James River Orthodontics specializes in braces and Invisalign for children, teens, and adults in the Richmond community. We are passionate about 2 things: our patients and straight teeth! Dr. Larry Scarborough was named one of Richmond’s Top Orthodontists by Richmond Magazine in 2014. In addition, JRO is the largest single-​member provider of Invisalign in the Richmond, VA area and is a 2014 Invisalign Premier Provider.

We believe that your smile plays a large part in defining you. Dr. Scarborough understands that smiles are not one-​size-​fits-​all and he thrives on providing you with individualized treatment options to bring out the smile you have always wanted.

History

Established in 2011.

Dr. Larry Scarborough had a vision for an orthodontic practice in Richmond, VA that would eventually become a staple in the local community. He took the time to design a practice where kids and adults alike felt comfortable getting braces or Invisalign treatment. The result was JRO — an orthodontic practice where patients feel like family and receive exceptional orthodontic care.

Dr. Scarborough completed his undergraduate studies at Virginia Tech and then continued to the VCU School of Dentistry. Upon graduation of dental school Dr. Scarborough was accepted into the Orthodontic Residency program at Medical College of Virginia. After graduating from his residency, Dr. Scarborough opened James River Orthodontics where he has since treated many children, teens, and adults from all over Central Virginia.

I want to make everyone smile. Creating smiles, improving dental function and enhancing every patient’s self-​esteem is my way of immersing myself in every moment of every day. I live life with energy, trying to take as little for granted as possible. There are no projects. Instead, it’s all an effort to improve you and your family’s everyday life.

My philosophy is simple; connect with you and provide you with the ability to smile confidently.
