Best beer selection in Richmond I’ve found other than Corks & Kegs. The guys here really know their stuff and let you know when something new and tasty has arrived. I’ve gotten Enjoy By’s, Jai Alai’s and most recently Beer Camp here. Mostly it’s fun to just zone out and stare at the freezers of beer for a while.

Absolutely LOVE this place! I am a German beer fanatic, and the selection is fantastic! I also have been able to find a couple of Brit beers that I like. Only thing missing is the Carlsberg. Gotta say, their selection of local brews and micro brews is outstanding. The staff is very friendly and quite knowledgeable. And the Friday Wine/Beer tastings are a great cheap date with my wife. Puts her in great spirits! Cannot say enough great things about this fantastic local Wine/Beer shop! You need to visit!

Awesome store for beer and wine fans. The store now has kegs on tap for growler fills. Asked an associate there for a recommendation for a sour beer recently and was very satisfied with the choice. Great selection and great service.

Although the name would lead you to believe that this is a wine store, their beer selection is more varied and impressive. I knew what I was after and didn’t need any help, but did have a very interesting and informed discussion of emerging beer styles with one of the staff which means that at least some of them have the knowledge to help when needed. Prices were very reasonable to the point that my box was a little fuller than originally planned for about the same cost as planned. This is definitely the place to go if you’re looking for beer. Next time I’ll do a little wine shopping and add that to my rating as well.

Stopped in this quaint wine/beer store today for a big beer tasting. Having been to the original Once Upon a Vine with its great selection and friendly staff, I had high expectations, and they were met! The staff was very friendly, prices seemed decent, and the beer selection was huge! I was happy to see a nice range of Virginia wines, including selections like Gabrielle Rausse, which is hard to find in RVA. There was also a nice selection of beer glasses and other stuff, making this seem like a great place to go for a gift. All in all, I really liked this place. If I lived closer, I would definitely make it my regular drink stop.

This is a really neat little beer and wine shop hidden in a strip mall off Forrest Hill. The selection is pretty good for beer but I think the wine selection, particularly the more unusual wines, could have been more developed. All in all though the staff is friendly, the prices are on par, and the beer choices are worth looking at.

Once Upon a Vine is my first choice for finding great beers south of the James River in Richmond, Virginia. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and their selection is terrific. Once Upon a Vine has wine & beer tastings weekly, usually on Fridays, and I often find a new favorite. They have an even larger wine selection, which I can’t rate as I’m not a wine connoisseur. My only gripe is that I requested that they carry box wines, since there are some exceptional wines now that are packaged that way — and much more appropriate for an occasional wine drinker like me. But that’s a minor complaint!
