Nilam Threading and Spa

Pleasant and clean salon, operated by a very nice lady. I didn’t have an appointment, but she saw me right away and did a great job threading. She was very thorough, didn’t rush, but finished quickly.

Nicest lady ever! I called on a snow day to see if she was open… she was, but she said she was about to close but would wait for me if I could tell her when I could be there. Love! My eyebrows were perfect with little direction. I came back and bought some of the lovely and very fairly priced earrings for a wedding. Highly recommend this business!

I had my brows and lip threaded. The technician was very profession, personable and shaped my eyelashes to perfection.

I’ve gone here twice and have no complaints! It’s a small quaint place and she takes her time! She studies your face and does your eyebrows based off of what works for you… I will continue to keep going to her. Both times I’ve had my eyebrows threaded

First time trying Nilam. Lovely, clean spa. I walked right in and was seated within 10 minutes. The lady did a great job. I opted for waxing over threading because I am a gigantic baby but I will try threading next time. $ 12.00 for an eyebrow wax. My new place.

I had been abusing the inch and half strips of hair above my eyes for to long before I stumbled on Nilam. We all know what is supposed to happen: technician studies your face, listens to your wants/​concerns, then recommends and DOES what looks best for you.
This shop really delivers on that fantasy. Quick and knowledgeable this is the only place in richmond that touched my precious brows.

I found this threading place after moving to Virginia from Denver. While this place isn’t as good as the place I went to in Denver, it’s the best place in the richmond area. I’m not sure how they stay in business though because I’ve never been there when anyone else was there. I’ve only gotten my eyebrows threaded here but she always does a good job. It’s the only place I’ll go.

Salon is clean, the work is excellent and it’s at a good price. Nothing more you can ask! :)

Customer service was good, but the Brazilian wax experience was not so great she didn’t even get all the hair off and that pissed me off, I went through all of that pain to have an unfinished wax :(sucks I won’t be going back

Today was my first time visiting Nilam for a brow and lip threading service, needless to say she did an excellent job! I am very satisfied with her attention to detail and her need to make the customer feel comfortable. She is very friendly and gives you a mirror in the middle of the service to be sure that you are satisfied with what she is doing. Most salons don’t do this. You can tell that she cares about her work which is high quality. Her prices are very affordable as well and the location is extremely convenient. I’m definitely going back to her and going to recommend her to all of my friends and family!

Love love love Nilam!!! I’ve been coming to her for my eyebrows and facials for quite some time. Nilam takes her time and makes you feel like a valued customer! The facials are by far the best I’ve ever received and so relaxing! She does an excellent job with my eyebrows, and I always walk out of her spa feeling at my best! I just moved back to Richmond after three years of living away. I was delighted to see that Nilam has opened her own spa after working at another spa. Nilam was first recommended to me for threading by my dermatologist about six years ago. She does a fantastic job with threading — very skilled and meticulous. Her spa is quite nice — a bright, clean, and relaxing environment. I look forward to continuing to be a client of Nilam Threading and Spa and highly recommend it!

Went here for a Brazilian with a groupon. Based on my conversation with Nilam during the wax she has years of experience in this field and recently started her own business. Scheduling was flexible with a good range of hours. The waxing was professional and clean. She checked a few times to make sure she knew what I wanted and was pleased with the results. Prices are reasonable as well. I will definitely go back and consider other services like eyebrow threading, facials, massage.

After having a very unpleasant bikini waxing experience last summer in Richmond (see past reviews) I usually avoid the area and get my wax done out of town. However I needed something done for valentines day asap. I got a great deal on groupon here and was even more pleased that she took me last minute a hr after calling. What a lifesaver! The shop was pleasantly decorated and extremely clean and professional. Nilam who is very sweet and made me feel comfortable uses quality products. She even has my favorite skin care products dermalogica! She gave me a fairly painless deep bikini wax while conducting me in friendly chatting that took my mind off of it. One of the best waxing experiences Ive had. If you want a pleasant experience with a lovely professional stop on by. The shop is a little hard to find, tucked away in a shopping center. However my gps led me right to it.

This is a great alternative to hair salon waxing. Nalim talked me into having my eyebrows threaded… Thank goodness she did. They look amazing and she even taught me how to fill in my eyebrows with make up (she sells makeup and brushes as well if you want to purchase what she uses.) My brows have never looked better. I’ll definitely be going back. Nalim is incredibly sweet and makes you feel very welcome.

I ran across this place while trying to find someone to shape my brows. I have been a fan of threading since I was a high schooler, so I am very picky and I believe that a woman with non groomed eyebrows is a hot mess… A lot of places tend to lack in consistency and taking the proper time to groom each person based on their individual face characteristics… now on to the review.
The location isn’t the best. It’s tucked away in a shopping center and can be easily missed. The inside is decent — nothing to write home about.
I was quickly greeted as soon as I entered (that’s a plus). I had called ahead of time to set up an appt bc I didn’t want to wait. The owner (nilam) did my brows. she was conversational but not too much to were I was dying to get up. She allowed me to look at my brows with her prior to starting and I liked that! Once she got started, I felt she knew what she was doing– she spent ample time on both brows using a combo of threading and the brow shears. After each brow she allowed me to look to make sure I approved! I felt she catered to the shape of my face and not just doing a standard arch and shape for all people that come by
Conclusion: I have been looking for someone to be consistent and give my brows the proper care in Richmond and I would definitely recommend this new establishment. I loved my brows and they looked great and she was able to even them out (bc the eyebrow place aka chop shop inside regency mall messed my eyebrows up!!!) Now, it will take a few more return visits to make sure the consistency aspect stays, because many companies start off being able to do that but once business grows it’s down the drain. I think this is a place worth a try for richmond Unilocalers. She also does massages and waxing services in her place as well. Hope this helps and I’ll update my review upon my next visit in a few weeks!

Nilam is the only person who I trust to do my eyebrows. I’ve been going to her for years and I’m so excited that she now has her very own salon!

I have been going to Nilam for years. She started at another salon and I was more than happy to follow her when she left. When she was there she was one of the most desirable technicians and VERY difficult to get an appointment with. She is now south Richmond but I am from Houston so I will drive wherever for quality. Nilam is just that, QUALITY. She is a perfectionist and really is just gifted at her craft. From my eyebrows which I consistently receive compliments on, to my microdermabrasion and facials– I cannot fathom going anywhere else. Her prices are fair, quality is excellent, and her work impeccable! My roommate and I both went to her until my roommate moved. Now, when she visits Richmond, she makes a point to make an appointment with Nilam. All I can say is if you’re unsure how you know which salon is good/​which providers are best, Nilam is definitely all of those things. Do yourself a favor and make an appointment!

I just moved here from out of state, and I’ve been dreading trying to find a professional threading technician for my eyebrows. Well… I found the perfect place! Nilam is one of the sweetest ladies I’ve met since moving to Richmond. I showed her a picture of how my eyebrows typically look when I have them done, and she did the job perfectly. In addition to threading, she also does all types of waxing. The pricing was very very reasonable as well. I’m definitely going back!
