Long been a huge fan of MovieStop. This place helped reinvigorate my DVDs collecting addiction. Love their horror sale they have around Halloween. My motto is why pay full price for an older movie when you can come here and buy it used? Speaking of used, the employees here are much more thorough at checking the movies that people trade in. I remember Blockbuster wasn’t nearly as careful with trade ins which inevitably resulted in you buying a used movie that was badly damaged. Ugh. MovieStop comes ahead in that regard. Yes, a few bad ones do slip through now and again but that’s to be expected. The one thing I don’t like now about MovieStop is the new renovation. More than half the store now looks like a comic book/novelty shop. The movies are all shoved off together on one side of the store in cramped overly tall shelves. The focus isn’t on movies anymore and that’s pretty sad. I like buying my used movies here but I just hate the renovation.

What Gamestop is for video games, Moviestop is for movies(um… duh). Staff is consistently nice and helpful. I usually go every month or so to grab a couple cheap movies. There’s always something on sale.

I came here today after work to sell some movies I came across after spring cleaning. The store wasn’t very busy and the young lady who helped me was nice enough. I haven’t even been to a Movie Stop or sold/traded movies before so I came into this whole thing as a n00b. I got a total of $ 13.41 for around 20 movies. The trade value ranged from $ 0.25(Billy Blanks Bootcamp) to $ 1.97 for the most expensive buyback on my movies(Monster). The credit can be given to you in cash or store credit. If you chose cash you only get 50% of whatever the trade value is per movie(pennies in my case). So I opted for the store credit(full trade value). Overall, the staff was nice but I wasn’t terrible impressed and for just $ 13 bucks I think I would have rather dropped them off at library or thrift store and cut my loses.
