Inventory turnover is not very fast at all, so it’s the type of place I go every other month or so. The book selection is broad, but they can be very pricey. The real downfall of McAdoos is that you may pick up two items and one happens to be from a vendor(without your knowledge) who only accepts cash or check. So you have to make two separate purchases, and that is only if you happen to be carrying enough cash or a check to buy it. This has happened to me almost every time I have gone and it is incredibly frustrating! I go to many businesses that feature a wide variety of vendors and this has never happened to me elsewhere. In 2015, who is regularly carrying more than $ 5 of cash or a checkbook for that matter?

Absolutely love this store! Cheryl is awesome, very knowledgeable and so friendly, I find myself looking forward to seeing her as much as finding vintage goodies. As far as shopping, there is a little bit of everything and always new items. It’s definitely a store that you could spend and hour and still not see everything. But I love that! So I would certainly recommend to anyone looking for household items, vintage 60s and 70s décor, appliances and knick knacks. And I’ve also found many a book from McAdoos as well. Great place!

use to shop her quite frequently. items are okay, nothing spectacular. book section is good. decided to stop patronizing when owner changed the price on an item that I placed on hold! and we’re not talking days on hold, I was back within an hour! when I questioned the amount, she acted appalled at the very insinuation. I am certain of the initial price noted on the tag and the manipulation of the numbers was laughable. It saddens me that she was willing to lose a regular customer for an extra 5 bucks. bottom line… cannot support such unethical business practices. there are PLENTY of thrift/consignment stores in the area!

This place is a typical vintage store, dark and filled with hidden treasures among seemingly piles of junk. It tends to be 60s-80s vintage in my opinion(which isn’t necessarily the best for home decorating) and I am sure it’s a collectors dream store– never know what they’ve got in there. maybe it’s got a slight Americana skew? I’m not an expert… to me it looks like a lot of junk, but I don’t think I know the value of vintage items. I never see that many people in there, and so I’m constantly amazed by the fact that this place is still open. I mean, it’s cool to look around in, last time I was there I saw everything from A tracks to an original microwave to some old comic books… I wonder if the owner is an avid Ebayer, maybe that is how he is making ends meet. However he’s doing it, this is a solid vintage store where you can find some interesting things that remind you of days gone by… it’s worth checking out if you have a specific item you collect, or if you are just always in the market for the unusual or hard to find.
