my baby.
Dr E checked in with me to see how I was doing and walked me through the process so I would know what was to be expected. She was sweet kind and calm.
She helped Yoda fall asleep first before giving her the medicine which helped her feel no pain.
Peace for Pets offers cremation services and extras which was a nice option. However, We decided to bury Yoda in the yard. I made a pretty casket out of a shoe box and wrapped it with pretty wrapping paper and decorated it with jewels. I put her little blanket inside to make it comfy for her final resting place. Evelyn put Yoda in the box and made her look pretty & peaceful.
We gathered around as a family, played some goodbye music –lullabys from lady & the tramp (la la loo) and (stay awake) from Mary poppins.
Evelyn took her time while we let Yoda have one last stroll outside & allow her to say goodbye to her fury family before we put her to sleep.
She never rushed us and even asked us personal questions about Yoda. She gave us space to share good memories with her too.
when Yoda left to join our family and friends on the other side Evelynn helped ease my mind about making the hard choice. She helped me feel better that I did the right thing.
To top it off, if that wasn’t good enough, she followed up with condolence texts, and even a hand written note in the mail.
By the way I forgot to mention she came to us on July 3^rd which was a busy holiday weekend with only a few hours notice.
I really cant say enough great things about her.
During this difficult time you want someone who really cares by your side; as they will be the last person you and your beloved pet will spend time with.
I earnestly hope you will use her. I don’t know how I got so lucky getting her. I think God sent her my way.

Dr. Ivey is truly an amazing person. This has got to be the hardest job in the world, and I don’t know how she does it. I almost lost my dear chihuahua, and Dr. Ivey nursed her patiently back to health when no one else could (she wouldn’t eat for 3 weeks). I have never seen anyone more compassionate to animals AND their people. She is a highly skilled vet who performs a very difficult service for us when we need her most. I am not surprised to read that she has driven to people’s homes on short notice to provide relief to suffering, and assisting all involved over the rainbow bridge. Dr. Ivey is the real deal, she cares so much for people and their babies.

I couldn’t have imagined a better experience for such a difficult decision /​time. I’m very grateful for Dr. Evelyn Ivey, who came out to our home to let our pup go with dignity. She was very professional-​explaining the process completely, understanding, supportive and empathetic. Everything was very much appreciated and I highly recommend Evelyn Ivey, DVM Peace for Pets.

Dr. Ivey is an angel and we will forever be grateful to her. Our sweet girl’s health declined very rapidly and we called Dr. Ivey early in the morning and left a message with her machine. She got back to us promptly and came over at 11:30. She greated me with a hug and so much compassion from the first second. I was free to feel my full range of emotions during the process — from intense grief and sorrow to relief and back again.
My kitty was 5 pounds on her last day on earth. Dr. Ivey was so gentle, and treated her so delicately. As another reviewer mentioned, she used a towel to cover the injections. She explained each step and allowed me to take my time. I knew that my sweet girl was feeling tremendous peace in the final moments of her life.
I am so, so grateful that Dr. Ivey provides this service. It can’t be easy to see grieving people everyday, and to be able to hold such compassion for each person. She made this horrible necessity as wonderful as it could have been, and I am so grateful as well for the paw print in clay she’ll be making for us.

Today we had to make the hard decision to put our 15 year old cat at peace. Dr. Ivey was so incredible and compassionate. I have never felt better about the decision to put one of our beloved animals out of suffering. Apart from coming to our home to ensure he was as relaxed and comfortable as possible, she was accommodating and so professional. Most importantly, it felt like an old friend came to be with us during a hard time. I highly recommend Dr. Ivey and Peace for Pets.

We are so thankful we found Dr. Ivey. Our amazing cat had begun to lost his battle against a rare fungal infection and we had no desire to put him to rest in a vets office. My husband contacted Dr. Ivey the day we decided we could not let Diego suffer another day. She came later that day and was so kind and loving. When she came in I was laying with him on the ground spooning him. She let me lay there the entire time and my husband and other kitty cat all laid with him. We were able to love him, whisper to him, comfort him, and be with him as he let go. It was the hardest thing I have ever been through but I am so thankful I was able to be with him peacefully throughout the process. Dr. Ivey is amazing, calming, and gave my Diego a peaceful exit from this world. Thank you.
