PayLess Self Storage

It’s a clean facility with nice people working in the office. No complaints they take care of business and work with your budget. I have used them for almost a year now and see myself using this facility for a while. I do recommend.

I’m in the book business, 33 years now. I’ve used many many different storage places, dozens all over the Bay Area. But about 15 years ago I discovered Payless, and I’ve never looked back! I’ve rented many units there, big spaces, little spaces, and just rented two units there this week, they really are the best around for price, quality and service. And if you actually go around to the other typical places you’ll quickly understand that many storage operations are dirty, poorly lit, unsafe, friendly when you are renting, and unfriendly soon as you have signed up and moved in!
But besides being a a great operation, they also have something that is unique I think, an on-​site mover guy, Dave Franks, who has helped me for most of the last 15 years, (call first to arrange), a good guy for sure, not the cheapest but he is a pro, has all the moving equipment, and works hard and fast and is built like a Mac Truck. He can do little jobs like help old people unload their car to full on cross country household moves. He’s moved my stuff about a dozen times, heavy boxes of of books.
So many other places have problems like rats, fumes from illegally stored chemicals, excessive dust that seeps into all your boxes, damp and mildew, creepy guys hanging around, etc but I’ve never had any of those problems, and their prices are about as low as you can find in the immediate Bay Area. But more than that its the staff that make it. When you move you WILL have unforeseen problems, lost keys, car trouble, too much or too little space rented, etc, but these people will always do whatever they can. Its like a little community of nice helpful people who all work together. at low wages I’m sure. I’ve very grateful, as they have saved me from difficulties a number of times, especially Sylvia, and also the onsite manager. If you want something cheaper you basically have to go to Tracy or Ukiah, and even there the prices are not that much less in my estimation. I hope this review doesn’t sound like and ad, I just really love this place, and in my business good cheap storage that is safe and reliable is essential and hard to find.

I don’t currently store things there as I no longer have a need, but if I do again, this is the place.
The facility is clean, the security, the manager, the staff, all seemed genuinely helpful and organized.

This facility is very nicely kept. The staff is friendly and super helpful. Always pleasant to speak with. The prices are competitive and it’s super close to the freeway exit. They have a three month special that is about 50% off from their regular price so we are taking advantage if this special. What’s best is that although it is three months, you aren’t held to keeping the unit for the entire time since they are month to month storage. This works perfectly for us! Yay! Places like this with their ease of access, friendly staff, and convenience really do make like a lot easier!!!

I have had my things in storage for over six years at Payless Storage. The location is easy to get to, very safe and clean. The staff has always been very nice and friendly. When I was ready to clean out my storage unit, the manager Shale could not have been more gracious or accommodating. If in the future I need storage I will use Payless again. It feels so good to know the things you’ve stored are in a clean well lighted safe place.

Many of my friends store there things here and I decided to finally put many pieces of furniture many boxes of books and other items that are important to me into storage again as I have had no room for these things after I moved a few years ago. I was reluctant to put my things into storage, just not sure they would be safe and sound
but Payless has been great. My things are safe and clean and there is no dust at all,
my unit is an ‘indoor’ unit on the second floor.
Payless is really a great old fashioned customer service oriented business. Everyone there has been extremely friendly, informative, and very nice and professional. The storage unit seems to be quite new and wonderfully clean. The halls have so much lighting that you can light up every hallways very brightly as well as the units. There are camera’s in the hallways and I can see that security there is a priority.
I have been back four times to get a few things and bring a few more things
and it is a breeze to get to, its CLEAN! and safe– so I am happy to let people know this.
Nice that there are still places that have the feeling of being very Professional and organized and a place that feels like the people actually care about their customers.

I had all my treasured possessions here for almost three years and recommend them highly. The staff were always helpful, the place is easy to access and even living on the other side of the country I felt that my belongings were safe, warm, dry. I would absolutely go back if I needed storage again.

I just moved my stuff out! Amazing staff!, they are very helpfully and friendly. Fair prices and a great location? I love that they have a truck and driver for you to use, save me lots of time and money. So, I would recommend them!

We started renting a 10’x10’ in March 2011. We were given a special move-​in discount
rate and a Free Truck. Over our entire time of renting at this facility, we have experienced
the kindest and helpful customer service from the Manager, Shale and his other staff.
I would highly recommend this place to all. We have had nothing but a great experience.

they are very nice over the phone and in person. Our moving truck was late but then stayed late so that we had time to unload. The storage units are a bit dirty though, so make sure that your things are covered and bring a broom to clean them out

I don’t think it can get much better than this. 100% solar powered, friendly and very helpful service and all that for less price than other places. They even include a nice lock in the price, you don’t pay x-​tra.

This has been a great place to store my household goods and other things. I got a unit upstairs where the unit is insulated and away from the exterior elements such as rain and dust that you would otherwise get with an exterior, drive-​up-​to, unit.
All of the employees have always been very friendly and helpful. They give a free circular lock that you keep with two keys (they do not keep a key), and for moving my things into the locker, they offered a free moving truck with 25 free miles. I moved from San Francisco so I stayed under the 25 miles.
I also liked the 3 month special which was $ 70/​month for a 10′ x 10′ locker, which is amazing for the Bay Area! Today I pay the regular price of $ 159/​mo but it has been worth it considering the unit is insulated; I feel it is secure with the security cameras; and it is just 3 minutes from where I work. Moving carts abound throughout the facility and there is an elevator to the second floor to access my unit.
The location is right off of Hwy 580 and Canal Blvd and is easily accessible. They also have extended hours which make it easy to access my things whenever they are needed.
I have been happy keeping my things safe and secure at this storage facility. You will, too. If you do choose to try them out, ask for an insulated unit upstairs. It doesn’t cost you extra. If you want a climate controlled unit upstairs, however, that will cost you extra.
Peace of mind that your things are safe and secure, a friendly staff, easily accessible… this storage facility is a gem in the Bay Area.

I don’t actually store any of my stuff at Payless Storage, but my BFFL does and I helped her move all her stuff into a storage unit. The people who work there are very friendly and always offered us bottled water when we were there. Really great people and the storage units are nice and clean. They also offer camera security and rolling carts. I think they also offer you the use of a moving truck for free.
